Sorry for the late review A friend of mine had been going on about this cocktail bar for months so I finally got to check it out and I must say it did not disappoint! There were plenty of cocktails to choose from and if like me you don't know what to get just the staff what you like, sweet, sour, bitter and they'll make you one. I can't wait to go back soon

I really enjoyed this pizza. I ate on the pavement watching the world go by I’m the characterful Exmouth Market. Service was very nice and they are really dog friendly - dog treats, not just a water bowl! It’s a good spot.

Great takeaway. We went to pick up and waited, they were very friendly and it was delicious food. Our feedback would be, they were slightly too sweet, the korma and sag paneer in particular. We should have chosen one spicier dish. Also the naans could be a little bit more crispy (less doughy). All in all great however, and we will be returning

Reserved a table online. On arrival the restaurant was nearly empty, and no-one bothered asking me if I had a reservation. When I mentioned this, they showed little interest. Given they charge a fee for not turning up, I was keen they matched my arrival to the online booking, but again little interest. I was eventually shown to the table by a rather aloof and unhappy lady, who eventually brought me a menu. No attempt to explain the menu or recommend anything. They did listen to allergy-related information and assured me things are carefully handled. However again the attitude didn't give me much confidence (lady was unfamiliar with the menu, albeit the menu didn't look like it had anything on it to which I was allergic). All the above being said, the food was good and came out reasonably quickly. So 5/5 for food, 1/5 for service. I'm nicely giving it a 4/5 in total. Royal Hospital Road it isn't...

Incredible food! A lovely warm atmosphere and the staff are very nice. A very good selection of gluten free options, and they have gluten free soy sauce too! Great choice for coeliacs/gluten free - I’ve been here many times and will continue to come back.

Such an incredible vibe, the food was immaculate. A great middle ground between fine dining and regular good food. The food was amazing, I’m a vegetarian and constantly get let down by good food places but this was amazing! Get the set menu 10/10 recommend. The little touches are great, staff are super friendly, they even have a little printed list to give you of all the bars they recommend after. Insane food, will be back!

Nice atmosphere. I ate outside and it was very busy. Pizza was very good as was the spaghetti balls. Friendly service, would return.

We were so excited to go here, judging by the lovely photos on the professional looking website. Well, that's obviously were all the money was spent! This place is the opposite of the photos: brown, drab and musty. No atmosphere. They serve Japanese prosecco, which was disgusting. We left before finishing our drinks and went to one of the many other options in the area and had a great time - in the end. Really, don't bother.

Disappointing first & last visit here. Came with a friend for her birthday and had arrived early to an empty restaurant & we looked to sit at the first table we saw. Staff looked at us with disdain (we were nicely dressed) and came over to see if we'd reserved- we hadn't, so they said we couldn't sit as they needed that table (it was 515pm) in an hour for a booking. We asked if they could accommodate us and reluctantly they then suggested a table in a dark separate room at the back of the restaurant.. we said no and asked if we could sit outside (there were some unused tables) but that was also a no from Shawarma team. So we pointed at a barside table and asked about that and they eventually acceded. We ordered our food and cocktails and cannot fault the food - it is delicious. However the service was poor & unwelcoming from start to finish. Eg, the table we originally went to, was not inhabited till 630pm so much more than an hour after our arrival, we could have sat there. Midway through our meal we noted the staff organise the unused tables to accommodate another few pairs of friends - yet it was a problem when we asked for us? We were made to feel rushed before and during our food by the staff so when it came for the bill, I requested the discretionary service charge be removed from the bill as we felt there hadn't been a good customer service at all. The male waiter then argued with me and asked why & that it wasnt possible, so I tried to explain our reasons - especially since service charge is not obliged in the UK. He did not like this at all and spoke loudly over me and went to get his supervisor. She then refused to let us speak and proceeded to say loudly that her colleague was correct and we tried to explain our reasons and how we felt we'd been treated but she flat out refused to listen, constantly talking over us saying "sorry you feel like that" in a totally condescending manner and completely vindicating our rationale for removing the tip. I have not experienced such awful and unprofessional restaurant interaction before. I would recommend the food but because the service and treatment from the staff is so awful that I'd prefer to go to one of the many other places on that street. So disappointing especially as it could have spoiled my friend's birthday and this is an independent venue, and we prefer to support those instead of chains but I would not recommend this place at all.
