I really enjoyed my stay here. The welcome was warm and everyone I encountered (staff and locals) were extremely friendly. The room itself was large, clean and comfortable. I didn’t eat here but can highly recommend the banoffee rum!

We received a good welcome. Not rushed. Served all nine of us easily. Top quality Sunday Lunch: Vegetarian, Beef or Chicken chooses. I had the chicken which while being huge was also very tasty. Lovely lovely gravy. Very reasonable prices. Would certainly recommend this place.

We have tradespeople staying whilst we build our extension and Nuno could not be more accommodating from the excellent food served at very reasonable prices to the very comfortable bedrooms which are clean and serve the purpose very well. The staff and patrons are very friendly enjoying great community spirit. We would have no reservations in recommending this hostelry to anyone for any occasion.

We had an absolutely fantastic night in this pub. The food was fantastic and very reasonably priced. The service was also first class. The bar lady anticipated my need for another drink numerous times, a rare skill indeed. Lovely décor and they even allowed us to park our van in the car park over night to sleep off the ale. Breakfast was even offered the following morning. I don't write many reviews but this place is worth a stop.

I am staying at BW for work and booked dinner at Hilltops on my first night. I was initially nervous that there didn't appear to be anything suitable for vegans on the menu, but I double checked with the receptionist, who was very helpful and communicated my request to the restaurant. This was a short-notice request, so I was not expecting much, but the chefs went above and beyond. The tofu & veg curry was really tasty, and the choc fudge cake was delicious. I couldn't eat it all in one sitting, but the team prepared the leftovers for me to take to my room and eat later. Thank you to the talented kitchen team and wonderful front of house team at Hilltops!

We were visiting the Anderton Boat Lift which is just 10 minutes down the towpath from The Moorings. As the coffee shop there was quite full after the boat trip we decided to try somewhere else close by. The Moorings is a little gem of a place, run by chefs, so expect hotel like presentation of excellent food, which is worth waiting for. This is a totally different dining experience from the usual canal side cafe. Dogs are allowed inside on the hard floor area, but we sat outside with ours as it was a beautiful day and we could admire the canal boats in the marina.
