This takeaway has been closed for good & up for sale, which is a shame they have retired, we used them for 30 years, always been a family business

A gem tucked away behind Sports Direct at the back of the Mall. Quiet and peaceful. Perfect for socially anxious or those who want a calm environment. Great coffee and a wide selection of sandwiches and cakes. Staff were very helpful. Poetry on the walls is interesting to read.

This is a really good cafe on Carlton Parade (near to Priory Gardens). Inside, the cafe is spotlessly clean and roomy. The menu has a great selection of breakfasts and lunches. The staff are friendly and service is super efficient. And of course, the food is really good at a very good price too.

Always made welcome, excellent food at very fair prices. Good customer service. An extensive range of set breakfasts plus tea or coffee. All inclusive breakfast is the best deal.

Food is quite expensive for what it is and is very average - we had the grounded breakfast which is one of the most expensive items on the menu and the food was luke warm at best. The service was very slow for a Sunday, only one of our food items arrived first and we had to wait another 20 mins for the other and there was only one other person in there when we ordered. It's ok for a coffee but not great, drinks take so long to make and arrive cold by the time we get them. I've been visiting grounded regularly but today was the last - won't be returning

I came here with my girlfriend and had the best pizza we’ve had in ages. It can be tricky to find amazing authentic Italian Pizza - but we sure found it here! Thin and crispy pizza like you find in Northern Italy. Gianni is a real pro and made us feel so welcome. My Italian girlfriend had a Romana pizza and was over the moon about it. I’m vegan and Gianni offered to use vegan cheese if I grabbed some from the shop next door. In the end I had a vegetariana loaded up with Veg and it was incredible. Easy 5 star, it’s small so worth booking in advance! Thanks Gianni!

Always lovely food, served quickly,so far I’ve introduced 3 group to the restaurant , gutted it’s closed down! Are there any other restaurants in the local area?

I cannot praise Sal's Cafe enough. I was with my brother and partner has Dementia. A special shout out to our Waitress, Pink who was fabulous, understanding and nothing was too big a deal for her. The food was excellent. The prices are very reasonable and definitely competitive. We will definitely be visiting again in the very near future.

I highely recommend this place, the service was brilliant and the food was amazing, great atmosphere. I will defo be coming back here 👌🏽

No he cenado aquí, pero el desayuno tiene una excelente relación calidad-precio, incluso mejor si tienes niños contigo. Dos niños comen gratis por adulto desayuno completo. Definitivamente iría allí si tienes hambre, ya que es todo lo que puedes comer buffet.

We went for coffee and a snack mid week. The coffee was good and hot although the large wasn't that large but no more expensive than similar places. The staff are young and friendly but the coffee did take some time to come i.e after the food which was delivered quickly. We ordered Avocado on toast which was tasty and generously spread and not unreasonable at about £8 for 2 slices as avocados are expensive. There is piped music which added to the acoustics of fellow patrons produces a noise level of about 90 db which is not good for a quiet conversation or reading. So if you like busy bustling cafes and don't mind paying full price for food go to Walnuts. They have a loyalty card but only give you one stamp per visit not per drink which seems a bit mean. There are quieter and better value cafes in Petts Wood. It depends what you want.

It's the first time i have eaten at this little Caribbean restaurant on Anerley Hill. I went there because I had passed the restaurant before and smelt wonderful aromas coming from the kitchen! So I made a point of visiting. And the food flavours did not disappoint! Freshly made authentic Caribbean food. Curried Goat, Oxtail, Rice n Peas, Festival Dumplings. This is a lovely little place that is worth supporting in the local area! They also do Deliveroo and Just Eat under the name Garvey's Caribbean! The only disappointment with this restaurant is the fact that they could do a little bit more to update the decor in the restaurant, which is a little shabby... If it weren't for the outdated decor, i would have given this place 5 Stars! But it did not stop me or my friend from enjoying our meal thoroughly! Plus the place was very clean, which is more important than pretty!!! Our waitress Marley was also great! Good service, friendly and not overbearing. Plus she was ready to give good advice about different dishes. We will definitely return to this lovely little place! Thanks Rivers!!!
