The best restaurants in Goffs Oak Broxbourne East of England

Took a while to get through on the phone to place an order for delivery but pleased we persisted. The website is very poor but luckily we had a flyer so knew what they offered. Told the price and how long before it would be delivered. Arrived a little early. The food was obviously freshly cooked, very adequate portions and excellent. Different fish not labelled so differentiating between the cod and haddock was guesswork. Surprised they only accept cash-could lose the business as not everyone has cash in the house. Wish them well and will be back.

Today was our first time there and unfortunately it didn't live up to the expectations I know it's Xmas season and we didn't have a reservation, but if you can't deliver, it's best to say no, we are full. Waited over half hour to get our started and then another good 40mins for a cheeseburger and a linguine, which there were hardly any crab meat ( you needed a microscope to see a couple of strains and about 3 prawns, I wouldn't call them Kind Prawns either. As soon our meal was served I asked for some parmesan cheese and the manager got back - how hard is it to go to the kitchen and get some? Half hour later we pay the bill and left, desert was never offered and payment taken and off we went This pub has so much potential but definitely lacks attention and service could definitely improve. Would I go back - sure! I'd like to give it another go, it does look like a nice pub.

Out of 5: Value for money 1 Service 1 Meal 1 Atmospher 2 Not the best venue attended for a Sunday lunch, The Gofs Oak would be very low on my list of venues to return to. Service charge removed, out of 7 meals 2 were turned twice for being cold.

18Sep2024 Really nice, well-cooked food, served quickly and piping hot. The pub is part of the McMullen's group, so the prices are a tad high, at a satisfactory value.

Best curry house in Goffs Oak and all surrounding areas, 10/10. Hussain is the guy to see.

Although only given an "as soon as possible" time period, the delivery was made within 20 minutes on what was probably abusy night
