Kilis Kitchen in Islington

I did my birthday dinner here. Here are the highlights: Food: Absolutely delicious and very authentic Turkish/Lebanese dishes. Very tasty, great portions. Drinks: Excellent choices. Wine menu isn't extensive but does the job. Amazing cocktails - ordered old fashioned and probably one of the best I ever had. Staff: Super friendly and helpful and went extra mile by giving us two shots on the house. Atmosphere: We sat by the windows, and that area was very nice and interesting Middle Eastern decorations. The place is big so you can sit at the back of the restaurant if you want. Overall highly recommend it.

Went for a catch up lunch with a group of friends. Lovely little restaurant. Good food and service plus reasonable pricing.

We are regular customer of Kilis and come there for buffet breakfast at least once a month regularly. We come there normally with some other couples who I introduced to this place and they have been a regular customer since then. Until today, this place was my number 1 choice for Turkish breakfast. Compared to past: 1) Prices has gone up significantly. We paid today £25 per person for buffet breakfast. This breakfast is no longer worth for £25. 2) Quality of the food has been becoming worse since every recent visit. There used to be more fresh pide/pizza options, more bread and cheese choices and cold starters variety. This is no longer the case. 3) Some waiters are not polite and do not care about customers. Despite restaurant being almost empty, they gave us a seat at the corner, where 4 of us out of 8 people had to seat on the sofa. Meaning each time it was creating discomfort to go up and get food (everyone had to get up each time). I explained the situation and asked the waiter to move to the middle large table in the restaurant where we can all seat properly. But she rejected this and tried to explain that that table has been booked for another group of 9 people (we were 8 people). She suggested us to split tables, if we wish to sit comfortably (4 people in each table). This does not make sense right? You come with 8 people for group breakfast and you are asked to sit separately. I asked we can sit in the middle table, and you can offer this “solution” (“sit separately”) to the other customer group when they come later. Waiter desperately tried to explain, but this was disrespectful. 4) We were there from 11:05 till 13:00. After 1h, when the restaurant started to get busier, a waiter was coming in every 5 mins asking us if we finished food. Hence eventually we left at 13:00 after multiple rounds of being “asked” to leave.

I came earlier this month for a dîner with friends. Everything was delicious from the starters to the desert. I lived in Turkey for 3 years and this really reminded me of that time. I am definitely coming back!

Stunning restaurant in a great location! Service is brilliant and a few vegan options. Had one small issue but they rectified it quickly, so haven't been marked down for it.

Great for allergies and delicious. I have a long list of food intolerances, but the waiting staff could not have been more kind and helpful. Then the food was unbelievably good, I didn't want it to end!

Yesterday, my experience at Kilis Kitchen was extremely disappointing. While sitting outside, I was subjected to verbal harassment. Despite requesting assistance from the waiter three times to address the situation, no action was taken. Furthermore, the staff locked the door, leaving us feeling vulnerable and disregarded. This reflects a serious lapse in customer care and safety standards, which is unacceptable in any reputable establishment.I would advise others to consider this incident before deciding to dine at Kilis Kitchen.

Every plate is so tasty and served with care and on time. And Beyti Kebap was scrumptious. The only feedback can be about the chairs and the sofas at the back. Chairs are so hard and not very comfortable to sit on long hours. I hope you can replace them with better ones in the future.

Sorry for the photo. I wanted to write a review after tasting the food. We ordered mixed meze. It was simply perfect!! Perfect interpretation of traditional Turkish flavors. I recommend it to everyone!!

I recently visited Kilis, a Turkish restaurant, and had a great dining experience. The food was excellent — I tried the falafel and the chicken shish, both of which were fantastic. The cheesecake for dessert was also delicious. The service was decent, with the waiters being attentive enough. I appreciated their 3-meal offer, which provides good value for money. Overall, a solid choice for Turkish cuisine.

Marvellous food and service. 2nd time here in just over a month (visiting friends, I'm from Liverpool) and will be going again next time I'm in Islington. Food immaculately cooked and well presented,. You will not be disappointed

One of the best experience ever! Amazing food with super high quality,Although a bit expensive it really nice food. I ordered one Adana kebab and one pistachio Adana kebab both really amazing but the rice a bit low on portion! There is an old lady which serve us,super kind and helpful. Highly recommend guys!

The best Turkish restaurant I visited in London. Ate here from time to time when I was living nearby. Brought my friends here several times and they all loved the place and food. Lentil soup is the best and outstanding, maybe better than in many places in Turkey. Highly recommend

Fantastic, fresh and delicious Turkish-Lebanese food at Kilis as always. This hidden gem off Upper St never fails to disappoint. We had the two-course lunch special with shared starters and the Adana specials as mains. All in cost of £44 (incl service) is very reasonable. We've been with kids before and is great for families too. Will be back.

We had a lovely early evening meal here . We had a selection of dishes, mussels, calamari, dolma and kibbeh plus a few more , with a bottle of Malbec . All of the dishes were really tasty and in all good value for money. Will definitely return.

Wow amazing staff , amazing food , amazing ambience ! We came here after a visit to the nearby Kings Head Theatre ( also well worth a visit ) . The staff were so friendly and welcoming , it was a lovely evening and we sat outside which was a bonus. We had various courses including stuffed vine leaves , prawn skewers , tagliatelle etc all beautifully presented and cooked perfectly. We had wine which was reasonably priced and a "free " shot for each of us. We are back at the theatre in two weeks time so will be dining here again.

The place is amazing. The quality and freshness of food is spectacular.

Dinner was terrible I’ve been here before a few times but will never go back I ordered a starter which was cold and covered in pomegranate a small glass of red wine and a main course I asked for red mullet I’ve never seen mullet served like this it was little thin coated batter with bits of fish inside and a small salad again covered in pomegranate and some bread and fries desert was a small homemade rice pudding which was ok Terr bill came to £55 including 12 per cent Service charge a complete rip off and bad experience I will never go there again.

It's very delicious food and very good service. When we are in the Islington area we choose to eat there everytime cause it's really good food with good portions..

The most amazing Turkish breakfast you can find in London.

Came here for brunch. The food was incredible. Fresh, delicious and all you can eat! Service was very friendly. Price was reasonable. Definitely coming back.

We came here because it was late (after 10 pm) and the place we had intended to go was already closed. Our expectations were low. But the food was great. Turkish sausage, seafood rice, grilled octopus, all very good indeed. Beer choice was a bit sparse so I had a Chilean Merlot by the glass, which was very drinkable. (My wife had another wine by the glass, forgotten which, no complaints.) Music wasn't much to our taste, but not too loud, so it didn't ruin the meal. All in all a pleasant surprise and we intend to come back to have a more leisurely meal.

I had a very unpleasant experience here with rude staff and below average food despite the premium price. The staff and management would benefit from customer service training.

I had my birthday dinner celebration at this restaurant on 18th May. The staff were absolutely amazing, friendly, professional, helpful and accommodating, there were 42 of us in my party. I did pre book the section and I also pre ordrered the food from their set party menu which had a good selection of starters, mains and desserts. The service from all the staff was really nice and this added to the already calm and chilled atmosphere of the place. There was no time limit on the tables which also made it a pleasant experience. All my family members are saying the same thing, that they enjoyed themselves and really liked the food. We are already making plans to return.

Definitely Best Turkish food in town. I’d recommend Ali Nazik Kebap, kofte, lamb sis and kunefe. Quick service and friendly staff.

Perfectly located, cozy restaurant with nice staff. They cook delicious Lebanese food and have a wide menu. We shared a seafood salad and I has as main a Mixes Shish. Meat was tender and juicy, perfectly cook. It came with rice, a salad and an amazing sauce. I will come back

We came here for a late night dinner on a Sunday and had a lovely experience. The staff were really attentive and the service was quick. We shared a bottle of Turkish red wine, and had the vegetarian moussaka and mussels in cream sauce, and then shared a rice pudding for dessert. My partner was surprised how good the mussels were - he said they were cooked really well and the sauce was great. My moussaka was nice but not the best I’ve ever had (hence the four stars.) A highlight was the homemade chilli sauce for the table which was fantastic. The rice pudding was nice but a bit too thin/milky for my taste and could have been more flavourful. It was a warm day and really nice to sit outside. The restaurant had a relaxed atmosphere and the traditional decor made for great ambience. Toilets are upstairs, so not accessible.

Had a pleasure visiting the restaurant for my friend's bday dinner. The food was exceptional (garlic bread with cheese and mixed kebab done so well). Also tried the calamari and I shall be ordering that next time because it was delicious. Only reason I gave four stars because the restaurant is small. Overall I enjoyed the food.

Very good breakfast, but was a bit expensive. Service and the staff was quite good and helpful. Still, should be under 20 gbp in my opinion. Also was very loud when it got full, but felt like normal with all the crowd.

This is our meeting place with friends time to time. It is great open buffet breakfast on weekends including pide, unlimited tea and all other classic turkish breakfast stuff. We always spend couple of hours there. Definitely must go place. Location is suitable for people coming from different areas of London. Parking is okay too.

Had the lunch menu today and was served by Gunes which apparently means sunshine and she was great. We had the calamari, lamb kofte, salmon and chicken shish. The calamari and salmon was perfect as was the kofte. The chicken wasn’t great but overall we enjoyed. Side note they have a compulsory 12.5% service charge which we didn’t like but we would have tipped.

The homemade baklama is delicious, freshly made, daily basis. Pide was good and the price for it was ok. But overall prices are expensive. Mixed gril was I think 24 pound, but the portion was so small. I don’t know why Turkish restaurants are so expensive. But Kilis is better than many others, taste is so good.

I booked a table for 16 for a birthday celebration. The food and service were both excellent. couldn't fault anything. Highly recommended.

Outstanding customer service and nice food. However disappointed to observe the receipt and discover I was charged for the dinner menu rather than the lunchtime offer on the menu despite the fact I dined at lunch time with my seven year old daughter who literally ate spaghetti and broccoli. I was charged £60 for the two of our meals. I think way too overpriced for a lunch time stop over. Contacted management via email never heard back, so probably wouldn’t dine again for such an expensive lunch which said it would be half the price on the tin for a 3 course lunchtime option!

The best Turkish restaurant in Angel❤️ Spinach with olive oil has captured the taste of my Cretan mother-in-law. Grilled shrimp with puree and sauce might be the best shrimp I've ever eaten in my life. Words are not enough to describe the success of traditional Kilis and Turkish dishes. Note: Pita and baklava are as good as Turkey. Master Turk has been in this kitchen for 20 years, all ingredients come from Turkey Very recommend ❤️

Dined here 7 different times with various friends and family and every time, the staff are welcoming, the food is insanely good and my party have left thinking I know all the best places in London. Mixed mezze is an absolute must, it's the best I have had in London and the staff are always very helpful with recommendations. Great Turkish coffee too. It's great value for money and very low key!

Went there for a work do on weekday, it was pre booked for lunch menu, however initially they refused to give us the lunch menu as we were party of over 10. We argued and got the set menu, drinks were ordered separately. At the checkout we realized that they have charged us twice for service charge, once on drink and once on food. This is very unacceptable of the establishment as service charge is discretionary and we could have refused to pay but charging twice is just not a good customer service at all. Not happy with the treatment we received at this place.

We took 20 of our foreign friends to dinner. We had a wonderful evening. Each of them enjoyed their different dishes very much. The service, attention, relevance and comfort of the place were great. Everything we ate was delicious. The baklava they made was incredibly delicious. Thank you very much. We will be going often.

A venue that provides an overall good experience. Definitely worth a try and return.

We ordered mixed breakfast and 2 menemen for 4 people. The first thing I would like to point out is that I definitely do not think this is a breakfast worth its price. The standard mixed breakfast is the standard mixed breakfast found everywhere. We liked the first menemen and ordered the second menemen. 2. There was something strange about the taste of the menemen that came, it was really bad, it had a very strong meat taste, we reported it to the waiter and the waiter said let's ask the kitchen and no action was taken, at least they could change the menemen. A mixed breakfast for 4 people, 2 menemen and 4 Turkish coffees came to a total of 142 pounds.

A nice surprise on a Saturday eve food and atmosphere tops.I absolutely loved the hummus with the pastrami and both seconds that we ordered one better than the other. The Okra and the chick peas were delicious and so was the spicy vegetable accompaniment.

This place has 12.5 service charges and the service is really bad. For a bottle of wine they take 5 pounds to bring to table and rude personal and the food is not good at all. Not recommending

Killis has a warm Mediterranean ambience. The service is always great and the food is exceptional. It’s one of my top places in London.

Stopped spontaneously for cocktails on a busy Saturday night. Service was prompt, warm and friendly and the cocktails were delicious and beautifully presented. When a table freed up under a heat lamp (we were outside) they offered to move us over. Would definitely return to try the food.

The buffet breakfast is a hidden gem in London. A must visit! It runs on Sundays from 10.30am till 3.30pm.

Hit and miss in what you eat . Some dishes are great some are down right average . Salad was flaccid.... The staff are excellent very happy to assist you. The chef I suspect has been doing the job too long.

The menu had lots of gluten free options when we queried, and the staff were very knowledgable about Coeliac disease and allergies. The interior was lovely with traditional lanterns lighting up the restaurant. Thank you for a wonderful evening full of delicious food, laughter and great service!

I visit this cozy place regularly - I’m not fan of lamb however the lamb chops here is a must-try; and the chef’s chili sauce - just yummy…Quantity and quality all good, they welcome you as if you are back home, though you expect to wait longer for your orders during the busy hours - definitely more staff needed.

Great selection of Turkish food. I brought an Italian friend here to show some examples from Turkish cuisine. I didn't regret it. They also have an amazing brunch menu.

Excellent Turkish breakfast buffet. Warm dishes such as sujuc, sausages, menemen, etc. Selection of spreads, dips and salads, pastries, bread, sweets, honey jam cream butter, baklavas and deserts, cheeses, fruits, and more! They change the dishes and the trays often to keep everything fresh. Bright indoor space with glass ceiling, some outdoor tables too, lovely waiters, great service with unlimited tea. Perfect authentic turkish food experience, everyone who wants to try Turkish Food in London must go here. The lamb shish and baklava even much above the average compare to Turkey. Lamb shish 9/10 (Tender, juicy, smoky grill) Lahmacun (Meat flatbread) 8.5/10 Baklava 10/10 (Balanced, not so sweet, good pistachio) + tea :) Bread also will make you already feel like in Turkiye.

We were struggling to find a good place to eat and just discovered you accidentally when we saw the outside dining area and beautiful atmosphere. We all thought the food was exquisitely cooked and flavoured, the hosting was professional and effortless, service was efficient and you made us feel very welcome with the complimentary limoncello. We're looking forward to visiting you again, deliberately next time. We had the seafood platter, seafood linguine, pizza, shish kebab and veggie roasted aubergines. We loved our dinner-I couldn’t stop talking about my dish, as we each enjoyed a Turkish wine as well. Highly recommend the spice to go with the lamb.

Discovered this by chance, you can see that there is a real chef or chefs who love their job here. The service is very friendly too which is a plus.

We had a Sunday breakfast with family here based on a recommendation. All foods were amazingly delicious. You can have all Turkish breakfast hot and cold foods as well as marvellous kadayif and baklava. Highly recommended.

Delicious food, service was great

It was my first visit to Kilis Kitchen and I very much enjoyed the whole experience especially the food and the attentive service. The décor is quant and airy and just right. The meats are tender and seasoned perfectly, same goes for the mezes which were both in appearance and taste a delight. I highly recommend Kilis Kitchen and will definitely be visiting again very soon.

We were looking for a spot for dinner and ended up talking to the manager/owner on the sidewalk. He was quite humorous so we went in. A great decision. They have a wide variety of kebab type meals and a comprehensive wine list. We had amazing food with large potions. The service was really good and the place filled up and got quite festive. Its not a large space and it has a few tables on the sidewalk

Brilliant meze in the "healthy dinner" - vast amounts of food but well seasoned, tasty, brilliant texture flavour. Service was quick and efficient and a bustling crowd, delicious smells and friendly vibe made for a lovely Tuesday evening supper.

Nice and delicious buffet breakfast however adding a service charge on the buffet breakfast is a bit odd when i got up and served myself. To me it shouldn't apply to buffet breakfast hours.

A decent place to eat in a nice vibrant location. The food is good if a little simple in certain dishes. The staff are friendly and attentive. I eat here often and can recommend you give it a try to see if it works for you.

Amazing place. We really enjoyed our dinner at this restaurant. I think it is the best Turkish restaurant in London. Really friendly people, delicious food, fast service, affordable prices. I definitely recommend this place.
