Fantastic place to spend a late summer afternoon. Intriguing tapas style menu and delicious cocktails. Fun setting, big screen to watch the summers best sporting events on too

This establishment was recommended to me by a friend for my Birthday lunch. Our whole experience was excellent, from the communication before our visit (had to keep changing elements and asked lots of questions) through to the day when we were greeted warmly, the attention to detail was great and we had a lovely afternoon. Our waiting staff member was excellent - attentive, friendly and huge fun (shame she was retiring that day). She was extremely helpful and made suggestions to enhance our lunch (we all had the Sunday roasts at £26 for 2 courses). We booked the snug room and the acoustics in there are great so we could all hear each other without a lot of background noise. Both courses were presented beautifully and were very tasty. We moved into the garden at the end of our table booking slot and staff helped us move our drinks and bottles of wine. All our guests were impressed and we will all be back. Cannot believe we have only just discovered this restaurant. It is in a woodland area and very pretty with great decor and ambience. This place with their great menu will become our new 'go to' restaurant.

On the whole good. The food is truly excellent and I can recommend it wholly on that basis. I do believe however that a particular member of staff needs some customer service training. A portly older ginger haired woman who works on the deli counter. The reason I mention it is that it has happened on three or four occasions. She will be busy filling baguettes or prepping something and does so with her back to the customer. I have walked over into her eyeline before, but nothing - just stony silence. Once she has finished what she is doing she is pleasant enough, but leaving customers standing at the counter when she knows you are there without so much as an acknowledgment or "be with you in a moment" is just downright rude.

Great restaurant, amazing food and fantastic service. Have been coming for t years and plan to for many more! The best around by miles!

I put in search cafe nearby , this was the nearest , and whilst the food ( cheese and onion panini was lovely and good vfm , it wasn’t what I really wanted , omelette or JP and other things a cafe always offered weren’t available . Had a couple of tables outside , but two lovely ladies serving and very clean so yes I would return for another panini

My friend and I live quite local to this place. Thought we would give the cafe a try for lunch. Our experience was very disappointing, overly priced substandard food. I ordered a spiced tuna bagel, an apple juice and packet of crisps. I was handed over a tiny apple juice children size carton priced at £1.95 with no straw. The total cost was approx £11 I asked for the drink to be exchanged and paid a further £2.00 on top . My food in total cost £13 My friend had a club sandwich, packet of crisps and a Coke Zero totalcost £10.70. The sandwich was dry and substandard. Two sandwich meals total over £23 for a community cafe is overly priced in my opinion.

Perfect location for us. Easily accessible for family coming via M3. I've been before, and wanted to bring my partner and family. They loved it. Enjoyed our food choices from a wide menu. Staff were friendly and attentive. Good value for money.

Very good service as always and great atmosphere, unfortunately the cook wasn’t on form and definitely let the side down by over cooking every fish dish order.

Just a proper no frills pub serving good beer with standard pub grub. Friendly staff and customers make for a relaxing atmosphere. Food is ok with staples like gammon egg & chips and Burgers with a mountain of cheese 😁. If you just want to keep it simple this the place.

After ordering the food took nearly 25 minutes to come although the cafe was only half full , I ordered the Welsh rarebit which I’ve had before and it was about 6 inches square but this time it was 4 inches square , stodgy and only warm with about 12 small salad leaves , a tiny portion of food for £7.99 . My friend had a bowl of mushroom soup which also was a tiny portion , only warm and watery not thick as you expect soup to be ,again £7.99. We have been eating there for at least 15 years but will not be going again as it is very expensive and poor quality food with not very friendly staff

A once lovely village pub has now been ruined by the current manager. Many locals have since had to drink in other establishments within the village after many years at the Half Moon. Racial Discrimination was never a part of this place until now. This has no place in our village let alone in society.

I don’t normally make reviews like this in fact i didn’t initially want to however i feel like i must be honest and sincere My mate and i came to this pub last night on the 15th of April 2025 initially to watch the champions league football match we ordered pints and watched the game when suddenly from behind one of staff members who was holding at least 4 beers on a tray dropped it right on me and my mate making the glass explode all other the floor and me and my mate soaked i understand that these frustrating incidents happen but what shocked me and my friend the most was that the lady did not even apologise to us instead it had to be another member of staff who was a witness apologised on behalf of the other girl this was not it as later that night a very small bottle that i had purchased in a corner shop earlier that night that i did not consume at the pub because i am aware it is disrespectful and not permitted so we had consumed a quarter of it beforehand and outside the pub i did not have a bag to put it in so instead i left it on the floor below the table bare in mind that i had not consumed alcohol at the pub which did not come from the pub as i went to the toilet they took it away from me they refused to give it back to me and they proceeded to put it in the bin in front of me i know i should not have resisted even though i tried to stay calm and composed the staff rudely kicked me out and the lady even got 2 male staff members to chase me out all i wanted was my bottle back i had spent 18.99 at the shop for it i was not going to put it in the bin so i took the risk i understand it’s youre policy but the staff didn’t have to react in that manner i wouldn’t say that i would not recommend this place because the location is nice and so is the decoration. Additionally it has got good football tv quality but it’s a shame that the staff were acting so rudely in fact i’m pretty sure that because me and my mate are young 18 year olds the staff treated us with less respect as they would normally do to other customers and made us feel less welcome in some way i talked about it with my mate and he agreed about the feeling of discrimination as they were giving a “ go home little boys " type of vibe in conclusion not satisfied at all 70 pounds worth of clothes ruined for both me and my friend not an apology a 20 quid bottle gone and being chased out in a aggressive way after we bought 2 pints each from the pub not good enough we tried to remain tranquil and polite all night

Food 2 out of 10 waited one hour for mains , wrong drinks order lots of people complaining. Used to be a good pub and restaurant okay for drinks at the bar but would not be returning for food.
