I had to write a review about this Premier Inn because the staff here are INCREDIBLE, which makes the whole experience so much better! They are clearly working really hard to create a friendly and welcoming hotel, even when it's a chain. Selina in particular was an absolute gem - I can't thank her enough for her help, friendliness, joy and kindness at breakfast (she even gave us a little handmade gift when we left, nothing to do with the Premier Inn, but just something she gives away to people as an act of kindness! We were so touched). Thank you Selina and the team for making our stay so great, really appreciate you and the work you do :)

Lenny Henry has let the side down with this one. I'm quite surprised to read so many good reviews. I'm not a fussy person at all but the experience we had was terrible. I've only just stayed at another Premier Inn up in Newport near Telford a week ago and that was miles better. Where do I start... 1. Booked a family room online. Asked if we wanted breakfast when booking and declined. On arrival we were asked again if we wanted breakfast. We said no thanks. We were then asked a third time by the same person if we were sure if we didn't want breakfast!? NO I DONT WANT TO ORDER BREAKFAST! Being mildly intelligent 40 year old adults I think we are capable of knowing if we do or do not want breakfast thank you and do not need to be asked three times. 2. On entering the room there was a slight smell of what I can only describe as twosies. Outside there was a drain cover not far from the window. 3. The family room size was a joke. Four of us in the room and with the beds made up there was no room to move. Only one chair and no sofa between four of us. 4. No air conditioning and with four sleeping in a tiny room had to open window as so stuffy. Could only hear road noise all night. 5. The family bathroom was just a shower. Young children don't shower. 6. So far not able to wash, not able to sit down, not able to breathe through my nose or sniff something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. 7. It gets worse... So the room being so small meant that the adult bed had no leg room to get into or out of the bed. I have prehiperal neuropathy, nerve damage to my leg. Had to throw myself into bed then forward roll myself to get out. Worse still the bed was pushed over to make room for the other two beds meaning my head was directly touching the light switches when lying on my pillow so every few minutes I accidently turned on the lights. 8. Zero sleep for me. Good night guaranteed? Where is the guarantee Lenny? 9. Gets even worse. It seems the electrics are dodgy in the room. The light switches are loose and broken. The one by my head and also the other side was flickering and buzzing. 10. Consistency. How come for cheaper than this room I can stay in another Premier inn in and have a totally different and better experience? The other booking I got Aircon, room twice the size, bath and shower etc.? 11. Found out the shower is for Suffolk sized people, ie short. I'm less than 6ft and my head pretty much touched the top of the shower head so had to bend my legs to wash. Didn't bother in the end. 12. Go to reception in the morning to complain and guess what? No one there, just a box to post back your door card. I would like a refund. Guess that's never going to happen. 13. Unlucky for some, including me. The only good thing here is the location as you can drive away very quickly and never come back. A prison room has better facilities. Would I stay here or recommend? No way. Horrible experience and couldn't have been much worse.

Staff extremely friendly and welcoming. Room clean and fully functional. Excellent cooked breakfast to order (no buffet). Just what we needed for a couple of days in Ipswich.

Rooms are nice, beds are comfortable but the WiFi is unworkable unless you pay for the premium service. In an area with limited service this was frustrating

Just stayed here for the weekend for a family wedding. The staff at this PI are so welcoming, friendly and cannot do enough for you. The restaurant in the morning offers a wide range for breakfast and the full English was amazing, fresh and hot with plenty of drink choice too. Forgot a belt for my partners suit and the gentleman who was in charge kindly gave his belt to my partner for the day, so kind, thats service above and beyond. Also to the young woman who cut my partner an additional key so I could go to bed. Would recommend this place in a heartbeat and would definitely stay here if visiting Ipswich again.

Great place to stay. Friendly staff. Clean room. Plenty of parking. Would love somewhere in Sudbury but this premier inn is next best place. Always go there when visiting our daughter.

Wow... I've driven past this place on numerous occasions en route to and from work and never even noticed it. Today, I visited with a pal for Sunday lunch. What an exquisite hidden gem this place is. It's an absolutely amazing place. Massive. Up to date. Spacious. Relaxed. Caters for all. It's not cheap, granted. However, the experience is definitely worth it. The food, roast beef, and trimmings on this occasion. Big portions are excellently crafted and promptly served by knowledgeable, polite, and friendly staff. Vast selection at the bar, which is also complemented by equally knowledgeable polite friendly and attentive staff. Cosy indoor area with log burner and comfortable seating. Larger area at the bar with numerous tables very spacious and relaxed feel. Outside is a carpark for around 50 cars (approximately) with hedges blocking the majority of the car park from view there is a grassed area with lots of outdoor tables of differing sizes with seating. A very pleasant hidden gem. I may well make this "my go-to place" based on today's visit. Thoroughly enjoyable experience. Thank you to one and all at "The Swan @ Stratford St Mary." I am looking forward to my next visit already.

Most disappointed after an exhausting day offering an event for 85 people in hadleigh to find we could not have a relaxing drink in the garden with a responsible child. If children aren't able to go into the pub/garden you should display it outside. Should not have felt ashamed asking for a drink to sit in the garden to then be told to leave. Please change your signage.
