We’ve been to Gibbon Bridge on several occasions over the years and it was always excellent. We couldn’t fault the staff, they were friendly and attentive. I noticed that some of the dishes have been on the menu for years. The food was lovely. The dessert menu was somewhat boring. Apple pie, sticky toffee pudding, crème brûlée etc. What I did object to was being charged almost £9 for a glass of Prosecco!! I’ve paid less in Manchester and Cheshire. A pleasant enough evening, but I don’t think we’ll go out of our way to return. We have an excellent 4 star restaurant on our doorstep, think we’ll stick to that

We took our three friends here (five of us in total) for a 50th anniversary lunch travelling 40 miles to try this restaurant. The welcome, bar service, quality of food and service were excellent. What a shame with regard to two out of the four cod mains. Two mains were adequate sized portions circa 2.5 cm thick and what you expect. The other two were poor, very thin, very small tail end pieces. I brought this to the attention of one of the restaurant servers and asked him to let the chef know that this was unsatisfactory and should not have been served. This is not a cheap place for lunch and it was disappointing that the restaurant risks its reputation by serving such poor cuts, when everything else was fine. A shame too that no-one apologised or came over to see us and as all the diners had been served, the chef or management wouldn't have been too busy to take a moment or two to talk to me. The server just advised that my feedback to the chef would be passed on. I mentioned the issue again when I paid the bill and received the same comment. Had the cod been up to scratch, I would have scored this place a 5.

Christmas afternoon tea was wonderful. Excellent food, good service and a great atmosphere with a pianist playing Christmas carols. An added bonus was his daughter singing to us. An excellent afternoon out and a wonderful treat for my mother and I.

We were walk-ins on a busy bank holiday for a late lunch. We really enjoyed our steak and ale pie and a seafood platter. We couldn’t fault the quality of the food and friendly service. We’ll definitely be returning. Thank you Waddington Arms.

We was in Clitheroe early morning & had two hours to pass, We wandered through the town following signs to the market, unfortunately the market wasn't on, however we stumbled across this lovely little place, didn't look much from the exterior but was early & assumed they was setting up, We went in, got a friendly good morning asked if we was ok, sat down looked at the menu, plenty of choices to be had, we both opted for a smaller breakfast (black pudding was awesome) & coffee, we did swap an item out. The breakfast came quite quickly lovely presented & very hot! A slight mistake probably due to me swapping an item, the lady rectified the issue promptly & apologised. We said no harm done & appreciated the fact it was sorted quickly. Toilets was nice & clean, smelt fresh, Water bowl outside for your dog. If we visit Clitheroe again, we will 100% come here again, A lovely proper cafe!

Recommended by friends - we visited on a busy Friday Lunch. It’s just 10 mins from the M6 so dead easy to pop in when travelling Notth as we were. Lovely Gastro Pub menu with something for everyone, even a dog menu for our pooch! There’s a beautiful outside area but weather drove us inside. We opted for the Cauliflower Croquettes and Pork Belly Bites. Both were delicious. For main courses we tried the Crispy Hoi Sin Duck Salad and a home baked Cheese pie. Both offered hearty portions and were obviously cooked to order. We loved them both. Staff were super attentive and happy to chat. Sit in the restaurant rather than the bar if you’re looking for quieter experience. There’s a lovely roaring fire to cosy up to.
