The best restaurants in St Johns West Berkshire South East

Great breakfast and friendly service, nicely priced. Can't wait to go back and have another one. I would recommend this for a fry up.

Food is really good and has fast service.

The last 3 times we’ve visited this place there has been number of items missing of the menu - this could just be down to bad luck. So we all had to substitute what we planned to have as was not notified of this on our arrival. 2 of the meals were great but the 3rd was supposed to have sautéed potatoes but turned out to be smothered in Paprika and was served with cod loin. (Not sure how delicate fish and paprika goes ?!?) The menu never mentioned paprika, the person eating it doesn’t cope well with spices, and the response when questioned about it on asking was they would add the description to menu. We did get reimbursed a drink, however what was most disappointing was there was no apology, it’s a shame as the place itself is lovely but so may nice places to eat in Newbury that I’m not sure we would go back here in a hurry!

This is the third time I have visited this place and the third time the menu was limited to next to nothing. The only difference this time was we booked a table in advance for a simple roast dinner. On arrival, we sat in a nice area. We ordered drinks before we were given a menu. Then when I requested a choice of roast, from the menu, we were told they had no Roast dinners! The whole point in booking the table was to secure a roast dinner. I ended up with Hunter's chicken which I have to say was dry and pretty awful. If I hadn't have ordered the drinks, I would have left without ordering at all. This place is so frustrating and I certainly won't be giving it another chance.

Easily the best takeaway in the area. It used to be the one in Thatcham but this is far superior every time. Food is epic the staff are smart and very polite. I strongly recommend it. Mic.
