A great cafe serving delicious food and the homemade cakes are by far the best. Nice to come here for food but also a great stop add after walking the tolken trails! Lots of lovely walks around . Dog Friendly and the staff are lovely too.

My friend was going to an auction and going to have her tea at the auction cafe. Cafe clean and very basic. The food was amazing. Good basic well cooked staple recipes. I had lasagne. My friend had shepherds pie. Was absolutely gorgeous. You could have it with chips, beans, peas or gravy - or all the lot! Plate full and cup of coffee £4.50 Can take out so I am going to get some for my freezer. Beats supermarket ready meals. Did not study the menu but noticed plate pies and sausages. Puddings and cakes looked good too.

As a wedding venue this place is amazing. The food, setting, everything for the wedding was perfect. We have a really lovely day. Our problem was the rooms. We had room 4 which has no window to the outside. There is a frosted window to a corridor. No air conditioning or ventilation and a small double bed. This was just horrendous, we got a taxi back to Bolton at 1.30am as we couldn’t sleep. Several of the rooms are the same with no window to the outside. I’m abit claustrophobic so this was just awful. The room needs a king size bed and at least a fan / air conditioning.

Do not stay here. We stayed and we felt we were in the film The Shining. Very shabby and was just left with no hotel staff on the premises. It was very expensive as well, the hotel down the road was considerably cheaper and so much nicer. We booked for 2 nights but stayed only 1. We requested a refund as we felt it was pure false advertising but was refused. Please, do not stay here you will hate it

Had a marvellous night at the Shireburn. We came as a group in March last year and the service, room and meals this time were all even more outstanding. Peter, the Hotel receptionist/manager treated us like royalty and could not have been more helpful. We had a dinner bed and breakfast deal and he sorted out the menu and breakfast for us which really made our stay. Good facilities. Upgraded rooms were very clean and well appointed. Good Games Room and lounge for relaxing. The walks around the village are stunning with views over the valley and up to Pendle Hill.
