The best restaurants in St Albans East of England

First time here and certainly not the last, food was delicious, big portions,.all our food was hot and all came together, no wait as sometimes with a group of 8. The pub has a lovely friendly feel with attentive smiling staff, which can be quite rare nowadays. Large menu to choose from also Large selection of beers and wine at good prices Great hosts too! will be back.

The food is incredibly tasty, drinks were strong (always a positive), and the staff were very friendly. Honestly this place is such a hidden gem, very unassuming on the outside but had such a lovely meal and great time. I had a good laugh with the staff and highly recommend their pasta dishes and pistachio desserts!

Food was absolutely fantastic. One of our party was gluten intolerant and was catered for superbly. A small intimate setting with very attentive service - slnidt like dining as a treasured gruff in the owners house. Starters, mains and deserts were to due fir together with great wine. We will definitely return - can’t believe we’ve just discovered this gem.

They initially got my order slightly wrong but it was rectified incredibly quickly. Our server Kelly was great! She is always friendly, personable and highly efficient. A very pleasant visit.

Fish wasnt bad, chips were dry and chewy, like reheated. Curry sauce tasted vile. Expensive for the quality. Wont order again.

Not good. It rests on its prime location and the staff put in next to no attempt to be pleasant or really anything that might make a visit worth it. They'll depend on passing trade who know no better. But the whole vibe is all about making no effort and on top of that the menu sucks. The portions are tiny. Really disappointed.

Depressing, so best for a quick take out! Seems to be attracting rough 'n ready groups of young men - recently other Costa in town is preferable. The staff appear 100% bored too...

The main of black bean and beef is over £9 yet it was delivered in the shallow smaller plastic container, not a deep container, that a main portion should be, really small and not a lot of beef, but tasted ok. Satay chicken was dry, stringy and clearly reheated. Chinese chips, the same, not fresh and reheated. Really poor and having ordered from here for years they've lost me as a customer.

Well allocated, lovely place for smart working or meets with friends. Lovely food and coffee. Very professional barista staff. Amazing customer service.

Really nice pub, open fire and super dog friendly. All the patrons are very happy and friendly as well and I enjoyed having a nice chat with a few (and theor dogs). Personally, I prefer a pub without kids so this ine is right up my street!

Great little pub. Great staff, great landlord, and brilliant atmosphere. Proud it's my local now.
