Would like to send a special thanks to the landlady at the Overdraft. On the 28/10/23 returning back to Birmingham we unfortunately broke down. The help and assistance offered by the landlady and her husband was truly amazing. I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of myself and my wife to say thank you thank you thank you, we are truly grateful. We also would like to thank the community of Park Street especially the owner of Carwash,Martin and his wife and the workers at the BP garage who also went above and beyond in there efforts to help us in our hour of need thank you.

We visited The Overdraught when staying nearby at Brickett Wood and not fancying the chain pub for food. They offered several home cooked meals, the two we had were excellent. The landlady was fantastic she never stopped and we were well looked after from the minute we walked in. The locals were all friendly and the pub has a great atmosphere, like all good community pubs should. Would recommend for food and a few beers. They had a cask ale on the hand pull and a selection of lagers and spirits as well.

Park Street has a very real "village" feel and as such, the Overdraught can be described as a locals pub. Having said that there's always a very friendly atmosphere. A good sized sunny garden, two bars, with TVs for sports. The larger bar has an adjacent raised platform giving a slightly secluded area. A varied menu to suit all tastes. The previous landlord had a reputation for good food, which continues with the present landlady. A proper pub.

My parents live locally and mentioned that the food here was good. My husband & I were visiting for the day so suggested we gave their Sunday lunch a go. Was disappointed on arrival, as I was hit with the smell of oil (which makes your eyes sting) along with the scent of bleach throughout (in Covid times this isn’t unusual)(. Football showing on the TV, kids a plenty, sauces in sachets and laminated menus complete the picture. Staff were friendly but there was little atmosphere despite the disco balls hanging from the ceiling. Service good, portions big and a good price, but alas not my kind or place. It wasn’t the kind of pub you’d travel to, nor wish to spend a long afternoon. Most people just ate and ran. Shame as a lot could be done with the space.

Very good meal. Really enjoyable and food served hot. Super staff….. Shame about two female customers , aged around 70. Very loud - unbelievably - and one took a video call from her daughter and grandson, who were on holiday. She then had a VERY loud conversation in which the whole restaurant could hear. Do these people not realise we really don’t care about their lives or are interested in them . We don’t force them to listen to our conversations. Very rude and no self awareness.

As my Mum, Stepdad and little brother are visiting from up north this weekend we decided to pop to the Red Cow yesterday after they arrived at my house.I honestly wish we hadn’t bothered. We had three children in total with us. One of which is autistic and the other deaf so both can at times be loud but they weren’t overly noisy at all yesterday. Some customers were glaring at us anytime the children spoke and another customer kept tutting anytime a dog barked or our children made a noise. Customers were sprawled out across the bar without moving aside to let my partner order. One staff member with black hair came over to our table snatched the cutlery off and remarked “this table is reserved hence why the cutlery is out”. There was no reserved sign and a lot of pubs/restaurants have cutlery laid out on tables anyway. We just sat there because the children gravitated to it and didn’t think that deeply into it. My son was getting fed up and we weren’t happy with the atmosphere so we packed up to leave. My son who is 2 was crying in his buggy on the way out of the door. The same staff member who snatched the cutlery off our table was standing by the door, my Mum said thank you to her and the staff member rolled her eyes at my son who was crying. I passed her at the door after my mum and I too said thank you, only to be ignored by her. I’m sorry but is this a pub or a library? We’re local and although we don’t visit the pub that often, when we have been there in the past the team have been amazing. Particularly the manager Zoe, who I believe is currently on leave-AND IT SHOWS!! Zoe is amazing with kids and has always been really helpful and kind to our children, also to my little brother when he is down to visit. What a genius way to make people feel so uncomfortable and awkward that they want to leave and not spend more money. It’s an actual joke. Get some manners!
