Great food great service Even better than ever

Our many visits to the Hunloke Arms have always been exceptional. However tonight was disappointing. It commenced well with great service and tasty starters, followed by delicious main courses. After we had finished the main course the waitress came over to ask if we had enjoyed the food and asked if we would like desserts. We said, ‘yes please’ but she was interrupted by a couple on the next table asking for coffee. After waiting for some time we thought the waitress had forgotten us so I went to the bar to request a dessert menu. Again, we waited for a while, wondering if we were going to get served. Everyone seemed busy clearing tables etc. but still nothing happened and guests were leaving. It must have been over half an hour and still no service so we decided to just pay the bill and leave. So, no dessert, no coffee, and now we were having to wait to pay! We ended up going to the bar to pay but there was no reference to the deserts or whether we had enjoyed the meal. I hope this level of service does not become a habit.

Attendance was for a wake. Lovely proper old pub feel (a rarely these days). Barman made a cracking cuppa.

Good food prepared by Rich and great service as always from all the staff. Frankie was our server today who is always welcoming and a joy to talk to whenever we go whether it be for breakfast or lunch.

1st time with mega bites, i had a breakfast delivered amongst other food for my colleagues.....awful! My breakfast had no toast, no black pudding, no mushrooms, egg cooked hard and hash brown extremely soggy with grease. Other colleagues had food missing too and said full of grease and chips disgusting. 1st impressions stick, will never go back!

I booked a table in the conservatory. There were 14 of us in total. The lady who took our order for food and drinks was most efficient. The waiter and waitress brought all our food orders to the table. Nothing was too much trouble. We would very much like to revisit. Just a suggestion but could we pay for everything at the table instead of the bar? This is only down to quite a few people in the group having mobility issues.
