Great food and great staff. Very attentive and always there to help. We enjoyed the concept of cooking the steak at the table!

This was our second visit we had not enjoyed our previous visit due to the service but decided to try again as it is a lovely venue we hoped it was just a bad day so we took friends for dinner there yesterday and the service was awful again ! Staff need training and communication from management ! Staff gave us incorrect information when ordering, were not aware the kitchen had run out of certain dishes which caused disappointment when food came! Wait times were very long and it’s difficult getting drink refills ! Desserts came out wrong and cold ! Such a shame as it could be fab if the management could get staff trained better and more of them !

Popped in for dinner. It’s basic but well done. No bells or whistles or music. Just simple food, good service and simple things done well. A refreshing unpretentious place. Perhaps not for everybody. Felt good to us though.

I agree with previous reviews about setting and facilities - all great. We had visited on previous occasions and always enjoyed the experience. However I am guessing that we caught the Bedingfeld Arms at their leist desired serving time, and definitely on an off day. Our timing was for 6.30pm on Sunday 10th of November. Upon arrival, which was fortunately slightly early, we were shown to our table and advised that we had seven minutes to order, and that 60% of the menu was not available. We had not been advised prior to our arival (they had our phone number) of the tight timing or lack of menu items. Food was ordered - 3 burgers and one Pheasant dish as this was all they had. Upon arrival of the food the waitress, who was clearly under pressure from the front of house lady and the Chef, was dealing with who had what relish for which burger etc... when the front of house lady came over and lambasted the waitress saying something about the Chef needing to be informed propery - no idea what that was about, but it was seriously cringeworhty and unprofessional to have been holding that conversation in front of us. We duduced that the Chef was the worry for the staff at front of house, and it seemed that he and the kithcn staff just didn't want to be there. The food was good, and the waitress and bar staff extremely pleasant - they were apologising for the Chef and the restrictions to our meal - which gave us a good idea of where the pressure and unpleasant atmosphere was coming from. I have written directly to the Bedingfeld Arms via there website, but as of two weeks later I have had no reply. Seeing all of the other reviews, which mirror my previous experience, I would just recommend avoiding a Sunday evenings.

Went with a group of ppl to Thursford Christmas spectacular. Then we book up here for a meal on the way home 52 of us from Hadara club. It was so nice and cosy. The service was fantastic and the food so delicious and tasty lovely and hot. Nothing was too much trouble they put crackers on the table and we had mince pies. Family run business they sure did look after us all and made us so welcome. I would highly recommend this place.

We stayed one night in our camper-van in the car park at the Great Danes country Inn at Beachamwell (a small pretty village near Swaffham) as a stop-over on the way to the Norfolk Broads. Roger made us very welcome and although the restaurant was closed they served take-out food. We were expecting cardboard cartons etc. but Roger came out with a tray, china and cutlery promptly at the time we requested. The food was very good - piping hot and generous portions and great value at around £20 for two servings. Definitely recommend.
