Camped over night with a large group of friends and had a great time. The pizza’s are amazing and the choice of beer is dangerous!

Tried the Suffolk Sharing Platter, now totally replete. All beautiful Suffolk produce and homemade pickles to die for. Family friendly. We'll be back to try the pizzas.

Visited midweek for evening food, really busy (good job we booked a table), great atmosphere with lots of locals in drinking, limited menu but we ate excellent pizzas and charcuterie board, loads of food and v tasty, drank beer in flights so we sampled most of their draft beers and all v good (EXCEPT the sour beer which was awful). It was a great night, many thanks and we will return.

Pub lovely Food lovely Staff lovely Campsite dreadfully over crowded. 30 pitches, impossible to leave 6m between tents/ camper vans/ caravans, huge fire safety risk. Ridiculously noisy until 3am, the sound of vomiting individuals then continued. The toilet block consists of one mens and one women toilet, with about 80 individuals on the campsite, when the pub is closed, this is woefully inadequate. The men's toilet had what I hope was mud up the wall. Sadly instead of the quiet, relaxed, family friendly campsite we have experienced for the last 15 years, it has now become a rowdy, festival style, over crowded, unpleasant place to stay.

Great place to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine, British weather allowing, as it is so peaceful. Looked like a great selection of beers, but we were unable to try them as we were driving. The lunches were a little disappointing, as not much of a selection for vegetarians, and the ploughman's lunch was more of an expensive snack than a filling meal for the hungry diners in our group. However, the staff were lovely and the pub has a great ambience. We will definitely be back as the the location is beautiful.

My partner and I had a lovely few days here in the Spruce cottage with our border collie. The cottage is basic but has what you need, beds are comfy, it's quiet and a nice change to be in the countryside surrounding from busy London. Only thing is cottage doesn't have WiFi but you can go the pub for it next to the cottage. The pub is a unique gem. The food, vibe and hospitality is amazing. The staff are very friendly and accommodating and welcoming. The food is delicious. Loved the charcuterie board with fresh cooked warm soughdough bread and local cheeses and delicious meats and salads etc. The pizza wood fired using their soughdough is also delicious. The board games, bar billiards table and darts and ring toss and wide range of books makes it also an added fun place to socialise in. They have a wide range of beers and ciders and of course as the pub is running adjacent to thier own brewery they sell a range of high class beers and ciders. Their sours beers are my favourite. I also want to thanks this place for welcoming my dog and being accommodating to him as well. Will deffo be back to stay in the cottages or camp again, as also did last year.

Since moving to the Sudbury, we have looked for a genuine country pub close by. After our first visit yesterday, I am very pleased to have found exactly what we were looking for. This is NOT a gastropub. There are enough of them in the area. The White Horse is a genuine PUB, with on site brewing and a superb range of beers, ciders, gins and other drinks. Their food such as sourdough pizza, platters of cheese and meats, are ideal accompaniments to the drinks on offer. They also have exceptional staff to look after you. We will be returning very soon.

Was OK, just. They don't do pub food anymore but have visiting fast food wagons! They have a food night at 40 pounds per person, really? There are some tapas type things but way too expensive. We think they don't realise they are not in London and it was all a bit pretentious for a suffolk pub. Otherwise the beer was alright.

Great pub with a lovely range of interesting beers. We were staying in a cottage locally walked the do there on a Friday night and stayed for burger and chips from their visiting burger van. Nice buzz on a Friday night. Liked the pub so much we walked the dog down for a beer three evenings on the trot.

We were SO lucky to have this gem of a place within walking distance of our holiday cottage. A really warm welcome, friendly staff. Great selection of beers & truly great steak & chips on Saturday night, courtesy of a visiting food truck (Meat & Greet). We returned on Wednesday, when they had live music (a few guys playing classic songs). We went for one drink & stayed for more! Didn’t leave until 10pm. Great pub. Great friendly atmosphere. Great place. It’s in a pretty idyllic spot, too.

We were staying in the area and needs a gluten free takeaway. Even though they were super busy with an event, on hearing we were struggling to get a GF takeaway they squeezed us in. We had GF pizza, it was AMAZING! It’s been years since I’ve had a takeaway pizza and it was perfect! The staff were so friendly and helpful. We will definitely be ordering from them again next time we’re in the area.

We love this pub and campsite and have visited several times. It's only a small field attached to to pub but perfect for us in our campervan. The facilities are always clean and tidy. There are always several ciders and beers to sample and work tour way through. We came last year between lockdowns for the night and it was lovely to visit and relax for the evening, there was even a band playing acoustically, which was heaven after so long without seeing or hearing live music.

Absolutely fantastic. We were meant to stay for 2 nights at the camping site but decided to extend our stay for an extra one. Jane and Mike are lovely landlords, always happy to help and very friendly. The pub's atmosphere is laid-back and the other customers are always up for a chat if you feel like it. You can also regularly see the two great brewers Dani and Tom from the brewery next door Little Earth Project, and enjoy their delicious beers on tap at the White Horse. We will definitely be back again! :)

We have just returned from a five night stay in Larch Cottage at The White Horse in Edwardstone. We went because my husband loves the beers brewed and sold on-site. We have had the most amazing time. Mike and Jane were wonderful. They were warm and friendly but in no way intrusive. On the hottest day ever on record they went out of their way to make sure that we were as comfortable as possible. They bought as ice, a fan and a cotton sheet to sleep under instead of the duvet. We ate at The White Horse on our first night and our little girl devoured her meal. I had the homemade chilli and chips which was the best chilli I have eaten (aside from my husband's). It was all excellent value in our opinion. All of the staff, and indeed other customers, were really friendly and keen to suggest places we should visit. We loved the county. So unspoilt, quiet and beautiful. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the brewery and being able to drink beers at source as well as chat to the brewer and his partner. They kindly gave him a tour which he also found really interesting. I discovered I liked cider..Well the 'apple crumble' cider available at The White Horse anyway. The accommodation is exactly what you would want and expect for this kind of relaxing holiday. Had we lacked anything then I am in doubt that Mike and Jane would have sorted it for us. We had everything we needed and more and will certainly be returning. Great place, great staff, great surroundings and of course great beer and food! Thank you.

I was at this pub with work mates on Friday the 26th of July for a nice cold pint and Ribs and chips.two of my work mates had the scampi and chips.and me and terry had the ribs and chips.it was nice but not worth the £12.50 it cost as the ribs had i very small amount of meat on them. I wish that I had the scampi and chips now as I think the ribs were over priced by about £5.I will not be having them again.
