The best restaurants in North West

I called in to order a takeaway and was completely ignored.

Formerly known as Nasib Tandoori on Kew Road in Birkdale, this Indian take-away has new owners and a new name - The Tandoori. (I believe it is now owned & run by the people behind Kasturi on Eastbank Street in Southport town-centre.) On entering, I particularly liked the view through to the kitchen - giving me confidence in their offer. Selecting from a smart and comprehensive menu, I ordered the following: King Prawn Danchak (£9) Mushroon Rice (£2.60) Aloo Gobi side dish (£2.75) They advised me waiting time was 30 minutes and the food was ready in about 25 mins. All dishes were enjoyable. Decent portion sizes and good prices. The King Prawn dish had 10 large prawns which were very tasty. I asked for my vegetable dish to be made hot and they got this right. All in all it was pretty good and I`ll be back. Main course chicken curry is a very reasonable £4.75 & boiled rice is £1.65, so you can eat from here without breaking the bank. Free parking directly outside the venue, on the road nearby, or across the road. PRO TIP: ring ahead to place your order on 01704 568637. If you collect and spend £15 or more, you are entitled to a portion of pakora & poppadoms for free!

It's quite expensive for what you get.But I suppose most places are like that of the moment. The food is pretty decent , but not anything special.

The smell of this place is divine and is very promising of the food to come. The food is flavourful, the portions are generous and the staff are lovely and polite. Absolute favourite!

We happened to stay in the area and got a take-away, not expecting the treat we were served: the onion bhajis were the best we‘ve had for decades, crisp and juicy, and we both commented how we last had bhajis like that in Leeds in the eighties. Our two mains were so delicious ( Indian summer and Rogan Josh), not just a thick sauce with meat pieces but a spicy blend of meat and veg. Perfect bhindi bhaji ( okra) and Nan rounded it off. If we didn’t live two hours drive away we‘d be back every week!

Delicious authentic Persian food. Lovely friendly lady looked after us very well. Will definitely be going again and would recommend.

Pancakes were amazing! Milkshake was perfect. The service from the delivery driver is top class so friendly.

Absolutely amazing, flavourful food. We got the mixed platter for 4. The lamb chops and lamb cubes were soft as butter, fresh food, complimentry fresh bread, and pickles, The portions were huge that we had 3 boxes packed, and we were stuffed. Service was excellent, especially the young lady at the till who gave my daughter a free cake, will definitely be back again to try the other dishes. Would highly recommend.

Great food and wine, brilliant service and charming atmosphere. You need to be noise tolerant as music from downstairs is invasive.

Got a delivery on Sunday and thought I had to review because it was amazing, we’re all veggie and there’s plenty of options. food hot and really tasty will be ordering again soon also fab because not many places deliver to sabden massive thumbs up from us

We chose The Waterside for a family occasion. Staff were super friendly, service was beyond excellent, the food was great and reasonably priced. Will definitely go again.
