Working away from home and needed some where to eat Googled this place and found it was not far from the travel lodge. Lovely place Good atmosphere Food was excellent. Mixed menu. My husband went for the burger and chips and I tried the curry. Worth having Very reasonable prices. All home made. Very well done. Thankyou. We all need patronise this pub and like wise others. Because if the new government get their way and ban smoking. This will be the end of the pubs

Lovely quiet Saturday walk-in lunch. Sat in the garden. Good food and good value for money. Dog friendly and the staff were excellent.

Wow... I've driven past this place on numerous occasions en route to and from work and never even noticed it. Today, I visited with a pal for Sunday lunch. What an exquisite hidden gem this place is. It's an absolutely amazing place. Massive. Up to date. Spacious. Relaxed. Caters for all. It's not cheap, granted. However, the experience is definitely worth it. The food, roast beef, and trimmings on this occasion. Big portions are excellently crafted and promptly served by knowledgeable, polite, and friendly staff. Vast selection at the bar, which is also complemented by equally knowledgeable polite friendly and attentive staff. Cosy indoor area with log burner and comfortable seating. Larger area at the bar with numerous tables very spacious and relaxed feel. Outside is a carpark for around 50 cars (approximately) with hedges blocking the majority of the car park from view there is a grassed area with lots of outdoor tables of differing sizes with seating. A very pleasant hidden gem. I may well make this "my go-to place" based on today's visit. Thoroughly enjoyable experience. Thank you to one and all at "The Swan @ Stratford St Mary." I am looking forward to my next visit already.

Came for the first time in a while. Same owners as last time which is a good thing as worried it had gone through a few owners. Green hop festival was excellent with lots of local choice of breweries plus a few non green hop. Had liver and onions and scampi and chips. Proper pub food done well. Good desserts too. Very friendly staff and locals. Will come more often

Not good with allergens at all! Specifically asked for no egg in the mixed veg rice - we received egg. Ordered a dish which did not have a nut allergen symbol next to it, therefore deeming it safe to eat, yet it arrived with cashews in it. All in all, won't be ordering from here again.

popped in on Christmas Eve after enjoying the carols in the precinct which was a vibrant affair, had a pint in the village bar, vibrant and full of life and Christmas joy. then made the mistake of visiting the White Horse. The landlord was very drunk and surly to me. the regulars were, as always crowded at the bar near the entrance which always make anyone intimidated when coming in to the public bar, Mark made it clear I was not his friend, he didn't like me and told me it was my fault the pub was closing down on Christmas day as I and other villagers didn't use the pub enough. oh, the pub is open today, but will i go in... probably!

I had spectacular high hopes for this little restaurant on the promenade with the most beautiful setting in North Norfolk. Then I arrived… they call themselves Whitewater … I assume from the dirty waves connecting with sand that gives a slight remembrance to a whitish colour…. I had read a lot of in house things from this ‘restaurant’ through their sister partnership with the Grove…but after a few weeks of research and seeing how they are trying to make arguably a very expensive setting count … I can only come to one conclusion: Most foul coffee… wasn’t even from a proper machine……I chose a pizza… I fancied the OG.. I was extremely intrigued to know what the OG stood for but unfortunately, the waitress didn’t seem to know what I was even on about …. I asked for a soft drink … it came as a warm can of Diet Coke from a plastic glass… as I took my place at the front of what should’ve been the best view was obscured by poor steamed up glass from a kitchen built so close to customers….. after 45 minutes of asking where my pizza was it finally arrived in the absolute only state I would class as charcoal…. Burnt to a crisp… I watched no one make fresh dough… it was obviously frozen…. Absolutely no care or attention prevailed such a worthy product … quite frankly the worse pizza in North Norfolk… if only the view was as gracious as the diabolical food… told the waitress … she argued that ‘most people like the food’ … not even these owners can count on this catastrophic encounter of dreadful over cooked and underwhelming food…. If you can’t provide a proper coffee machine why on earth would you believe you could provide great food…. I’ve most certainly will not be recommending or visiting this venue anytime in the future…. This is one place to quickly scratch off the list… and quick!
