Stayed over for a couple of nights. Didn't have a desk in the room which was a pain, but the Sunday supper' (a smaller roast dinner) was to die for. Guinness at £5.50 a pint

Silly to have your business advertised on your car when you are driving like a complete and utter idiot. Hope you have better management skills than driving :) For the driver of the black Range Rover discovery R33 GXD

Lovely country pub with rooms. We were visiting the area and seeing friends so stayed for 3 nights in the hare room. It's not huge room but ok for a short stay and has everything you need, bathroom is a bit tight but great shower, clean room and peaceful at night. We didn't find the hours church bells intrusive at all. Staff are absolutely amazing, friendly, helpful and chatty. Pub does wonderful food, the £5 meal Sunday evening and Monday is such a bargain, Thai beef salad exceptional. Breakfast is great and the lady who manages the breakfast room so friendly. Great location for exploring the area. Thanks for 3 lovely nights.

Lovely friendly, buzzy pub! We chose to sit in the garden which was surrounded by herbs and veg. Menu was a mix of traditional Sunday plus specials. Everything was delicious and service was attentive. We left enough room for pudding too! Good value at apx £30 per head for 3courses and the dog was welcome too. Excellent

Rural pub with a big personality. Joe was awesome, so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The food on Monday night was amazing and a blooming steal at £5 each. We stayed in The Hare room which was cosy and the en-suite was rather snug but everywhere was clean. The breakfast today was lovely and the lady again could not do enough for us. Well done for getting it bob on and making us feel so welcome.

We had such a lovely meal here today . The Sunday lunch was so good , tender beef , veg cooked to perfection and a great Yorkshire with an additional jug of gravy brought to the table. The service was fantastic and very welcoming. Would highly recommend

A lovely country gastro pub - the food here is fantastic!! A little remote in a beautiful village setting, this pub is always buzzing with local regulars whether for their Monday foodie nights, monthly banquets or for dinner off of their weekly changing menu. Their staff are friendly & their rooms are comfortable, clean, fresh, well designed & extremely affordable. I stay here regularly & highly recommend a visit or a stay.

Really gorgeous country pub with rooms. The food was amazing. Rooms are super lovely but bring eyemasks and earplugs if you want an early night and to not be woken up by the sun.

Dinner at The George and Dragon early on a Saturday night. In summary, meh. Not enough flavour in anything. Ok pub grub, but not for the price. Won’t be trying again

I had lunch here today and can honestly say it was one of the nicest lunches I’ve had in a long time. Fab atmosphere, incredible service from really friendly and professional staff. Food was delicious and fast, table set up was lovely, really well presented and sparkly clean. Just an all round great pub in an excellent location. 10/10 recommend for couples/family and I reckon it’s a good place to come on a Saturday night with friends.

We have recently spent 4 nights at the George & Dragon and we have to say what a find. The staff are very friendly and can't do enough for you. The room we had (The Fox Room) was spotless, exceptionally clean and decorated/furnished to a high spec, as was the bathroom and shower. The pub is a bonus for a well earned pint after a long day out touring round the wonderful local villages. Finally, the breakfasts were amazing as was the sausage and mash meal we had on out first night. We have read the other marvellous reviews and we agree with all the positive comments made. We would rate the George & Dragon and staff 11 out of 10 if we could. This pub is definitely worth a visit.

🌟 We visited The George & Dragon earlier this week as a large group of friends. I just wanted to take a moment to say how incredible this place was. We were met by Joe who made us feel really welcome and kept our drinks topped up all night! We initially sat by a toasty fire 🔥 with a cosy comfortable surround, where we munched our way through some delicious canapés! Later we moved through to the dining room where Chef and owner, Ralph cooked us a phenomenal family-style dining extravaganza, including delicious steak, duck, fish and the best darn crispy, fluffy chips I have ever tasted! Thank you so much to you all for your incredible hospitality, we will DEFINITELY be back!! 🌟

This is a lovely place to stay. On arrival a very nice welcome by all. The place is very clean and a few lovely snugs. My room was spotless and tastefully done. My only gripe is, if there were two of you the bathroom door was a sliding one with big gaps either side due to the skirting, this was fine for me as it was just me The food was excellent, and one of the staff who I can only assume was the manager was very attentive. The breakfast was excellent and all in all a very pleasant stay.

We stayed the night here to break a long drive and glad we did. The bar was so cosy and welcoming just as a country pub should be. Staff were friendly and food for both the evening meal and included breakfast was exceptional. We stayed in a small but modern and very comfortably room behind the main building. As we visited off season B&B rate was low and I would say great value for money. Would certainly recommend this place.

The George and Dragon is our local. The atmosphere in the bar area is very nice. Last Saturday we ate in the restaurant and had an amazing meal. Ever since we have lived here it's been good but last Saturday the bar was raised again.

We really enjoyed our stay! We were in the hare room and it was comfortable. The rooms are above the pub so you can hear the music/noise a little bit, but it shut down at 11, so not a huge deal. If you go to bed super early, that may be something to consider. We had fish and chips for dinner at the restaurant and it was yummy, but what we really enjoyed was the sticky toffee pudding! As Americans, my husband and I had never tried it before but I am so glad we did! We still keep talking about it weeks later 🤤. We tried it at a different restaurant and it did not hold a candle to the George and Dragons. The included breakfast was also really tasty and had a nice set up of coffees, teas, and juices. Overall, we would recommend both as a place to stay and a place to eat.

Great two night stay at the George & Dragon! Warmly greeted on arrival, we stayed in the pheasant room which was a very well presented, clean and good sized room. Breakfast and evening meals were excellent and having a few drinks in front of the log burner was very nice! All staff were very friendly and helpful. Our stay couldn't have been any better.

We have visited here today and had the most spectacular roast! The service was incredible, the staff are so friendly and can’t do enough for you. The landlord, Ralph, made a special visit to our table to make sure everything was hunky dory and we ended up chatting for ages! We shall definitely be making another trip here… only next time, we’ll be booking a room to stay over night so we can drink some more of the delicious beer and wine! Thanks all!

Excellent pizza. Obviously best to eat at the tiny bar in the window immediately it comes out the forno - but is kind of cramped. But if you can get it home fast enough it’s still good.

With nothing quite like it nearby this restaurant offers to scratch that ramen itch. Real authentic and quality food served by friendly staff. Very pleased with what we ordered and were given great recommendations by staff to return soon as they begin to offer even more varied cuisine including a curry dish.

We decided to eat here last Saturday. The weather was drizzling, and we noticed a queue had formed when we first walked by. We returned around 1345 and were given a table for 4 upstairs straight away. The service and atmosphere were excellent. Three of us chose to order from the daily specials. Two orders were vegetarian. The Tuscan bean soup was huge! We all were very pleased with our meals. The prices were reasonable, and because the place was getting generally quieter, we never felt rushed. Highly recommended.
