I was having a day out at Redcar and stumbled upon Russells on the sea front. I had Haddock and chips. They were freshly cooked while I waited. The BEST fish and chips I have had for years. The delightful couple who were serving - possibly Mr and Mrs Russell but don't wish to presume - were so friendly and obliging.
Had Sunday lunch there last week. The food was great, Really large portions and neither of us could eat it all, good selection of vegetables and the staff are really friendly and helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed the visit. We will be back.
Went here for coffee and a cake. We had flat whites and a scoundrel. They were quickly served and the coffees were strong and tasty. The scoundrels were a type of cake/biscuit with nuts and fruit in and glacé cherries on top.
Taste is a small shop based coffee house and when we went was quite busy. As the ground floor was full we went to the downstairs lounge. This was comfy.
A good place for good coffee.
My sister and I visited for lunch today to help them celebrate their first birthday in business. Food and service were just fantastic. We love coming up from Chester-le-Street for lunch. We’ve never been disappointed right from the word go. The food is brilliant but it’s not just that it’s the staff and the atmosphere too. And today was just tremendous. The steaks were absolutely perfect. Ariano’s is a real community asset and we look forward to many more visits. In fact I’m coming with another group of friends later next week. You just can’t keep me away. Well done to everyone. ❤️❤️❤️
I have now been to Wishbone a few times and I have never been disappointed. The atmosphere, drinks and starters are all individually incredible and come together to create the perfect segway into the best chicken you can find in Durham. For a very reasonable price, get ready to have your mind blown. Incredible flavours and unique combinations… my personal favourite is the Sichuan pepper wing. I cannot recommend it enough, and even better - you can order alongside all the phenomenal food found in Barrio Comida, above!
Visited for Saturday brunch with 4 family members. We all tried something different and every dish was excellent - from the epic Desi breakfast to the superlative lamb biryani to the creamy chai and hearty full English, everyone left full and impressed with the delicious food. Nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff and the prices were very reasonable. We will be back!
We visited on a Saturday evening and were surprised to find it very quiet, this may be because they do most business in the daytime and close at 8pm. The food was lovely and fresh. Some of the dishes could so with some more spice but they were very tasty and the menu had lots of options we’d come back to try again Some optional mexican hot sauces for the table would be a good addition. Desserts were especially good too.
