Friendly, helpful staff in a cosy location where you get to support a local micro brewery with rotating guest beers and a range of events to enhance your evening. Pleasantly surprised to find they had sports on the TV without feeling like it was the focus of everyone in the venue.

Conveinent for the bus bus stops, sits a quirky micro pub. Public house is a great description as it is just like someone's house, open to the public. You'd be forgiven for thinking it the abode of a little old lady who can still use the stairs. With it's leather high-backed armchairs, olds books and nick-nacks it really does have a homely feel. Sit downstairs or up. Upstairs is like a studio flat complete with butler sink and old-fashioned charm! We would have sat upstairs had we not needed to look out for he bus. But I am sure we will go back in the spring now Mummy has a bus pass for Hertfordshire. Please don't go in a boisterous group. This is too peaceful for that! This place would he be even better if they had mummy's book for you to read ---- Travels with my Teddy Bear (Travelogues and musings of a woman with Asperger's Syndrome and her teddy bear)!

Tiny little bar, but a real gem. The Farr Brew beer is excellent..... the brewery is very close by so doesn't have to travel farr (sorry... couldn't help myself there). Absolutely the friendliest bar I've ever been to. It's SO small it's almost impossible not to interact with everyone else, although there is a larger space upstairs if you need to expand. Brilliant.

Nearly everything was good, the food was excellent , especially the poached eggs. The pricing was reasonable for the quality of food. The service was friendly and swift, the waitresses were lovely. However, I have not given 5 stars overall, because of one member of staff who came across as rude and abrupt. This same individual, also muttered rather loudly to his staff, as we were leaving ; ' have they paid?' luckily for him, my partner only told me when we were halfway down the street. I am not clear what gave this man the impression , we were the type of people who would not pay for our food. I am new to st Albans and up until now everyone has been lovely and welcoming. I am hoping this was an off day on the part of this person. I think he was the manager. We would definitely, eat here again, but this man needs to sort his attitude out, as it has put me off, sadly.

We ordered a takeaway from the here last night, Fri 12th Oct 2018 - it was the best ever!! The phone was answered promptly and very politely.I love lamb but VERY rarely have it as a curry...our friends 'highly' recommended this restaurant and I understand why now!!!I had lamb sag and my partner lamb madras - both absolutely gorgeous and tender. The whole order was excellent!!!My partner picked the ordered up, no wait involved, price as per the menu and we could pay by contactless.Nice touches - the carry bag said Thank You' on...perhaps these days once this stock has ran out the restaurant should think of going to paper bags??And the bar of chocolate inside was a lovely surprise - that was tasty too!!EXCELLENT in every way!!!
