The best restaurants in West Mersea Colchester East of England

Another let down …. I’ve always had great food from here but the problem I have had in my last 2 attempts at getting food is crazy …. First a few weeks ago I queued up for 20 mins then when I got to the counter and asked for just 1 cheese sandwich was told 40 mins wait !!!! So I didn’t bother …. Now today after spending 6 hours decorating a beach hut I decided at midday to go and order some food… brilliant no queue only to be told that the cook / chef was going out for 15/20 mins !!!!! Turning around to see him put his coat on and leave … at lunch time REALLY .. we have sent literally dozens of customers your way from our beach hut rentals and all of them have said what a great little cafe we have left your menus in our huts for the customers to look at ect .. unfortunately we have again been let down and found myself driving to Tesco to get lunch …. To save us from any negative feedback we are removing the menus from the huts in case something similar happens to our customers…

A bit disappointed with some of the food today (crab bisque was just salty and watery) which was such a shame as we have always really enjoyed the food here (mussels were great). We will be back as it hasn't put us off though.

Don’t live on the Island although family do but been in a few times to eat and always first class. Popped in this afternoon for a coffee and Large Whisky 😀 and got to say was made so welcome by the lovely 2 people behind the bar although the young lad was a Spurs fan bless him 😂. Seriously though great service and made so welcome

Last Sunday had lovely takeaway.. went got one on Tuesday it was disgusting.. threw in the bin .. different chef .. got some money back for horrible items .. woman on phone needs bit respect to customers.. il avoid place in future.. been to other Chinese in kingsland rd over 30 years.. obviously it's best to stay with which U know.. crap place..

Gem of a place. Nicely located on the seafront. Easy access to beach. Good food, reasonable prices. Lovely ice creams and lovely staff too (great customer service, thank you)

I cannot recommend this hotel more highly. The rooms were bright and airy, some with sun catching balconies, or seating areas outside some ground floor rooms. The bathroom was light and clean with wonderful shower. Best of all was the attentiveness of staff, without exception The breakfasts were ample portioned and delicious. We also used the restaurant, which was very good with good choices, and again excellent staff attentiveness.

Don’t bother… You will wait hours to collect your takeaway. It’s sheer greed on their part. They clearly can’t cope with the volume of orders, but continue to take them. So even if ordering in advance you will wait at the premises up to an hour after they said it would be ready. Not just once.. every time. This business will nose dive as soon as there is some competition on Mersea

We love this restaurant especially Paul the head chief who accommodated my dietary requirements and even remembered my dietary needs a year on! I was very impressed. Despite a limited menu, when you talk to the staff they are very supportive to dietary needs. Paul was absolutely lovely and checked if everything was ok during the meal, plus all of our 13 meals came out very quickly.

Please update your website I drove a hour away for your takeaway didn't know it was delivery only

Had a delivery from here and the food really wasn't that great. Ribs full of inedible bits, ended up throwing away far more than you could actually eat. Other dishes were very watery and didn't taste that great. Spring rolls were good and other dishes were ok but shame about the rest.
