We went for the New Year's Eve dinner, an 8 course meal with a glass of bubbly on arrival. We had a few special dietary requirements amongst us, and the staff were very helpful, patient and accommodating. The food was amazing, special mention for the the Beef Wellington, it was perfect ! Stax of Soul provided the music and entertainment for the night

Lovely country pub, cozy, nice decor in keeping with a classic pub and good food. Best of all it’s not just dog friendly but actually has a menu for dogs! Our lab was in heaven 😍. We took our daughter (who’s a student in Winchester) to give her a treat. It’s a really short drive from the city and there’s plenty of parking. We’ll definitely go back.

The Little kitchen Bistro recently catered a funeral I attended in Shawford. The company is so professional & efficient. Every morsel from the samosas, the mango chutney & sandwiches to the lemon meringue pies … It all looked like something from Alices’❣️Wonderland. I shared a mini victoria sponge & I don’t even like cake. Thank you for making everybody feel at ease on a beautiful summer’s day in an English garden. 🪴

Really enjoyed ourselves today. Service is friendly and unpretentious but always attentive, on a number of occasions staff asked us about whether we were enjoying the food. The soughdough bread was delicious and the wild garlic butter vibrant in colour and taste. We had the Porterhouse steak and oh my, it was good.

Like many I have been following Tom since he won Masterchef in 2023 and we had been looking forward to dining in the Avenue for some months, I am pleased to say not only did it not disappoint but it exceeded our expectation. The flavours, presentation and portion sizes were spot on. I photographed each course (I haven't posted them as you will want to see them for yourself) and look back at how divine they all were. We chose our own wine, the list is extensive and well priced. Staff were great and meeting Tom was a real pleasure, he is a very talented chef , treat yourself to what he has to offer.

Popped in on our way home from the Christmas Market in town and wished we hadn’t. It was the most baffling and unwelcoming experience I think I have ever had. We were rudely told by the landlord there was a private function and we were not welcome there. It did not seem exclusive though as the barmaid seemed to be willing to take our order and there was no clear sign outside but having been sworn at and told he doesn’t need our f…ing money we felt that we would never step foot let alone spend any money there again. It was an upsetting encounter. As far from a hospitable experience as you can get!
