My friend was going to an auction and going to have her tea at the auction cafe. Cafe clean and very basic. The food was amazing. Good basic well cooked staple recipes. I had lasagne. My friend had shepherds pie. Was absolutely gorgeous. You could have it with chips, beans, peas or gravy - or all the lot! Plate full and cup of coffee £4.50 Can take out so I am going to get some for my freezer. Beats supermarket ready meals. Did not study the menu but noticed plate pies and sausages. Puddings and cakes looked good too.

I can't quite describe how tasteless the food is. Even the vinegar tastes of nothing. You could walk outside, take a deep breath and experience more flavour than in your entire meal. Also, no matter what time you go to order, there is always something that they've run out of, guaranteed. The only reason I haven't given it 1/5 is because the service is alright and the food doesn't actually taste bad, because it has no taste at all.

Ya sea en la subasta por "plumas de % de peletería" o simplemente 1 de los mercados de agricultores o el domingo carboot, en cualquier momento, es un buen momento para visitar la cafetería!

Simple no nonsense food served with no frills or fuss. This is ideal for busy auction goers and most welcome on those cold wet Lancashire days

This is a good and well organised auction mart. Lots of different types of auctions. And a boot sale on Sundays

I have had the Lasagne, & another time fish pie. Both were well make, quality & very tasty. The portions are good to generous. Its great value for money, best value in the Ribble Valley.

Had a full English and neither of us could eat it. It was cooked in some foul tasting oil. When we pointed this out the Guy was very defensive and completely ignored us when we said goodbye on leaving even though we paid in full.

Closed down, don't waste your time going. This business is no longer trading, it's a shame because it looks lovely. The abbey is still open but not the café

Lovely little cafe on the way between Chatburn and Downham. It's such a peaceful place looking out over the gorgeous rolling hills of Lancashire and Yorkshire. The chefs clearly take pride in their craft which is evident in their lovely sandwiches. I'll definitely be back!
