Just moved into area, found the pub to watch footie, which was achieved. Small premises, cosy atmosphere, surprised by the entertainment of a guitarist/singer of good quality and enjoyed the performance moreover than the game . Recommended and will reattend with my other half.

I went for breakfast with a friend, arrived at 11am, went to the counter to order and got told that breakfast wasn't be served any longer, even though it states "served till 11.30" So I asked if I could order a sandwich as was told that they couldn't take any food orders as they didn't have the capacity as they still had lots of breakfasts to deliver!!! Also, when and if I could order there would be an hours wait. So my friend and I got up and left. I won't be going back there and I won't be recommending the nursery to others. I would recommend the Hockley Tea Garden instead, we were greeted by a friendly, smiling waitress, all day breakfast on their menu. The drinks and food were delivered in a timely manner

We have always used Lubbards for our Indian food and it used to be outstanding. However, tonight’s food was very poor in comparison, there was just one bag of salad, no raita, and the mixed starters were dry and quite tasteless. To top it all, I asked as I always do for the vegetable curry that accompanies the biriani to be Madras hot, when it was delivered, I had been charged for an extra full size vegetable curry although I had gone through the order twice with the person on the phone! Will not be bothering again.

I was looking to join the Rayleigh club as a member after relocating from Wales and had hoped to play on the South course. I explained that I was previously a member at the Vale Resort and had a certified handicap (WHS). When booking a tee off time, I was advised this was okay when I contacted over the phone. The South Course was closed today and I asked whether I could book the East course instead. When I went in to do so, the gentleman in the pro shop advised that I wouldn't have been able to play the South Course as 'they don't recognise the WHS handicap system.' He further said that 'there's no way he can know whether it is valid or whether I am pretending to be someone else.' Instead of insinuating that I am fraudulently trying to play on the South course, he could have contacted the Vale Resort directly who could have verified my previous membership and handicap, irrespective whether they recognise the WHS system. I had hoped to play the South Course and potentially become a member. My late Grandfather had his wake at the Rayleigh club in 2015 and it was a special day of commemoration and I was very grateful to the staff that day for being so attentive and welcoming. This is in stark contrast to my experience in the pro shop today. In my experience, questioning the validity of someone's registered handicap is not the best way to encourage new members so I'll look to join elsewhere.

We Called after waiting 45 mins for food and told it would be cooked and delivered in 15 mins, they had forgotten our order, it was delivered but sadly realised it was luke warm/cold when it was delivered! Such a shame that a restaurant that used to serve and deliver gorgeous food has gone downhill so much, this was our regular however after a bad experience at the restaurant early last year we gave them another chance and still had a rubbish experience! They did give a refund, however not without an argument. Debbie the delivery driver is amazing and absolutely no argument with her, our issue is bad service from start to finish, cold food and lack of customer service, our experience from start to finish was awful, even ordering the food was hard work! When we called to ask how long it would be they didn't even know our address! Sadly had to use another local delivery service tonight đŸ˜Ș

I'll start with this: the last lot to own and operate this shop were a very tough act to follow. Almost unfair to whomever followed. The previous owners operated in that unique space between 'kebab shop' and 'Turkish restaurant' and all their stuff was amazing – real 'secret sauce stuff' when it came to their meat. Having tried this new shop's offerings a few times, I'd say what we got is aligned back towards what you'd expect from an out-and-out kebab shop. We ordered what we used to order from the previous owners, and it just wasn't the same. I don't want to denigrate a brand-new business just starting out, so please take this review with a pinch of salt as things will probably change as the business matures. But for us, the unique selling point and the reason why we used to buy from this shop on a weekly basis has gone. So for us, it's time to mourn the passing of what was and move on to try and find something to replace it. To end on a positive though, if you enjoy honest to goodness kebab shop food, you'll probably be just fine here. Good luck to the new owners and I hope you make a big success of it all.

Service was still ok but the bright friendly faces we got used to were not there, very disappointed in menu changes with the new ownership, selection was boring and quality mediocre , I was looking forward to lamb kofta but menu online was different to what was available I chose fillet steak but that’s gone, I decided on burger but it looked thin and not homemade so had bavette steak instead which was very tough, sea bass was ok but sauce very plain, meatballs were hard, starters and sides and chicken burgers and fish and chips all good but the tables are scruffy and chairs are practically falling apart , plastic flowers, my birthday brownie stale and was more dropped in front of me rather than served and not even a candle and yet it’s prices remain on the high side , it’s my mother’s local and we love the location , we’re hoping the new owners will improve things by our next family gathering
