Glistening floors and wall to wall delights. Staines sainsburys is a truly magical experience. You can sample titillating tastes of the local area. First you are greeted with the fresh fruit and veg typically coupled with a discarded trolley covering the prepared fruit section. Next up is the meat section followed by the deli and butcher where you can grab all the meat for twice the price of the section you just left. Moving round we see the wall of booze closely entwined with the local crack heads measuring the volume of their coat pockets with mini wine bottle rulers. Tucking back into the middle aisles we can navigate through the 'health food' vegan section, full of zombie looking vegan corpses and students oxymoronically complaining of money woes and filling their basket with edemame bean spaghetti. At the far end of the store is the freezer section, home to chips, puddings and any of the crack heads whose pockets couldn't fit the wine in. The tills are generally well manned/womaned yet till selection can be important. Remember the ever-flustered Surrey mother frantically combing through her suitcase of a purse for her nectar card amongst the myriad of coffee club loyalty cards can cause disruption. All in all this experience is uplifting, empowering and sometimes quite moving. There is free wifi and a security guard. The ceiling is above the floor and who gives a shit. It's a supermarket. You can buy shit. Mostly they have what you want and it cost what you think. Peace.

Another great stay at The Swan. From the moment we walk in, there is a friendly welcome. Warm, clean, and a great atmosphere. The staff are so lovely and go above and beyond. We love trying all the various Artisan teas and coffees in our room. The gorgeous lotions and potions are a treat too. We had a balcony room looking over the Thames. Great views. It's not noisy, despite it being the weekend and very busy. The room we had is quirky, and has a very sloping floor which adds character to its age. We sleep at the opposite end of the bed, as its a steep slope, lying on the bed. The mattress and pillows are very comfortable. The room beautiful. Everything is very clean. The breakfast has a great variety and cooked exceptionally. So much choice, with yet more views onto the river. The staff as always attentiveness in every way. My one tiny gripe, is that the coffee is bitter, but that's personal preference and easily overlooked. Close to staines shopping centre and Egham, with Windsor just up the road. We love staying here and will definitely return in the near future.

Great flavors and value for money. Whilst the ambiance was a little lacking the food was very tasty. Great if you're a foodie, you won't be disappointed.
