The best restaurants in Wheathampstead St Albans East of England

Was a lovely afternoon treat boating Charlie’s. Lovely atmosphere, the food was yummy and tea was very nice (and strong! Love strong tea!) obviously less strong is available! They have a really good selection of vegan/non-diary alternatives which is super!! Space to sit indoors or outside as well as takeaway, which seemed to be very busy too. Definitely a good sign. Will definitely be back. The team there were lovely and friendly too - thank you xx

Think people in Wheathampstead are being a bit too loyal to their village, giving this 5 stars.. The chips are dead, there’s no chippie taste or texture to them/ just uniform fried potato with no crispiness. The staff barely speak. It’s all a bit weird, Royston Vasey comes to mind.

Proper farm café and good to back farmers in any way possible. Lovely atmosphere and staff, especially good coffee on a rainy day

Popped in for a drinky poo , gin and tonic lovely, small old fashioned drinking venue, very welcoming, standing room mainly but some cosy seating otherwise

Love the beers .... brewery moved to Redbourn ...try 'Great Level End' (sic)...nothing here now.

I’ve had such an amazing night with my colleagues. Warm welcoming, lovely service by the team and surely delicious food. From the pasta options I ordered the Papardelle Al Monzo and spinach on the side never ever tasted anything like this. Absolutely 10 out of 10 hospitality by the manager of Lolivo Murat. Such a lovely cafe to visit in an ideal setting. Great choices and the smoothies are amazing!

Never disappointed with the food here. Always fresh and cooked perfectly, love the fresh side salads and onions that come with the Tikka / Sheek kebab starters. Great range of mains and veg side dishes, particularly like the saag aloo and Brinjal Bhaji. Was worried when they moved premises a few years ago, but the food is still excellent. Always collect but did get delivery a few years back during covid times, the food always arrived piping hot.

Absolutely amazing food with the best service. We didn’t feel rushed at all. The food was was delicious. The best itialian food in Hertfordshire. That’s from two Italian visiting food lovers. We will return.

A lovely roast beef lunch with tasty veg, potatoes, cauliflower cheese and a Yorkshire Pudding. Lovely service from Sally and team. One of the best roast meals I have had. Would recommend the Swan. Was my birthday and they did make a bit of a fuss, which of course I loved. Thanks

We came here today on our bikes with our 2 year old daughter. The two bar ladies couldn’t have been more friendly or accommodating to us. The beer was great and so was the food. We’ll be back!

Lovely Chinese takeaway- always happy with the food, very friendly too

Enjoyed a superb take away from Cherry Trees yesterday. I have always enjoyed the food here but this was first class. If you want fresh tasting food, carefully prepared and presented, off an interesting menu, then look no further than the friendly people at Cherry Trees. They are on the top of their game at the moment.

Had the half of chicken and chorizo and what came was a chicken thigh and a chicken wing no breast and wasn't half a chicken just cheapest bits of chicken paid over £20 it was shocking
