Lovely atmosphere and new landlords that clearly want it to become a friendly local pub again. They are working really hard to clean it up and get it back to it's former glory. Hopefully the kitchen will be back up and running later this year and food will be back on the menu.

Love our local pub. Great landlord and lady who know how to build loyalty in customers and keep them coming back. Last night they had a Jamaica food night. What a fantastic meal we had. I am of west Indian decent but born and bred in Nottingham. Both my parents came from Jamaica and I grew up eating predominantly West Indian food. I can honestly say that the food tonight was very authentic and i thoroughly enjoyed it as did my husband. Fantastic job and I hope to see you at the Tupton Tap again soon. Jackie an Mike.

This public house doesn't sell food but every other Thursday there is street food trailer (Po'Boy pies and sides) in the car park selling artisan hot pie meals. You can eat your food inside the pub the staff there are friendly and welcoming. These pies are amazing they come with fries or mash, peas, crispy onion and gravy and not forgetting the little bottle of hendos (Hendersons relish). Lee the owner of the trailer is very helpful and friendly, nothing too much trouble.

Just enjoyed a fantastic takeaway tea from the Tupton Tap. Burgers and tapas were as good as they can be! All 4 of us delighted. When it was open the terrific Team Tap served a lovely choice of beers, lagers, ciders, gins and any other drink you could want. During Lockdown they have strived to provide a takeaway service of beers and food and the standard has been terrific. We've just feasted on burgers and tapas. A total treat. Keep up the good work Team Tap! I'll be back!

This is our local pub and it is very convenient for us to get to and we have had many great nights in here. It is such a lovely pub with a cosy atmosphere and we enjoy attending as both a couple and as a group. The only thing that lets this place down is that the food is not consistent and it is very hit and miss if they are serving or not. I haven't got enough fingers to count the amount of times we have been turned away if this was sorted out it would definitely be 5 stars.

Attended tupton tap for the England game on Saturday. Had a cider and sausage festival on. Good choice of both. Loved the pork and tomato sausage. We also had some nibbles too go with the sausages. Would recommend the squid that was great. Handmade Chips were also tasty. The Brie bites were lovely put very sickly should make the portions smaller. Good selection of real ales. It was also a good atmosphere in the pub for the game which was a plus. Felt sorry for the lad behind the bar he was on his own for a while, on a busy Saturday with the football and event on. Would return for a drink and I’d like to try for a meal with my partner.

Just had a lovely meal at this Public House with 7 Real Ales on the bar. It has recently had the kitchen closed for a period but it is now up and running again and serving excellent food, if the 2 meals we had are any guide. Both meals were hot, freshly prepared, more than sufficient and delicious. The surroundings are pleasant, the staff are friendly and keen to please. It has a dog friendly section and, as a bonus, it will serve the Real Ales in 1/3rd pints so you can sample a number of different ales with your meal.

Called in tonight at 6.30 for something to eat. The pub was not at all busy and having got menus, we easily found a table and chose our meals. From the point where our choices were ordered , we waited forty minutes . When the food arrived, served in wire baskets,it looked appetising but I was completely unable to cut my steak. Question to management - have you tried cutting steak in a wire basket?? I'm sure that if I had been able to cut the steak, it would have been tasty but I fond it impossible. So I have to conclude that with a Forty minute wait for foodand no explanation as to why this was in a not too busy pub, and food that was impossible to eat in a ridiculous wire basket, We shall not be returning.

We called into the Tupton Tap on Easter Sunday for lunch, alarm bells should have rang when we had a large choice of tables on what should have been a very busy day. We ordered 2 Sunday lunches and sat in a soulless atmosphere awaiting our food to arrive. it arrived cold and piled high on the plate. The pork was in little chunks not slices and it looked very unappetizing. We sent it back paid for the drinks and left, never to return.

Knowing that this pub was refurbished by the owner of the Poets Corner we thought we would give it a try. Phoned to book table for 6 people for 7pm. When we arrived the pub was almost empty (perhaps due to the snow?) We asked for 2 pints of Guinness and were told they dont sell it. When I said we had booked a table we were told to just sit anywhere. We were then given a pint pot full of cutlery and a menu that looked it had just been printed out and nothing like what was on the website. We had to order the food at the bar. Having waited for our meal when it arrived it was in a wire basket (not on a plate). Three of us had steak but we had to try and cut it with a normal knife. Our daughter had a pizza and we ended cutting our steak up on her pizza board. The couple we were with ordered fish and chips and a burger. The batter was not cooked properly, the burger had a piece of stone in it and he nearly broke his filling. Bit of advice - please ditch the baskets and put food on plates, sort a proper menu out and stick to that menu. Sorry we wont be coming back again. We were reimbursed for the burger meal but we still didnt enjoy the night. I suggest you visit the Poets Corner, when you arrive your table is already made up with condiments, knives and forks etc and the staff there come and take your order.

We called in for a 'quick bite' of lunch. Arrived at 12.10 and was told that the menus were not available but we're being put into their covers 'as we speak'. We assumed that there would only be a short delay so ordered a drink. 20 minutes later we were told the menus couldn't be printed (making the first statement untrue) so we were 'talked through' the menu. No prices were given. We each ordered a sandwich and asked if we wanted chips with those and we said we didn't. 30 minutes later the sandwiches arrived....with chips. I had chosen chicken and mayo. The chicken was warm so the mayo had turned thin and runny. The chips were nice though! We might return one evening to sample the beer....but first impressions were disappointing. I understand that it was the first day of a new menu and having a menu available for customers to see is fundamental. Things can go wrong but an unfortunate start and enough time/preparation would have prevented it.

I am absolutely livid. After spending quite a bit of money at this place before, drinks, meals etc.. we thought we'd call here for a couple after work with the kids. Fair enough we have 3 children, more than most but none of them were allowed by us to "run riot". We sat them down, out of the way of people eating etc. 2 of our children then started crying, I changed them (on the floor of the toilets as there is no baby change) I gave them milk, unfortunately this only helped a little. Bearing in mind this had only been going on for around 15 minutes and I was already very conscious of disturbing people so I thought I will get them something to eat, however when I went to the bar I was told by the landlady that we would have to move from where we were because they had 'other customers' to consider. Fair enough, I understand that our children crying may have been causing 'annoyance' to some but we have been to other places where staff have been more than helpful to bring them paper, colours to help to entertain them. I know now that this is not a family friendly pub at all! It's such a shame as The Old Poets corner is one of our favourite places and so we thought that this place could be a 'new local' for us but after this experience I can definitely say I will not ever step foot in this place again. We were trying our very best to sort our children so we were not disturbing anyone but as anyone with young children know it's not always so easy. I felt embarrassed in front of others as the land lady felt it was fine to ask us to move in front of all the other customers, not discretely. I'm so so angry and upset, I understand that our children's behaviour was causing annoyance to others BUT it was 16:45 on a Friday afternoon, we were thinking of ordering food as I know the reason why they were crying is because it was teatime and they were hungry but because of how we have been treated and made to feel we will not be visiting here again! I'm absolutely disgusted!

On entering we were met by the very friendly staff who took us to our table(booking in advance is a must). I chose the regular Steak, ale and mushroom pie which was served with mash, broccoli and carrots. The gravy I must say was delicious and complemented the meal perfectly.
