Eclectic, unusual, madly decorated village pub that does amazing food. To say I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement but pleasant it most certainly was. Just make sure you visit here hungry. No, really hungry! The portions are huge and the food is sublime.

The White Horse Great Waldingfield AVOID AT ALL COSTS Terrible experience for a family Chicken fillet sweet and sour Chicken tasted of soap and looked horrible Lasagne not nice Ham egg and chips ham slimy eggs weren’t great and found a white hair in the food!! Chips strange! Spoke an older lady at the bar who I assume was the landlady and stated we weren’t impressed and the two girls couldn’t eat their food and were taking them to Macdonalds so they could eat and her response was to look at me filthy and tell me she’d refund the girls 2 meals but not to go back again! Like I’d go back to such a horrible place with such a horrible manager anyway! Waste of £50 of my money

Very friendly people was made to feel very welcome, I2 of us had steak, it was very good and really well cooked. I like it there, had net been in there for 40yrs and it won't be that long before we trturn again I can guarantee. All in all great night, great food lovely people. Perfect

Very helpful and friendly service with good food

I stopped in just after midnight as part of the Dunwich Dynamo cycle ride, as the White Horse had posted in our Facebook group that would be open to serve food and refreshments. They did this Brilliantly , despite masses of riders they moved the queue fastly and efficiently, they worked their butts off, and All with a friendly greeting and good conversation 👍👍

Characterful pub with a tasty choice of pub grub. Even though they had a limited menu when I went (due to a funeral) they were still offering all the pub classics like Hunter's Chicken, Fish and Chips, Sausage and Mash etc. My sausage and mash was hot and delicious and tasted home cooked. Prices were reasonable in these inflationary times and the pub ambience was good. I would've liked to have seen a bigger choice of beers but I was very happy with my Icebreaker. I will be going back to check out the Sunday lunches. I hear they are fantastic.

Great pub in Sudbury. Went there with my mum had something to eat & drink. Girls behind the bar were top notch and gave great customer service. A great asset to Green King.

Awful atmosphere. I'm 45 and this is the worst pub I have ever had the displeasure of frequenting.

Had Sunday lunch as we were staying in the area. The roast beef was great, plenty of beef and 5 vegetables on your plate. Service was good and the staff were friendly. The puddings were amazing. Would definitely visit again if in the area.

Nice little village pub, very welcoming and a great Sunday lunch!

Five of us had roast dinner, it was very good, especially if you like lots to eat! There were Five different vegetables plus roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding chicken and stuffing. I must admit it was a little off-putting because the plate was piled high and I could only manage to eat half of it, in fact only one of us managed to eat the whole lot! Having said that, I would definitely recommend this place and the staff were lovely with a good atmosphere.

Exeptionaly good, segregation between diners and drinkers could be improved .Cannot fault the quantity and quality of the food embarrassingly large portions .Definitely one of the best Sunday lunches available in the area.Noted the 5 stars for cleanliness well deserved and immediately apparent..we will definitely return.

Fantastic pub with super nice and hospitable hosts and amazing food. We were visiting the area for the first time and came across this pub by chance. The staff went above and beyond to help us feel at home and comfortable. All throughout the evening they treated us like king and queen and on top of the amazing service, the burgers we had were amazing and very generous portions too. Overall, a very positive experience and highly recommended.

Never been to a pub as good at this. Incredibly friendly staff, an expansive choice of food and all in very generous portions. Also an excellent hub for the local village. Will definitely go again.

Absolutely abysmal. Food was cold and unappetising, the woman who served us behind the bar looked like she wanted to be anywhere but there and had an utter lack of manners and they had cars for sale at the front of the pub, when does any respectable pub use their own frontage as a forecourt for cheap bangers??! Such a shame to see what could be an attractive village brought down by the local pub.

Never been here before heard good reports of the food served here . I can honestly say that it was the best roast dinner I've ever had out . Proper home cooked food . Food was hot well cooked and plenty of it . And the beef melted in your mouth . You do have to wait a little while but that's what you expect being freshly prepared . I Give it 10 out of 10 . I will certainly be going back . And trying something different next time 👍

Had a random stop on a ride about on my motorbike with my wife... We wanted a Ploughmans sadly it wasn't on the menu but it was not any trouble whatsoever for one to be done for both of us ( Cheese & Ham ) and it was gorgeous...Thank you again...

Lovely pub with good atmosphere. We had to wait a while for our food but it was well worth it! It was cooked beautifully and a lot of it. Will now be my “go to” for Sunday lunch!

The food was more than enough. Huge portions of well cooked traditional Sunday roast. I can't comment on the desert as most of our group couldn't fit any in. The bar staff were friendly and accommodating. The pub itself is next to a roundabout but the traffic does not impose. There was a lovely lack of bar music. I had lager so I'm not sure how good the choice of beers are.

We've just moved to the area and had some friends over last weekend so thought we'd pay a trip to this little village pub. It's tiny inside, but currently decorated like a Christmas wonderland so I loved it immediately. Staff and regulars are all friendly, good selection of beers and spirits, although we didn't try any wine so can't comment on that. And good prices too, a round of drinks for 6 came to under £30. Having moved from the south east of England, where it would be more like £50, I could get used to that! We were a little peckish after our early dinner, so ordered a few bowls of chips to share which were very nice too. Hot, well cooked and a generous portion. All in all a lovely, if little, Village pub.
