Really nice katsu curry for a good price

Super delicious food, and it's ready faster than you'd think! I was genuinely amazed at how tasty the chicken was (I tried the katsu and the teriaki).

We took away a salad which was delicious and 2 already prepared sushi dishes, unfortunately the rice on one of them was extremely dry. The lady was very kind and she was keen to serve us well.

Loved the quick service, Hot dishes mostly comes with veggies and with the salad as well as a good portion and it’s worthy.Customer service is brilliant, sushi seems to be different and the unique one u ever had it. Katsuma seems to be the better place for the perfect sushi and hot Japanese dishes experience.

So fresh sushi and salmon teriyaki was just wow.Best best best .

This is a great place - enjoyed our dinner here. Good Veggie options and the owners are delight to speak to. Everything is freshly made and feels like a lot of love goes in preparing the food. A great touch is the green tea at the end to digest the deliciously made food. They also offer catering services if you require.

Very ordinary sushi. And quite expensive. Disappointing

I had teriyaki salmon don there and it was pretty bad and too sweet. The salmon was like the thinnest salmon I’ve ever seen in my life. Based on the texture and how quick it was served, it was probably precooked and microwaved. Sorry to be harsh but it’s just very bad, and They should not serve it even though you want to use the expired salmon for something.

Great option for good quality lunch! I've had lunch takeaway a few times and really enjoyed the flavours. The chicken katsu curry, the aubergine katsu curry and the korean fried chicken - all with rice - were my favourites. Hard to pick one. Definitely recommended if you're in the area and a good option for delivery I suppose.

The food is very nice. I recommend the rolls / makinas they were freshly served; we also got a free green tea. Yay! We will definitely come back.

Relaxed placed. Huge portion sizes great value for money. Did not skimp on the salmon in the sushi. Loved it.

I would order from Katsuma all the time when living in the neighbourhood 2 years ago - food was amazing and would always recommend to friends. This time, Id have to give them two stars because the portions have shrunk, and I mean rather significantly. Shrinkflation I suppose...

Excellent choice for japanese take away

I have to say that I am quite disappointed with this place. The salmon teriyaki box came with three little thin pieces of salmon. It looks like the piece that they use to make sushi. The staff told me that it came with veggies. It was potatoes, two pieces of thin onions and a couple of peppers as shown in the photo. The rice was very over cooked, half way through porridge. The miso soup was small with nothing in it that they charged £3.75. I do not understand the good review. Maybe sushi is better and I ordered the wrong dishes.

Fresh and tasty sushi. Even the miso soup was superior! They have pre-prepared lunch boxes available which is perfect when you’re on the go. The prices are reasonable for the quality. Will come back 😎

Katsuma catered for a well being day I was putting on for my colleagues and everyone absolutely loved the food! There is a wide range of hot dishes, salads and platters to choose from and the food is fresh, revitalizing and full of flavour, really delicious!! The service is excellent and ordering on line is easy. I would highly recommend for anyone arranging events (we were 24 people). Or to pop in for a healthy lunch. I go at least once a week now :-) Thank you to everyone at Katsuma for all your hard work yesterday! :-) Zoe

This place is terrific- fantastic fresh sashimi and a great poke bowl. Not expensive. Basic eat-in with no alcohol license. Worth a detour.

Would recommend to all the fans of Japanese cuisine. This is the first place in london where I have gotten fresh and delicious sushi. The staff is always very kind and the prices are fair to the quality of food. Definitely coming back and I would definitely recommend for anyone to visit!

My favourite japanese takeaway in London so far. The sushi quality is literally on par with the michelin-level japanese restaurants I’ve visited. Definitely a hidden jem for japanese food.

Intimiate neighbourhood sushi restaurant. The owner is friendly and easily approachable. The sushi collection is not that extensive but then if you have a request they able to accomodate it.

So this place is definitely expensive. I pay about 12.50 for a poke bowl but I love it. They have such good quality food and it’s super quick. I also love their spicy Mayo sauce. I got a pot to go and it was really delicious. It’s more than I like to pay for poke but I really enjoy it.

Great little sushi spot on a back street. I just stumbled on this in my lunch break. I had a sushi box which was perfect in size and very high quality. I intend to return for the katsu which looked very popular and seemed to be what caused a queue to form out of the door. Great spot for a quick lunch either to have in or to go.

Great quality food at very competitive prices. Menu is not extensive, however I feel this works to their advantage to ensure everything they do offer is top quality.

Quick and tasty - amazing array of choices (avoided the fridges and went for fresh made food) the black cod tempura don and aburi salmon chirashi sushi bowl were awesom

For a work lunch recently, I ordered three large platters of sushi to be delivered at our offices nearby. I had researched lots of places nearby but Katsuma looked to have the best variety. I was not disappointed. Ordering by phone and delivery on the day went smoothly. The platters looked amazing and tasted great- so fresh!! Everyone was impressed with the quality and variety of the sushi. We were also given lots of soy sauce and wasabi as an accompaniment. Would definitely recommend!

Best takeaway in the area. The chicken curry is amazing. The quality of sushis are pretty good too. Usually very busy around lunchtime.

Great tasty food for a daily hearty lunch. If you want to be served quickly, then order a chicken Katsu. Everything else you'll have to wait :)

Lovely katsu, decent prices, fresh food, it's the favourite place for lunch in my office and well deserved!

Bad: Not the best sushi - salmon was not the freshest (even at lunchtime, which I thought would mean it wasn’t sitting there for too long); rice was crumbly and dry. Miso soup was weirdly spicy. Good: generous portion for meal deal; good portion of sashimi supplied with bowl. Seems very popular for hot food but I haven’t tried so can’t comment directly. Overall: Not the best price for money (in comparison with places such as EAT Tokyo); I wouldn’t go out of the way to eat here, but a good local lunch spot if you are craving Japanese.

Update the restaurant timings for Saturday and Sunday!!! Extremely disappointed. I’ll change my review if the timings are updated

This place doesn't make the best Sushi in London by any stretch, the taste and skill on the rolls is not the same as other Japanese restaurants like Eat Tokyo or Sushi Show, but I still LOVE this place and give it five stars because the quality/price ratio is spectacular and you can only applaud this love and effort for the customer. I always order in Deliveroo the 50 set and you get so much bang for your money. Big chunks of fish, all very good quality and loads of it. The chicken Karage is also amazing. I don't think you can find better value for money in London for this quality and quantity. Please never change and keep it up!

I have a different opinion. Last week I found some old cauliflowers in my dish, today I bought black cod with rice and the fish was not fully fried. The only thing worse than the chef was the 'manager ' shouting and disrespectful toward clients. I do not recommend this place.

Best Sushi place I've been to in Clerkenwell/Farringdon. Waitrose has a sushi counter a little further down the road, but it doesn't come close to the level of quality at Katsuma. It is also much better value. You get a lot more (higher quality) fish in a Katsuma meal vs Waitrose. Same prices. Katsuma care about where they source their ingredients, and it shows. Katsu curry is as good as the sushi. Highly, highly recommend.

Delightful find! Was looking for a quick takeaway and found this place by accident. High quality, fresh and delicious sashimi at such reasonable prices! £11 for a chirashidon, £7 for spicy tuna uramaki. Definitely coming back soon for others!

Probably best value meal in London! Had the chicken rice bowl, miso soup and a drink for £8.95. That's seriously good value. Miso was some of the best I've had.

Lovely staff, but the quality of the chicken miso ramen was disappointing. We were expecting prime quality thighs and were surprised to find lots of chicken skin and cartilages. The other ingredients did not taste fresh either. The order was placed on a Sunday so perhaps not having the most fresh ingredients available. It's a shame, the reviews are generally very good which is why we hoped to have a good quality and tasty lunch. Maybe consider selling food left over from previous days at a lower price.

Wow. Just gotten takeaway and, as others have said, it's some of the finest Japanese food we've had in London. High quality, fresh ingredients, perfectly combined flavours and wonderfully friendly and helpful staff. A real gem in Clerkenwell

Everything we had was very high quality. In particular, the seared tuna sashimi, tempura black cod and miso soup were amazing. It was all good value for money. We will return.

Delicious food - perfect for a quick bite before seeing a band at The Slaughtered Lamb over the road. Pork Katsu was a generous serving and the Black Cod Tempura Don tasted great. Nice team serving and cooking in an open kitchen. Limited seating but we were the only ones dining in while a steady stream of collections and delivery came through - always a good sign!
