lovely meal and good service, had the sticky beef and noodles followed by the brazilian seafood stew which was fantastic. others had steak, all dishes were first class. hopefully everyone will now know you are open as a great addition to Mersea.

Great takeaway sandwiches; looked and tastes very fresh. The white chocolate cake was also delicious. Tempted with a new cheese , yet to try🤞

It was out first visit to the island and we went out for a walk. We popped in on the off chance as we love a curry. They sat us thankfully next to the radiator as it was so cold outside. The service and food was deliciously fantastic. We like things a certain way, saag aloo vindaloo hot for example, they were very accommodating. Locals very friendly, we chatted to a lovely couple. We would definitely recommend and we will visit when we come back to the island again.

Always great food at very reasonable prices. Really nice decor, staff are friendly and service is professional. Sunday lunch is particularly good! Highly recommend!

Stayed on Mersea Island for a few days with friends for birthday celebration and was looking for somewhere to go for afternoon tea. Found The Gilt Rooms on Tripadvisor and decided to give it a go. We had to book for the afternoon tea but wow so worth it. Everything from the freshly made sandwiches to the warm fresh out of the oven scones and home bakes cakes (chocolate eclair, victoria sandwich, lemon drizzle and choc brownie were amazing. All washed down with a perfectly chilled glass of prosecco and lashings of tea or coffee. It was the absolute best afternoon tea I've ever had and have had a few. Will definitely visit again when there.

A huge thank you to "Got Beef" catered for our 50+ Staff Party. Food was delicious we opted for the Philly Burger, Seasoned Fries, Pulled Pork and side of pickles & offered a very tasty Houlumi Burger for our vegetarians 🤤. Very filling, generous portions fast efficient service freshly made to order well done to Lee and the team a credit to Mersea 👌

Best Fish Bar and Kebab House on Mersea Island. Looking clean and fresh following the refurb. Wouldn’t go anywhere else on Mersea.

Relaxing and beautiful holiday park, static caravans are first class and park is well maintained.

Great place highly recommend lovely food disabled access location is great nice views in and around typically British.

1st time visting today, lovely venue, food was lovely and our waitress Linda was brilliant! Will be visiting again :)

Very disappointed with the quality of the fish & the chips & also the tartare sauce. Have been using the shop for about 9 years but the last year or so it's far below par. The were over cooked & the fat tasted like it needed replacing. The fish was a lot smaller than it used to be & again wasn't very tasty. Always used to look forward to it as the shop could accommodate my gluten free & was delicious. For now will not be using your shop until we've been told things have improved.

Beautiful hot chocolates, friendly & welcoming, but service was a little hesitant. (Open during the winter, lots of space inside & out)

We came from out of area as were staying close by on NYE. We had a lovely welcome and a beautiful meal. The disco was great fun and the staff and local people who frequent the pub made us feel very welcome. A lovely evening!

From the outside this cafe looks inviting and friendly. We sat outside as we had our puppy with us. The hot drinks were pleasant, the cakes were over priced but delicious, and apart from the waitress calling our 5 month old puppy an idiot dog because he didn’t sit when she told him to I would say it was an okay place to go. We probably won’t be going back though because I didn’t appreciate the waitresses manner.
