We decided to eat out for Christmas dinner this year and chose Sparth house. Starter and main were fab. However dessert was dire. Popcorn cheesecake - more like yoghurt slop on top of biscuit base, not nice at all!

It was our Christmas outing and the meal was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Home made veg soup to begin: very tasty and wholesome accompanied by a roll which melted in the mouth. Traditional turkey roast dinner was the main. With generous proportions all round, it was the bacon stuffing that was the unexpected and enthusiastically received talking point of the dinner. I'd like to return on that one count alone! A delightfully prepared Christmas pudding drenched in custard, followed by fudge and coffee brought the very satisfying meal to a close. All the food was hot and not overburdened by over indulgent seasoning and was cheerfully delivered by two efficient waitresses. This was a venue to remember.

Went here for a Sunday lunch, family of 4 adults. The menu choices were great and there was something to appeal to everyone. The food was sublime and the staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. The Sunday menu is excellent value for money and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great meal in the Clayton area.

Really nice wedding, staff extremely helpful and polite. Nothing was too much trouble. Room was a little tired and a little expensive for the size and quality. Very good buffet breakfast. Food for the wedding was excellent quality and plentiful, drinks reasonably priced and a good selection behind the bar.

A lovely birthday meal was had here. A grand venue with gardens and very attentive staff. I had the sea bass and it was cooked to perfection! 😉

Four of us stayed for the weekend at Sparth House and decided to dine in on both evenings. The service was very good and there was enough choice on the menu (it was the same both nights) for us to have different dishes. Having said which, I especially enjoyed the chilli prawns as a starter and the chocolate fudge dessert, so I had them both nights running. There was a good choice of wines as well, at reasonable prices. We will definitely be back!

We visited the Sparth House today for a baby shower. Eight of us had afternoon tea in the Oak Room and we had the most wonderful time. Adele of Sparth House was a most impressive host, nothing was too much trouble for her and she went out of her way to make sure everything was just right for us. The afternoon tea was lovely, tasty and ample, the surroundings inviting, clean and attractive, the atmosphere was calm, pleasant and relaxing and Adele looked after us as though we were VIPs. A most memorable afternoon which gave us lots of happy memories and joy. Will definitely be going back again and recommend anyone to go. Thank you Adele and the Sparth House

We haven't been here for a few years as we live out of the area. As soon as we walked in, it was warm and welcoming. The staff are lovely and attentive. There is a good choice on the menu. The food was divine. We will definitely be back! Thank you. Oct 2024 We have been back a few times since the post above, and we were never disappointed. Yesterday we celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary there with family and friends. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food. Thank you very much for your attentive service.
