Unfortunately this is the only fish and chip shop that delivers in Halstead. Just had cod and chips delivered, came fairly quickly but the food was rubbish. £4.50 for soggy onion rings, the chips were pale and not cooked properly and the cod, well, the cod was in a soggy batter, the batter was all flat and not crispy like it had been put into oil that’s not hot enough, and the fish had a bit of a funny taste, especially the ends of it. Next time I’ll go and collect form one of the other chippys in town. I cannot recommend this place and certainly will not order from here again.

Where do I start. Well, we walked into a very dingy bar, where 4 people were drinking, talking very loudly and spitting out beer onto the floor. The floor was really dirty. We were then taken to our room, where the entrance was filthy with daddy long legs in all corners. The door of our room wasn't very secure. It had a big gap down it, the drawers in the room were broken, and there was mould on the bathroom ceiling and tiles. The windows were also filthy. There was one rail to hang clothes. 2 good points were that the guy who took us to our room was very polite. Also he bedding was very clean. We stayed about 20 minutes and then just left! I wouldn't recommend this place.

Called in to this place today for lunch as it looked nice.Very very disappointed!!! We ordered 1x sandwiche of tuna/mayo and 2x Avocado/cheese /tomatoes. What turned up was awful !! No offer of proper bread but bread rolls which were obviously frozen and not defrosted properly. Salad on the plate was a spoonful of coleslaw which looked like cat 🤢 Coffee was ok just, and all for bargain price of£30.50 This was a memorable experience which we will never be experiencing again.Total rubbish!!

One would expect a takeaway or restaurant to be ready for lunchtime with a large selection of goods on sale ready for a ruch. Sadly for this branch of Greggs this has not been the case on several visits on a Saturday. Arriving at a little after 12 to be met with empty trays, long waiting times ir to be told 'I'll have a look' is not the sort of response you expect to be met with. You could understand a few items to be be awaiting replenishment, but empty cabinets! Totally unexceptable. This review is by no means typical of all branches of Greggs, but is certainly the of the Halstead branch on at least four Saturday visits
