The best restaurants in Gowy Cheshire West and Chester North West

Beautiful peaceful location. Lovely fresh food. Its so good they don't need to signpost where they are! Had a lovely breakfast/brunch there, vegetarian and full carnivore versions. Tasted really fresh. Friendly staff, the full deal, try it.

Calm Sunday evening meal. Newly fitted out dining area. Lovely new furniture and decoration. No problem being seated into the dining room without a booking. Drink order taken quickly, and food order taken after a short wait. Service friendly and helpful. Sauces and condiments on hand if needed. Pleasant visit all round.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The welcome was warm and everyone I encountered (staff and locals) were extremely friendly. The room itself was large, clean and comfortable. I didn’t eat here but can highly recommend the banoffee rum!

The steak and the lamb shank were delicious. The cheesecake was amazing.

Amazing food, fantastic service from Ffion, The Goshawk is an excellent pub in a fantastic setting! I will be returning very soon!

Unfortunately there wasn’t a minus option so had to give 1 star, wish I had read the previous reviews, the owners clearly don’t care or read the reviews themselves. Was told it was table service but it wasn’t and had to visit the bar along with other tables to get attention. Staff clearly haven’t been given a role or shown how to wait on, the whole experience was just an embarrassment to the restaurant industry. So far we have waited 1 hour 50 minutes (and counting) for our main meal and there is at least 2/3rd of the pub & restaurant empty. Every table around us is saying the same and have had to constantly go up to the bar to prompt anyone for food or drink. The poor waiting on girls need direction but the management team clearly haven’t no idea how to run a restaurant or train their staff. And still waiting….
