Limited but lovely place, perfect to get a coffee, cake or sausage rolls after a good walk in the area. I had the spinach and feta roll. I also love their home made ice cream, the mint choc chip is my favourite.

In a word, fantastic! Unique and amazing location, great coffee, awesome cakes and savoury food. My wife and I love visiting West End Barns and regularly travel from Oxfordshire to enjoy a relaxing drink and a slice (or two) of cake. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. 10 out of 10!

We’ve been visiting this amazing, rural cafe since it first opened. It’s a perfect stop off during a weekend bike ride, and has bike racks to park the bikes. The coffee, homemade cakes and local produce are excellent, along with fantastic, friendly, welcoming owners and staff. The cafe is in the farm’s courtyard, making use of their rustic barns and stables. Such a unique environment to enjoy a well earned break.

Came here looking for a coffee shop. Was quite surprised with the number of people here considering a modest selection of food and drink. Atmosphere was good. I wouldn't go out my way to come here, but sure if you're in the area.

I spotted a facebook post to let customers know that this little gem would be open on a Friday during July (I think their usual opening is limited to a Saturday during the summer months). My husband and I therefore popped in for coffee and cake on Friday lunchtime for a change of scenery. We were greeted by a huge smile and warm welcome (young lady with long brown hair) - a real asset to you! We ordered a latte, black coffee, a brownie and a cream tea. It was delicious. We sat at one of the wooden picnic benches along with a few other customers, who were also enjoying the atmosphere. There's a small carpark opposite the barns for easy parking, and I noticed an area for young children with some activities for them to complete. They have cycle parking on site too. There's also, what looks like a small farm shop connected to the cafe, which I'll take time to look around, next time we visit. We will definitely be dropping by again. Thank you for a thoroughly enjoyable visit.

Only been here for ice cream. They sell Lewis of London Ice cream and it's very nice. Staff are very friendly and support helpful. Dogs are well taken care of (even do doggy over cream). It's a rustic place but I like that as it's not trying to upsell or charge for extras Go visit

t was with great pleasure we were able to visit the West End Barns for refreshments. Ever since the Heartwood Tea Rooms closed at the start of covid there, Heartswood Forest / Nomansland Common has needed a refreshment stop. When we visited there were loads of children (and many adults) having hot chocolate – the bailey’s hot chocolate was very good and so was the cakes and the mulled wine. The café is more geared up to people arriving mainly on foot (12-minute walk from Nomansland Common car park and also easily walkable from the main Heartswood Forest car park), on horse or by bicycle (there are plenty of cycle racks) – there is also a small car park across the road from the barns. It is situated near the junction of Ferrers Lane and Bull Lane. Whilst only open at weekends (from 10 to 4) the café has already won the owner (Victoria Smith) the Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2021. Whilst mainly aimed at take-a-ways there are a few benches and tables outside, but undercover. As well as an excellent section of cakes, the cafe also sells other local produce. Have already visited more than once and will definitely visit again soon.

Lovely staff, speciality coffee, and an array of treats (of which some are gluten free, vegan, or vegetarian) make this a welcome café in St Albans! There isn't much indoor seating, but a patio makes for a great place for a catchup with friends, family, or loved ones (including yourself). My recommendation? If it's a hot day, try their cold brew and flapjacks. They're fantastic, and you'll thank me later.

i had a great time when we hired a room for only £50, for my mums 60th. the staff were lovely and welcoming and couldn’t have been more attentive. the hot drinks were so refreshing and the wide variety of cakes made it hard to decide between something so yummy to something even yummier! thank you for the great experience and we will be back soon !

They have the BEST paninis in St Albans! They also do a delicious vegan panini option. My sons say they have amazing milkshakes and my husband adores their sausage and bacon baps. Set in a fabulous park for the kids (also very dog-friendly) - suitable for all the family. Go visit!
