Visited for the cider harvest weekend. Lots of bands for entertainment and a hog roast and sweet stand besides the usual pizza and cider, beer and wine. Busiest I've seen it and this caused some problems later with food orders. The staff were excellent although not everyone would agree as there a few rude people complaining about their late food. We visited with a large group and everyone had a great time. We'll look out for special events next year. Definitely worth a visit if you live in/ visit Canterbury.

Wine tasting with Howard was awesome - we also stayed in the bell tents - we aren’t usual campers but it was so good, really great set up including bathrooms, showers etc. the staff were lovely and really friendly and the food at the barn really convenient

We ate here in March on a Saturday at lunch time, we got there about 12.30, there were already quite a few people seated, and many more came in after us. On the specials board were tempura prawns for starter which I had, hubby had calamari, both were nice and tasty. Mains were paella for my hubby, he loves paella but can not have it as mostly for 2 people, he loved it and was managed a marmalade steam pudding with custard for dessert, he said it was very light and delicious,I had the fillet steak, which I had asked to be cooked medium, but unfortunately was well done, hence I dropped a star. Friendly owner, good parking and reasonably priced

Perfect for Mothering Sunday. We all had whitebait, roast sirloin and apple and pear crumble. Everything home cooked perfectly, they even made thier own tartare sauce. The Landlady and her staff demonstated perfect hospitality and service. They were just delightful. Lovely atmosphere with no shouty people. The village is exquisite with a beautiful river running through it. Quiet and tranquil.

Our second visit. Last time we had their home made pizza in the large garden area but it was a bit chilly today so we went inside. We were quickly welcomed and given a menu, finding ourselves a table from where we could see the river. You give your table number at the bar when you place your order. My wife was pleased to find they had her favourite Hendicks gin and Fevertree tonic. I had a pint of crisp Spitfire lager. Our burgers were clearly home made with quality ingredients. Looked as good as they tasted. Delicious, as were the skin on fries. The service was friendly and despite them.being busy, prompt. My wife said it would make a great wedding venue before we noticed another room clearly laid out for such an occasion. Even if you are not going on the boat trip, this place is worth seeking out whether for a refreshing drink or excellent food.
