Stopped off on the Harringworth Viaduct walk. The service was incredible and there was an excellent range of gluten free and vegan options so we were very happy! Dog friendly in the bar area and an excellent choice of great wines and beers. Very friendly and staff very helpful and really welcoming - particularly when it got busy!

We visited this pubs with friends yesterday with 4 dogs who were very well behaved, the welcome was warm and friendly and pub lovely and cozy. Our order was taken quickly and food served promptly. The food was great quality, quantity and value for money, would recommend

Went there whilst on holiday, what`s not to like, proper little pub which is cosy as they come. Firstly the guy behind the bar was 5 star, as someone who likes good beer his knowledge was second to none. Three good beers on tap, shame i was driving. The menu was really good and about 3 vegan options as well, we had pork in a green peppercorn sauce with roasties and veg which was scrummy to say the least, the other meal was lemon sole fillets in tempura batter with chips and salad, both meals were great, we were tempted with desserts as they had some good old fashioned pudding, my wife had butterscotch bread and butter pudding and i had cherry tart, both came with lashings of custard, great food, great village pub, what was not to like.

After calling in for late afternoon drinks, we booked a table in restaurant for a Friday evening meal. I would recommend their Spring Ale for beer drinkers accompanied by their home made pork scratching. In May Friday night dinners are half price. The food and service were excellent and the dining room has tables well spread out so conversation is easy. The place combines the quaint ancient pub with a modern and nicely decorated dining room.

Good points - Service was spot on, Lady behind bar superb, other staff excellent Not so good points -. I am afraid however the mothers day menu left much to be desired. Sirloin steaks were the thinnest I have ever seen, tasty yes, but served with a few whole Brussel sprouts ( Really ) and chunky chips, some combination. The chicken curry was spicy and again tasty but was Luke warm. Lamb shank excellent, Prawns very tasty. Starters were good. I just wondered why you didn't just provided your superb carvery on the day. I will be back to sample your menu, in due course - but when Fathers Day comes, it would be nice to have the option.
