Booked a room to spend a night with my wife to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was amazing, as soon as we arrived we were served welcome drinks, room was incredible. The attention to detail in the service really is like nothing I have experienced before. The spa facilities are tranquil, everywhere was spotless and the Christmas Dec's magical. Thank you for making it such a special night. We will definitely return.

We recently had brunch at the boatyard. Highly recommend the buttermilk chicken, it was delicious! We returned the following weekend to try out the roast, which was equally as yummy! We were lucky enough to sit out side in the lovely sunshine in MARCH! The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend and we will be visiting again very soon!

This is welcome spot to refuel if you’re on the Constable walk. The service was prompt and friendly, the cafe was spotlessly clean and very pleasant to sit in, but sadly the food was pretty poor. A sweet potato and spinach slice was limp (possibly microwaved) and the salad although very fresh came with no trace nor offer of dressing. A little thought on how to improve the food would go a long way. I didn’t have any cake, but they did look really good.

Have been here before and had lovely food and hospitality but today was first to arrive at 12, door unlocked by a scruffy person with dirty clothes who asked us to sign our car registrations in then show us to our table which was under a stairwell at the back poorly lit ( the restaurant was empty) I said can we sit elsewhere please, was shown a table by the fire. Scruffy man said he would be back to take our drinks order after 10 mins he did, I said can we order food as well he said he was doing drinks orders first then would be back, 20 mins later he hadn’t returned so my friend ordered at bar. Food arrived I had ordered fishcakes, these were dry and over cooked, no broccoli just spinach which was over cooked and wet, 3 small baby potatoes which were hard and no hollindaise sauce which was down on the menu, I said I wasn’t to go pay for this to my friend but she said she had paid when she ordered. Pub busy now and couldn’t speak to anyone so left disappointed.

Absolutely fantastic local pub, we have just moved to Dedham and this place is truly an absolute highlight of the village. Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere. Kids and dogs made to feel welcome and still a proper 'pub' vibe for the grown-ups. Unpretentious menu, top quality food and excellent beers. We LOVE the Marlborough.

Dinner menu was too wordy and confusing, we were told to move from restaurant to lounge area at 1100 as they were being closed and then told to go to our rooms at 1130 as the whole downstairs area was being closed. It could have been so much better than this but we felt like an inconvenience to the staff even though we were staying there.

Firstly, the food was terrible. You can tell that it has been bought in frozen and chucked in a fryer that hasn’t been changed for about a week. The Setting was terrible. The place looks as if it hasn’t had any work done to it for about 4 years. It felt dirty and as a person with OCD i couldn’t enjoy my frozen meal as i worried the whole time. The management lacks so much. From just the hour and a bit that i was in the establishment i felt as if it was a free for all. For a village pub like this one they rely heavily on their existing customers. Yes I know it’s January and it’s quiet but there was only 2 people in drinking and 1 other eating. I think if the management want to keep ahold of this establishment then they need to invest more money into it. The way i see it is that the business will be sent under unless a new manager is seeked and the old manager steps back and leaves. It seems to me that the management only employs children. When I came in on a Wednesday there seemed to be one male and a boy. I’ve been here numerous amounts of times and it’s always children that serve me (i’m also fairly certain that someone under 18 poured my Carlsburg). This is all well and good employing children but i fear they are being paid minimum wage and are asked to work a lot of hours whilst still in college and school.

Lovely staff, very polite and helpful, but wrong meal arrived, my husband had finished his by the time the correct meal arrived. The hot meal was served on a cold plate and the food was not thoroughly heated. Not an enjoyable meal or experience. We were offered 1 x complimentary drink to compensate. :(
