The best restaurants in North West

An unexpected find of a gem of a cafe. Excellent food cooked and served with love. Well worth walking up the steps for this little treasure.

Me and my partner decided to try this place since it had very good reviews and was relatively close to where we’re staying. To begin with the staff was quite rude which we ignored since anyone can have a bad day. The duck was ok, dry but edible but little did we know the worst was to come. The special fried rice tasted burnt and had massive egg shells in it! We couldn’t even finish it. The chow mein had a very odd taste and again we couldn’t even finish it. It was a complete disappointment and a waste of money!! Would never comeback and would absolutely never recommend going there, in my opinion shouldn’t even be opened it’s an absolute health and safety hazard.

Food menu is small for dinner and evenings. Plenty of choices of beers. Dog friendly place so can get noisy with barking. Would go again though.

It was my first time visiting the restaurant. After reading the reviews earlier, I asked about the waiting time before placing my order through the app, which showed 40 minutes. The waitress assured me it wouldn't take that long and mentioned that the wait time also depended on the food I ordered. I double-checked with the waitress after I placed order. she said it would take only 10–15 minutes. However, after 30 minutes, it was still not ready—or even close—when I returned to check on my daughter, who was waiting. The waitress apologized, saying they had big orders to prepare, yet the number of guests remained the same as when we first arrived. By the way, neither the first-order discount nor the takeaway discount was applied. I ended up canceling the order as it was nearly 9 p.m. This place truly tests your patience if you have a goal. First and last visit for me. Before I left the restaurant, the staff confirmed that the order had been cancelled. After a week, I could only see the charge for the order—no refund. I called the restaurant, and it turned out the refund was never processed. Another test of patience.

Beautiful restaurant & food, great service

Had a wonderful affogato, which is one of my fave drinks, and my mother had a hot chocolate which she really enjoyed. Lovely coffee bar, great drinks, helpful staff and nice atmosphere. Will visit again!

Gluten free food excellent with great friendly service

One of two amazing takeaways in the Wigan area, will definitely be coming back , ordered the treat box and I was blown away with how nice it was! Service was amazing and the staff are so friendly, no delayed times or messing around , going to be my regular from now on ☺️

Just eaten for the first time in nice nickle kitchen newbrighton and myself and Robbie were absolutely delighted with the food and staff Hannah was very helpful and pleasant. The best way to go !!!was having your own big gravy pot so no asking for more. The Chardonnay was the best … you have the best Sunday roast ….dearer than a lot of places but well worth it.👍😜 Maria & Robbie

Didn't eat here but the cocktails are brilliant & the music is fab. Will return.
