Bloody wow! This was an incredible meal. Service was exemplary even if it was a tad slow, it was well worth the experience. Genuinely happy to say this was the best ever chicken tikka Madras I've ever had. Seriously well worth a visit to this place.

Ordered a takeaway as we were staying 10 mins away. Easy to get to with exit from main road and we were many so made it easier to have cusay for the whole team. Portions were almost generous but filling! Quality of the dishes were decent to good. We had various Indian dishes and overall was all fine . We got a free bottle of beer but it’s overall not cheap, it felt like sit down prices! Overall recommend if driving pass on your way to Ipswich or Colchester.

I love their Indian food and ambience was too awesome. There's a guy with glasses who was so welcoming and friendly. I really love his service.

Excellent staff and food. As this is a large restaurant, it needs more customers to improve the atmosphere. Saying that, we had a gorgeous and peaceful meal!

Great food - we ordered the chicken tikka massala, 2 different types of naan bread and some rice. It was all delicious! There are also many options for very spicy and not too spicy food. Staff is very friendly, extremely polite and helpful. We highly recommend this place!! (And if the exterior if the building concerns you, no worries, the inside is beautiful with a lovely atmosphere)

Fantastic food, it's been a while since iv been and had forgotten just how good it is. Can highly recommend the dansak and bombay aloo.

I visit Zaynab on Sunday with my family and friends for Sunday buffet lunch 🥗 I find it over hyped and nothing much .. 1- The food was too sweet each and every dish is sweet only Dum Aloo was good to eat . 2- As my knowledge buffets are 3 course meal there is no dessert 🧁 in the buffet which we feel strange and food looks so incomplete. 3-Prices are also not so cheap it’s -£19.50 adult and 13.50 for kids according to this price we got only 2 starters papodam 2 type rice on lamb 2 veg 3 chicken no dessert 🍨 4- Food is not at all INDIAN taste I really don’t find food good at all .. though my partner like the few dishes . My review is genuine if you going for Indian food and Indian taste this is not a place for you for sure I don’t recommend to The people like me who is from India and know the actual Indian taste . Not recommend!!!

Brilliant late night meal. Popped in with 45 minutes left until closing, immediately greeted and welcomed to a table, the background music was actually good, and once seated I was immediately offered drinks and poppadoms. Had a classic lamb dupiaza with boiled rice and a cheese nan. Service was rapid (though it was obviously quiet at nearly 9:30pm) and despite being the only one there, everything was fantastically fresh. The lamb flaked and was easy to pull apart and had some fantastic flavours, clearly well marinated, no excessive oil in the sauce and a really big serving of fluffy and perfectly cooked white rice. I need to make a special mention for the cheese nan, as some curry houses just melt cheese on to a nan, this time it was done right, and baked into the bread itself, and it really hits different. £30 all in, and worth every penny. I highly recommend giving Zaynab a try.

Waiter made my nine year old daughter cry by telling her to move off my lap whilst clearing the table and to sit back in her seat. What mate. No. No. She can sit in my lap. Totally unacceptable. £150 bill to be treated very poor. Was then told by the manger the waiter had a disability when we complained. The waiter shouldn’t be a waiter if he can’t have communication skills with customers. Should be out the back washing up. Spoilt my eldest daughter 12th birthday meal. Living very local we won’t be returning again and will advise others to keep away. Pity as food is very nice.

As a hotelier i feel the senior service staff is very rude and very unprofessional.we ordered starter but staff insisted that we need to order till dessert right away . As we dont know about meal portion we said we will order main course later but he said that cannot be done it has to be ordered together else he wont take order as he mentioned . This is the 1st time i am hearing something like this ever which is very annoying and they made us wait for bill around 45 minutes even when the restaurant is not crowded .Looks like they want their customer to hate the restaurant.

3 courses. £50 a head. Delightful food. Attentive staff. You can hear yourself think and converse easily with friends.

First time at Zaynab, service was welcoming and friendly. The mains and sides were really tasty, fresh and hot. The only thing I would change is upgrade the chutneys that come with the poppadoms. I found them like a jam/syrup rather than a chutney. It's my preference but otherwise I would return.

The MOST amazing Indian food - this is our favourite restaurant in the entire area. We have been using it consistently now for over 3 years and have taken and recommended to family and friends who all love it too. Fresh, quality ingredients, beautiful meats, fantastic dishes that are simply a taste sensation. Sam and his team are wonderful hosts and do their best to make your experience fantastic every single time. We cannot find anywhere that can match Zaynab.

What a find! The usual Indian restaurant I go to when working near Ipswich is now a pizza shop! So glad it changed or I wouldn't have tried this place! Fantastic food at reasonable prices served by fabulous staff! Many thanks, I'll definitely be back.

Unfortunately very disappointing experience. The menu prices don’t include VAT and so what were not exactly cheap prices were in fact 20% more when the bill came - which was a bit of a shocker!! But the worst part of that was that the food wasn’t even very nice, my main dish was tasteless (prawn Rogan) and one of the main dishes ordered didn’t resemble anything like the description (Num Num which should have been ginger/garlic was very definitely some extremely over-sweet coconut dish!) but my friend decided to eat it rather than send it back and spoil the flow of our meal. The breads didn’t taste freshly made and were very small, the rice wasn’t good, and the drinks were flat. All in all not a very authentic, or enjoyable, Indian meal. In summary… we won’t be returning here any time soon.

Amazing food and a super atmosphere

What an awful experience ,I had chicken tikka masala what a disgrace to Indian food this was sweet like honey small portion overly priced I would not recommend this to anybody ,these are obviously amateur cooks I have had a better Indian takeaway from the supermarket . shame on you.

Take-away was superb. Been left highly frustrated and disappointed with other Indian food in the area, but Zaynab was the best we’ve had for a very long time

One of the worst indian food i ever tried , i cannot call this food indian food as i am indian . Guy who served he said at the end this is for white people ( british ) which was most shocking and unexpected. i think ready meals from supermarket taste way better then eating at this restaurant. hourble food .will not recommend to anyone.

This restaurant is not for Indian, will never come again. There are a lot more better restaurants out which are way better than this. Over rated and their food nowhere near Indian food tast. A bit disappointed. The food is really good, so props to the chef, but it doesn't justify the high cost of this place - I'd expect to pay similar in central London. Service wasn't brilliant either. Maybe this is a good takeout option, but I wouldn't eat in again.

Myself and my wife found this place by accident. Lemon Rice was best she has had in over 10 years, tried the chicken Num Num.... Like a sooped up Korma, more flavour and more complexity. Everything super hot, fresh and tasty. Will now become our Indian of choice since moving up here from London last year.

Great host and an excellent location just off the A14 Caple St Mary, Suffolk Food was brilliant and the atmosphere was spot on. Plenty of parking and easy access. They also do special tribute band nights, like Elvis, so watch out for promo...

A great meal with really good service.

Working in the area the obvious thing is to look who's doing well , myself and my colleagues came across this lovely Indian restaurant, just tucked away off the A12 south of Ipswich, all being it's a Monday evening and the restaurant was quiet the service was second to none, the food was absolutely outstanding, if you're ever in the area it's a must, as a northern curry connoisseur I'm more than qualified to go give this restaurant full points.

Food very greasy, expensive....wouldnt go back.

People should be aware that this place does not include the VAT on their menu, we were surprised after a number of visits we had an extra 20% charged today that we don't normally. The staff were argumentative and rude after I pointed this out. Have been several times now and always loved the food but after the treatment today I will not be returning. We had wondered why the place was empty on a Saturday night and I guess we now know the reason why

It was the Sunday lunchtime buffet menu and it was a very English Curry menu. Good acoustics and pleasant background music. Tables far enough apart to not worry your conversation was being overheard.

The nicest indian meal I have eaten, had the chilli lamb shank. The meat fell off the bone. The flavours were absolutely gorgeous.

Friendly staff. But all the things we tried were sweet. Curries, biryanis had more sugar than a kitkat bar. Keema naan had hardly any meat in it, and was Sweet. Lol. This place isn't for brown people.

Beautiful Indian restaurant located just off the A12 coming into Capel St Mary. Beautiful atmosphere in here and the gents are all very polite and helpful. Lovely experience we would recommend, and the food itself was well cooked and tender! Defiantly one of the best in this area!

I've been here a couple of times now and the food is spot on every time! I recently saw an Elvis tribute act here and it was everything I hoped for and more! I recommend visiting the Zaynab even if it's out the way!

So we went to this one because you guys rated it quite high which made me want to check it out myself, and I have to say, I quite agree with you. I went for the Vindaloo, personally as a chilli head, my personal preference would have been to have it a bit more spicy, however it was indeed quite spicy, but I do like it VERY spicy, mainly because I eat raw chillies, Carolina Reapers etc. The dish itself was very tasty and had a lot of substance, sometimes you go to places and it's just thick'ish coloured water with a couple of bits of this and that in it that tastes quite bland, and made spicy with lots of chilli powder which ruins it even more, well, this was NOT one of those places!! As I said the dish not only had substance to it by having more than 3 sparse ingredients in it. but it was very flavoursome as well, a top notch dish. My coconut rice could have done with slightly more coconut flavour in it, don't get me wrong you could clearly tell it was a coconut rice, I just put a bit more in mine, but I would very happily order this again and again. The saag Aloo was spot on for flavour and put together very well, with perfectly done potato's both in this and the Vindaloo, which also had a good amount of chicken in it as well which I forgot to mention, however it could have been a bit more tender. Both my friends dishes were also well filled out with meant and other relevant ingredients, and I was assured they were both very tasty. My last little note, is that for the price I would have liked to have seen slightly bigger portions, we normally pay around £15 to £20 less than we did here for similar dishes and drinks. Overall a very good experience and I will be going back here again, mainly to try the all you can eat buffet on a Sunday!

The dishes are just so tasty and filling. The ingredients are fresh and flavourful. We had the king prawn biryandi and lamb passanda dishes with garlic and plain naans. The portions are large for an Indian and great value for money. By far the best Indian we've had in this area.

Excellent but pricy.Spent nearly £100 on takeaway most was good however my lamb Madras was the worst I've ever tasted it was like someone had put suger in it. Absolutely dreadful 😫

Had dinner here last night, and cannot fault it. It was absolutely brilliant!! From the service, to the venue to the most important part - the food - was all amazing. It has all the dishes you expect from a typical British Indian (we tried the masala and it was a winner), but it also has authentic bengali dishes which were a hit too! So if you're looking for a venue that is spacious to make you feel safe in this environment, food that is genuinely "authentic" indian and service that is friendly and accommodating, this is the place to go. I can't believe it's only 10 mins away from us so we will be visiting more often. Can't wait to try the other dishes!

Excellent food & service in a modern restaurant.

Indian food isn’t my favorite but this one changed my mind!! I enjoyed my dinner, I recommended the nice fresh scallops for starters…superbe, I will come back for sure !

Wow what a surprise and yes this was a recommendation from Tripadvisor. Once again not in the top 10, in fact number 16 of 286. Looking for someone to eat with good reviews and our travel or distance to the venue not an issue. Long story short, we arrive by side of the A12 to see what looks like a closed little Chef. With the clouds gathering my wife wants to go and get back home before the rain. I need to feed and open the door and walk in and by now we have also seen a poster for A travelling Elvis. Intreagued? So was as we had seen the Elvis impersonator some 9 years earlier. More doors, we enter. The room before us is full of tables laid and in waiting for feast to be served. No guests or staff in sight I call out and so begins our feast. The Food! The appetisers, popdoms with beautiful accompaniments, starters fresh well cooked chicken with great spices and flavour, Salmon tandoori dry cooked and charred to perfection. Main dishes Tandoori King Prawn shashlik and Lamb Num Num with pilau rice and sagaloo. All very fresh cooked perfectly and with spice so well balanced. This really has to be tried to be believed. We will definitely be visiting again soon, and big thank you to our host and server Nasim.

The place was absolute banger, me and my partner were on a road trip and we stopped for an early dinner tuesday. we had this young lad who served us and despite being busy managed to talk to us about a lot of things. i think they are short staffed as the lad was the only one we saw working. The foods were exquisite and compliments to the chef. Highly recommended
