So lucky to have these chaps nearby so that we can get some decent sushi. Have recommended to lots of people.
Like the previous reviewer, we have also done a sushi making class with them but a couple of years ago now. We went with a couple of friends and had a very jolly evening, drinking prosecco and making/ eating sushi. I think we might have to do it again soon actuality.

A “wow” experience. Most certainly the best restaurant in Brighton and well beyond. Exquisite food, beautifully presented, top service, class surroundings; Amarillo deserves a Michelin star!!
Oh, where do I even begin with Scott’s Tea Room? It’s a delightful gem hidden in the heart of the village—and, let’s be honest, once you catch a glimpse of Scott himself, you won’t be thinking about tea. Imagine a cozy little haven, with the aromas of freshly baked scones mingling in the air, all served by a man who looks like he just stepped out of a Viking movie set. Yes, Scott is hunky, bald, and bearded, and honestly, it should be illegal to make tea and cakes while looking that good.
The tea selection? Impeccable. The cakes? Life-changing. But it’s the service that’s the real star here. I mean, this guy pours tea like it’s a ritual handed down through generations of ruggedly handsome warriors. Scott can bring out a Victoria sponge like he’s presenting Excalibur, and somehow, the cup of Earl Grey tastes better because he poured it. Need sugar with that? Just catch his eye—trust me, it’s the only sugar you’ll need.
If you’re passing through the village, make it a priority to stop here. Come for the tea, stay for the Scott. And if he happens to flex while pouring your milk? Well, that’s just a bonus.
I love this place. Very fresh ingredients, deliciously made dishes, very friendly staff, good prices, nice view from the window to Palace Street, my favourite eating place in Canterbury.
Cenamos a la vuelta de la esquina y vinimos a tomar un helado. La señora servía era muy servicial con la elección de sabores de helado y mi prometido tenía una rodaja de la tarta de chocolate también. Recomiendo encarecidamente si eres local
Absolutely blown away by the food and drink. Lovely atmosphere and friendly service. I'm not vegan but this had to have been one of the best lunches I've ever had. Will definitely be returning with more friends.
We used heat & soul to cater my mother’s wake. For the most part the food and service was ok, however I would have expected more proactive communication on their part as I had to chase them on various occasions related to the booking process and also on the day in relation to timings as some of the food went out later than expected.
There were a couple of dishes that had too much pepper in them (the Chicken soup and coleslaw).
As for the dessert, it was a disappointing (Spiced Apple crumble, which was actually Apple and Pecan crumble). We were not told about addition of nuts in the dish until I saw it being served and I saw what I thought was nuts. I asked the server if there were nuts in the dish, he said he didn’t know and was going to ask. As a fellow chef and caterer I find it incomprehensible, for obvious reasons, to put nuts into a dish and not inform us is just plain irresponsible.
We didn’t get a chance to try the Apple crumble at the taster session as we were told he didn’t have time to make it. Not only were we not told about the nuts in the dish but the apples weren’t cooked enough and the crumble was burnt in places.
We reached out the the caterers after the event to give them feedback and they not respond.
This in my opinion shows a complete lack of professionalism.
Uncomfortable chairs, tables too close together, dogs allowed to sit on seats, tables not cleaned the whole time we were there, floor absolutely filthy and waitresses stroking dogs then going behind the counter to carry on serving without washing their hands. Totally unhygienic and unacceptable. Definitely will not be returning.
After a walk along the seafront we spotted you and thought the cafe looked very inviting so popped in. we are so glad we did! We had a lovely brunch, my partner had smoked mackerel on toast with poached egg and I had the prosciutto, asparagus and poached eggs on toast, both were delicious. The Bloody Mary was served just how I like it with myself being able to add as much spice etc as I like. We took some Bakewell tart away with us to eat on the walk back and our only mistake was getting one to share as honestly it was the best one I’ve had, and it was still warm so perfect for this cold weather!
service was impeccable, all the staff were friendly and welcoming, seriously we couldn’t fault it and will definitely come again.
Lovely addition to the Tunbridge Wells casual dining scene. There has been a need for a real Mexican restaurant for years, not Tex mex rubbish of previous establishments. Great selection of cocktails 🍸 tequila, mescal & passionate staff.to talk you through the menu. Could do with a slightly extended menu as the food on offer is so good & more music to add to atmosphere.
Newly refurbished bistro that is welcoming clean and friendly. Good quality ingredients made into fabulous meals and or snacks. I had brunch here this week with my dad and husband. I can tell you the ciabatta scrambled eggs with truffle and salmon is to die for. Will definitely be visiting again.
