The Smugglers is a great old traditional Pub in Hullbridge. Truly a hidden gem near the River. Beer prices are reasonable & Max the Bar Manager is epic works like 3 people behind the bar 🍻. Great venue with live music played most weekends.

Bartender was extremely rude, open till one bit kicked us out at 11:30. Only one bartender there, had recommendations from a friend but would never come here again with the service

Perfect pub for adults. Great outdoor seating, good range of drinks, something for everyone. Almost don't want to rate and post because it needs to keep its quiet, hidden status. Bands have been great and karaoke was fun as well. Great prices and perfect place to unwind.

Lovely out of the way place to sit and have a drink or eat while overlooking the river. Parking is via a paid car park about 50 yards before the smugglers.

Pleasant friendly staff and atmosphere in a pub situated on the banks of a river. Would recommend and visit again for a relaxing afternoon. We did not order food.

Friendly service, very reasonable pricing and great live music. There's an outdoor platform by the river which offers lovely views in the summer evenings.

Unpretentious pub with regular bands and musicians. Don't have their own food but have arrangement with local takeaway who deliver to the pub. But the best part is the outside deck which looks straight down the river with fantastic sunsets

A very old 'hang out' of many years ago,'Hullbridge motorcycle club' some 40 odd years ago,long defunct,it was a reunion.

This is a nice pub near the shores of the river Crouch. It's quite small but drink prices are reasonable and they do need more bar staff as there was quite a wait at the bar. They have a lady's mouth as the urinal in the gents which gives rise to am interesting conversation. There was a live band when I was there and they were quite good, but for me it was too loud.

The Smugglers Den, full to bursting with live gig events. Located beautifully with seating on the waters edge, adjacent to local nature and woodland. The Smuggler Den management, staff and locals are friendly bunch, welcoming and a pleasure to know. Overall a very enthusiastic place, and an atmospheric pub on event nights. Family and live music venue all good people are welcome including happy dogs! Cheers🥂🍻

It's a great local pub always have free live music on a Saturday evening its got a good vibe to it so don't expect a quiet drink out but if you want to see some good local bands then this is the place for you

Just popped in for a coffee on probably the windiest and coldest day of the year. Very friendly staff and although we had to sit outside we snuck a peek of the inside which looked very cosy. Will definitely visit again. Xx

Lovely place for all the family plenty of seating for drinking out side and great food take away service best thing is it great for younger children as they can feed the swan's and ducks and do some crabin but allso just a short walk along the river path to a lovely park a good area for pick nicks but a really lovely place to be in

Great little pub, quiet normally early in the week in my experience (Mondays & Tuesdays) and ideal for a quiet drink. Great little music venue and much busier later in the week. Outside seating area with great river views.

Not been to the Smugglers for many years and I don't recall it being anything special. How different now, a great selection of drinks, excellent bar staff, especially Matt, and the outside seating area by the river is a fantastic relatively new addition. Definately on my regulars list now.

The best place to have a drink or weekend night out in essex, jam night on Wednesday night 3 weeks out of the month, absolutely wonderful place!! Staff are a delight!!

Describes itself as cosy and casual. When you get here its smaller and cosier than you might anticipate. They've also had a change in menu in that they no longer serve food. It's alright for a quick beer, or if you are a local. If you were looking for something with more, then look elsewhere!
