The best restaurants in Boxford Babergh East of England

Came across this lovely, friendly tearoom/cafe which is located in the pretty village of Boxford and was so impressed, I visited twice in four days. My first visit was for tea and homemade cake and the second for breakfast when I had smoked salmon and scrambled egg on toast which was the best I’ve ever had. I noticed that they have a lot of local trade and seemed to be a popular meeting place for locals which is always a good sign. The lady who runs/owns the business is very friendly and extremely efficient, I will certainly be going back next time I am in the area.

We are in town on a business trip and have eaten at different locations each evening. Fox and Hounds was by far our favourite. We had a bit of wait as there was a larger party that came in ahead of us. But we were seated in a private room and had the place to ourselves for most of our meal. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and couldn't have asked for better service. Katie and Jenny were both incredible. Jenny is the absolute sweetest and Katie was a delight to chat with. We even got a hug. You don't get many places that are that friendly anymore. We were literally welcomed with open arms. I would absolutely move here in a heartbeat based entirely on this evening's experience. And the town is incredibly gorgeous as well. We can't wait to visit again. Thank you both for a great dinner.

Perfect pub, huge selection of beers on tap and excellent pizza :-) I would give more than 5 stars if I could. Service is always exceptional 😀

Fabulous old-world pub with a log fire and comfortable seating, quirky and cosy.

Wonderful welcome from the hosts. The staff were friendly and very helpful. First time in a restaurant with our four legged friend Roxy (a very reactive Jack Russell), the staff were amazing with her and we felt relaxed. Lovely choice and quality of food beautifully presented. We had an excellent meal catching up. The village is delightful. Thank you everyone.

We called in for a pint and light lunch after a morning’s country walk and were not disappointed. This is a ‘proper’ pub that also serves a limited range of food and it is in a rural location. It is good to see it surviving...
