Lovely bright clean airy store all the staff was very attentive and friendly we requested music to b turned down or off as was carrying out a conference call the manager did so and asked to inform once meeting finished to turn back on lovely flat white

I love this store visit often as staff so welcoming and the store is high with cleaning standards. Great cake and sandwich selection. Love now doing marks and Spencer range.

Had a catch up with family which was made a special gathering the manager and her staff was so friendly and welcoming they helped me carry my order to my table as i arrived before my family and pre ordered and I had a very excited child .

Never understand why Harpenden council allowed 2 Costas within a few hundred feet of each other in such a tiny town. That said, this is definitely the best of the 2. The staff are much better, seem a little happier/friendlier and make a better coffee. Only 2 small criticisms 1) The nice big windows were completely misted up. Not sure if they need a/c or a dehumidifier or something. 2) There was some low volume 'thudding' sound in the background. The sound was easy to ignore but I could feel the vibration through my seat - not very restful. That aside, was a good place for a drink.

Show the ones round the corner what to do! It's a chain coffee shop at the end of the day, but the staff always seem to be on top of things and its not sauna like the one on the high street

Took the grandmother to get her hair cut in Harpenden, popped into Costa had a panini and a caramel latte. It’s still the same as the last tile I visited. Great service, great staff and great coffee. Much better than the crap you get at Starbucks!

I visited here when I was in the final weeks of completing my university course as I’d had extremely bad treatment from the staff in Starbucks, Chiswell Green. It’s a nice little coffee shop with very friendly staff and the internet connection is fantastic. I had no issues with it and the shop was full of people on phones and laptops. I always use Costa Coffee as it’s actually far better than Starbucks.

What has happened to this Costa? It used to be the better of the 2 in Harpenden. Came in today for coffee and lunch. Staff surly and rude. Slopped coffee all over my tray and didn't even bother wiping it up. Just turned her back and walked away. Dirty trays and cups on most of the empty tables - I had to clear my own. Toasted sandwich had food from somebody else's stuck to it. Horrible. Avoid!

Always room to sit. Nice and warm. Good friendly service. Good place for mother’s and babies. Great great skinny flat white.

Flat white and super hot choc with my daughter, but the barista looked like a bulldog who’s swallowed a wasp. Terrible attitude from the girl with the shaved head and pony tail. Needs to cheer up!

I came in this afternoon in a rush catch my train and I ordered a takeaway latte. The girl who I ordered it from was in training (I believe her name was Kat) however she took my order and my drink was made without any delay. It was the perfect temperature and when she handed it to me she said "Have a lovely day" and this little touch put a smile on my face for the day.

I visited this store and wow what a turn around speed for my order was fast cleanliness was good toilets clean and staff so efficient

Popped in for a snack and coffee. Staff very efficient and friendly it was busy but food was brought to my table with no delays and with a smile.

We have coffee here on average one a week. Service excellent. Usual snacks that are available in all Costas. Airy restaurant with comfortable seating, and if you time it well not noisy.

Good coffee at decnt price, lots of seating and not too busy when we went on a Sunday. All staff were pleasant as you'd expect from this large chain.

Wonderful staff. Very helpful. Treated me so well. Even brought my meal over to the table. After till person told me to go and rest my legs. I was tired. So this was just what I needed to hear. Coffee so good. Meal was exactly what I needed to recharge my battery. Thank you, Costa.You made my day. Oh the coffee.

I'm only posting because I was so annoyed by my purchases today, it was literally money down the drain. Very friendly and efficient staff in this Costa. However my flat white was awful. Maybe it is the Costa version of a flat white. It was basically a regular sized latte that I was served, very weak. I had to throw it away. Normally a flat white comes in a smaller cup and tastes obviously different, like a flat white should. I had to pour it away as I hate weak milky latte. Also the pastry I had was from yesterday... it was stale, dry and fluffy... not nice. £4 odd wasted. Very disappointing and I won't be taking a chance there again.

The Costa Coffee, on Station Road, is a nice large café: not too crowded with furniture, plenty of natural light for the large north facing windows and quite a number of soft seats. Overall the café has a nice layout / design.Care and attentional seemed to be paid to the making of my cappuccino, but at the end of the drink I got a mouthful of coffee grinds – asides was this the drink was OK. The toasted sandwich was also OK.Plenty of newspapers available and the community notice boards gives the place a friendly feel. However, the tables were not being cleared quickly – so I had to move dirty items in order to have a table to sit at.Whilst the better of the two Costa’s in town, I will not rush back.

The staff here were very pleasant and helpful and very willing to please. A great place to meet up with friends for a chat.

Perfect place for a catch up! Spacious, clean, nice ambience, and friendly staff as always. Nice and convenient by train station too.

Been here for coffee several times and different staff make it differently, it shouldn't be like that! There's a very tall friendly young man who is being trained I think, and needs further training because we find he makes it different each time. A shorter guy with light colour hair is such a passionate coffee maker and he makes it just perfect. Never puts his whole hand over the drinking hole either, which ALL others do. Also sweet bubbly girl with dark hair, always chatty and good service. Need more of these staff. Even the manager doesn't always smile! Place very comfy and clean, fantastic for a break or a catch up place, even to do a bit of work on lap top or meeting etc..
