I got rained off work and the power company were replacing the pole outside ours, so no electricity for the day. We decided to treat ourselves to lunch at the tea room: I ordered the Irish Breakfast tea, while my wife had hot chocolate and the children had juice and milk. For the lunch we ordered sweet potato fries, cheese scones, and a ham and cheese panini with chili jam and side salad; afterwards the children had a slice of Victoria sponge cake and a slice of carrot cake. The food was absolutely delicious and the tea was of the highest quality - this coming from a bit of a tea snob. The two staff members were rushed off their feet, but they were very attentive and there was no delay in taking our orders, in clearing the plates afterwards or settling the bill at the end. They were not just polite and professional but lovely, and made us all feel very welcome! It's a privilege to have such a wonderful tea room in our village and so close to home, and I highly recommend it to anyone who either loves tea or would like somewhere to eat out, or both 👌

Poor management We went for a family meal to celebrate a birthday. Whilst paying for the bill, one of the members knocked their head on the low ceiling leaving them sweating, pale and very distressed. The manager was not to be seen on sight however albeit this, the two young bar staff were attentive and helpful. When the manager arrived, the lady responded saying it the low ceiling meets the health and safety requirements and there was nothing she could do about it despite claiming that the “🦆” sign indicated to mind your head whilst one of the members were sat with ice and a towel wrapped around their head in a lot of pain. Very disappointed with the way the manager dealt with the scenario and the fact that the young girls had to call a member of management to the scene suggested that no member was health or safety trained. Thankfully, he is ok however if the scenario was a lot worse we wouldn’t know what to expect has of he needed extra help.

We have visited this cafe several times over the years and it has been going steadily downhill,so much so that we don't want to visit any more. The only good thing g was the member of staff named Olly ,he collects the food orders, delivers the food, clears and cleans tables and any food spilt on floor, keeps coffee machines filled and condiments and cooler units filled. This is not easy when cafe is full but he is always cheerful and helpful even when dealing with co plaints. Give the man a pat on the back (or maybe a pay rise) More staff needed at busy times or cafe will keep losing custom ,menus need updating and food needs to be hot

Horrible place. Hubby and I had just recently moved to a nearby village, and we wanted to explore further a field. We went late afternoon, and ordered a coffee. The atmosspehere was akin to something out of the slaughtered lamb(american werewolf in london film). Lots of sweary men propping up bar. nipped to the toilet on the way out, to hear us being talked about quiet loudly! about why we were ordering coffee only, amongst other things! First time in The Duncow , NEVER again.
