The best restaurants in Mildmay Islington London

Very good tapas place, definitely recommended, cozy environment and some of the best croquetas i ever had. Just was not a huge fan of the salsichon, it was alright but I would say you can get something better on the menu for that price.

All 4 of us were delighted with the experience. It was the first time we tried Eritrean food and we were greatly surprised. We ordered the meat and vegetarian combos and everything was lovely. Some dishes were too hot for me (as I am not very used to hot food), but everyone else loved them. The restaurant is cozy and very nicely decorated. Service was 10 🌟! The lady helped us with the menu and was very attentive (if you actually read this review: thanks so much!!) We will be returning soon!

Cool pub. Great staff, gets busy and packed

Great place serving fantastic food. Impressed by the variety. Well presented. Obviously good choice of nice wines. We will go back when we are in London again. Highly recommended.

Outstanding food and service 10/10

This fabulous pub with its great staff was the venue for a joint birthday celebration. We were quite a crowd altogether and were made incredibly welcome by attentive staff. Some people ate and the food was excellent. There was a good choice of wines and great beers. I will definitely visit again.

Such a warm and welcoming place - we made an impromptu visit and we were blown away by everything it had to offer. The food was delicious, staff were lovely and it was all such good value for money. We will definitely be back!

Vivíamos en Newington Green y nos quedamos muy contentos de ver que había un restaurante como 56 que ofrece una variedad de comidas diferentes y que parecía agradable y acogedor por dentro. Probamos un par de veces y eran realmente decepcionado con la calidad de la comida o realmente impresionados. No parece muy coherente. Lo que era la camarera muy coherente que nos sirve muy educado en todo momento.

We’ve ordered from here before and always found the food to be lovely. However on this occasion our usual dishes were hotter than usual and the chicken tasted old. Quite disappointed.

I ordered from here for the first time on the recommend of a friend however the sag aloo was burnt-tasting and horrendously dry, the tarka daal was bland and watery, and the peshwari naan was tepid at best and also very dry. Even the pilau rice was watery and tasteless. Very poor.

Fabulous place, down to earth with lovely and helpful staff and owner. And so tasty- quite possibly the best BBQ oyster I’ve ever had! Highly recommended.

Very nice place to get a brunch. Food was really good, coffee was also great, and waiters welcoming. I can only recommend if you like good food !

To be honest with everyone. I was looking forward to this restaurant, but I was really disappointed. We made an order, we got a bowl of salad and some really thin bread and waited for over half an hour and what's worse is that they have served another table who arrived after us. Then I decided to go up to the till to pay for the salad and leave as the main meal did not come. We were then told that it's on its way with no apology for the waiting customer service was disgusting and the food and the portion of it was not worth the price at all. I will never go back again.

The standard was rather poor from early days. The service was good but the food was cooked quickly and rushed to the table. Overall I would say needs big revamp of the menu.
