A real gem. Excellent food and good service, plus they made a special effort when they found we had got married the previous day. Lovely. Thanks to all.

This is an amazing looking place with service and food to match. The staff were attentive and friendly. I had the chilli-beef bao bun to start which was fantastic, each of our party all very much enjoyed their starters of camembert and belly pork yakitori sticks. The mains were a little hit and miss, but some of our party are particularly hard to please... I myself had the trio of mini sliders which were good, the chicken was a little dry and very salty. Very excited to come back to try more of the menu.

No sirloin steak so ordered yakitori sticks and chilli chips Sticks were. cold chips didn’t arrive until we asked staff, Overall dissatisfied

First time we had tried here - we’d heard it was good. Sadly this wasn't our experience. The place was nice enough and no issues with service or staff but the food was disappointing. I had a chicken burger which was very well done and extremely tough to eat. My husband had the beef stroganoff. The beef was tender enough but tasteless and the onions were hard. It was served in a bland watery liquid - similar to what you would get from a cheap packet sauce mix. The meat clearly hadn’t been cooked in the sauce. With hindsight we should have complained but it was an anniversary meal and we didn't want to spoil the event. As we left there was a strong smell of burnt food coming out of the extractors in the car park. Maybe the kitchen staff were having an off day but if they were prepared to still serve the food knowing it was burnt then we wont risk going there again.

Thought the food was perfect, drinks amazing, staff fantastic and very friendly went with a few friends and we all enjoyed 1000/10 🥰

We absolutely love this place! Amazing food, staff , service and price, atmosphere and the decor especially upstairs with the blossom trees . The pizzas are beautiful and cost around £10-£12 drinks are reasonable,highly recommend!!!

We visited this amazing gastro pub for the first time last night and it was fantastic. Truly one of the best places that I have water in the U.K. We had a table in the upstairs section of the restaurant and the pink trees and lights made the aesthetics beautiful. The service was excellent - discreet and attentive without being rushed or put under any pressure to leave. But the most memorable part of the evening was the food. The portion sizes are generous, the quality was outstanding, and everything was presented with such care and attention.

Very good service but completely flat beer and truly awful fish and chips - served in a wooden box on a piece of paper, flabby batter, unseasoned fish and cold mushy peas. The rest of the party's food was OK but we shall not be going again despite the friendly and considerate service.

I've been to the Hunloke a few times now and it's always been great food and service. Yesterday, I told the waitress as usual that I have both a dairy and gluten intolerance and she was absolutely fantastic. She went above and beyond to help me decide what to have, and when I ordered something that I thought didn't have gluten in, she came over and went through each ingredient with me to make sure I could have it. It made the whole experience just so much easier and I didn't feel like I was being a pain at all (like how some waiting staff can make me feel!). Would definitely recommend anyway as it's great food, great atmosphere and great service. But, especially for people with allergies you will be very looked after!!

Lovely rustic venue, great service, decent portion sizes just a shame about the dry chicken, which really let it down. Had heard great things from other visitors and was slightly disappointed with our visit. Our table had 4 different chicken dishes and all were overcooked and incredibly dry. The wait wasn't long so can only presume they were either cooked by a flamethrower or had been reheated. May give it another go but would try burgers or pizza. Cashless venue, must pay via QR code on table at the end.

This place is a hidden gem, we were lucky to get in on a very busy day. I wish this was nearer to where I live as it's so good. I had Caesar salad, truffle fries and a big yakatori stick. Hubby had belly pork and pizza. Everything tastes amazing.

Ordered way too much food because the menu was fantastic. All the food was excellent, bao buns in particular were delicious. Service was quick, and the atmosphere was lovely. Highly recommend and definitely will be back.

Just left , booked last minute traveled 25 miles to visit as we had been once before....never again ! It was very quiet orederd starters and mains , starters arrived and were beautiful.....then after 30 mins , we had to ask where our mains were.....they were only sandwiches and chips ....the had not even started on them !! We were pushed for time and couldn't stay, not did we want to , at least they compt our food we had had , as they should....no excuses, left hungry, have to go to Macdonald's! We will not be back

We went for my sisters birthday and it was absolutely amazing and we had the best server heidi (she was so nice and the best)

Ate here Christmas and what a lovely place. Iv also eaten alone and both times was seriously underwhelmed with the good. Very overpriced and mediocre. The pace itself is rwlaly incredible and staff fantastic, can't help enough. The little touches at Christmas with the elves is wonderful just a shame other places locally have such great food. I don't think the food is bad, just alot of very good food establishments locally serving better food. None have a better atmosphere though

Visited here for a birthday meal. Lovely decor and well fitted out. Starters were good, Garlic bread nice, and Bang Bang Chicken ok. The mains were a disaster: - Kentucky Kebab had no seasoning, was burnt and hardly any chicken. The chips were dry. - Beef stroganoff had no taste and tasted like a bland bolognese - Mongolian Beef was ok. Lots of beef and sauce but far too rich. - Kids Macaroni Cheese was good. After complaining to the waitress she didn’t say much and proceeded to give us the bill without even wishing the birthday member happy birthday. The bill was £180 and they hadn’t knocked anything off as an apology for the boring and tasteless food. Wouldn’t recommend especially if you’re going for a special celebration as they simply do not care.

It is a very interesting and different place to go. Well worth the experiance.

We were advised to come here for our anniversary by a friend at work. The service was great as was the food. The manager arranged a surprise for us of a platter with Happy 39th Anniversary and chocolate ice cream. We have now found our go to restaurant. We will definitely be visiting again and passing on our recommendations.

The experience was made special sharing time with my family, the food I had was very nice just a main course for me, family had main and dessert it all went down really well lol.

Great service, lovely atmosphere and a really nice meal. We dined upstairs in the Orchard, which was intimate and a much better experience than the busy downstairs area. Servers were very attentive and it didn't take long to get drinks,order and receive our food. We had a mixture of courses including bao buns and skewers, burger and dessert. I thought everything tasted great,portion size was good and very reasonable pricing. We also went with the novelty bathtub cocktail. Tasted good, was a lot of fun. Highly recommend. Best place we have been in the local area.

I went with my Son after we had been in the hospital for hours. Went for a late lunch. I ordered the lentil Dahl but was told they had none left. I had to choose something else and found my choices quite limited because I am gluten free and don't eat meat. I chose a falafel burger and sweet potato wedges. It was poorly presented and the bread was dry. The actual burger was alright but that's about it. It was not worth the money!! It had a strange tasting sauce on it. And the wedges were more like half potatoes cut in half. I could not see any staff to tell them about this. As we were tired after being in the hospital long hours we were too tired to look for anyone. I would not be making a return visit.

Vegetarians and vegans stay away. Very limited options. And cannot say whether the dish is actually vegetarian as there is a disclaimer on there saying some of the cheeses used may contain rennet. I had the gnocchi today (not out of choice, my first choice the lentil curry they didn’t have), it was so bland and tasteless. At a price of £14 I would’ve expected a lot more. I don’t go out to eat often, so to go out and spend that money on a meal which was bland and tasteless, just felt massively disappointed. Our server Ellie was polite, and I did like the way you could pay and split the bill by using the qr code. But that was about the only thing which was good.

Been here 4+ times. Food is always absolutely brilliant. I've never had much luck with the booking system here, but staff are always really helpful and have managed to fit us in on a couple of occasions when I made a mistake with the booking. Service is nice and steady and you don't feel pushed out the door despite it being a busy restaurant. Two separate kitchens here mean if you order a pizza you'll most likely recieve it before any other plates. That said the drinks menu is vast, so much choice, so if you can get here without driving it's definitely a good idea! Parking at front and back, it's always a tad tight, so maybe leave a few minutes extra to get a spot. But each visit here has been really good, as mentioned brilliant food, fantastic drinks and honestly lovely staff, and a lovely atmosphere. Menu is perhaps a tad more pricey than some pubs, but it absolutely reflects the value. This is a must visit, certainly recommend!

Wow what a great place we will be back .

Afraid im going to have to change my review, visited again today and after paying the bill of £160 we were stopped by staff on the way out because they forgot to charge us for some garlic bread, a fresh bill was presented, I don't mind paying it was £10 ish but was embarrassing in front of the other customers

Amazing place, amazing food and fabulous staff! It was our first time there and we thoroughly enjoyed it! I can guarantee it won't be my last. The pizza is beautiful and the Japanese food is excellent.

First time visiting with our teenage girls and they loved the upstairs restaurant, food was stunning as always and they sampled the mocktail menu too... Will definitely be back again as was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Very nice place, nice staff, and excellent food. My only observation is tat if you like "traditional " British food (Pies etc), you'd be better looking elsewhere.

Although the aesthetics look good I can't say the same for the service and food. Told my order at the bar hadn't gone through when it had then they agreed it had otherwise I would have paid them twice The meal we booked had the finest starters. My main was beef stroganoff which had 99 per cent mushrooms in it. I returned the dish then waited what felt like an age and then got served what looked and tasted like bisto gravy with a few strips of what tasted just like liver. I gave up left it and ordered a dessert as I was hungry. Then as it was getting late bar staff started spraying disinfectant next to me in the bartop whilst other staff milled around with mop buckets. Ordered a cookie and vanilla ice cream sandwich. Waitress came out with double chocolate cookie and chocolate ice cream which I didnt order an d don't like them waltzed off . In fact they all did. We were up there totally on our own where you are supposed to pay at your table . After waiting a bit we went downstairs and tried to pay at the other bar where I complained. They gave me 50 per cent off my stroganoff and apologised. Then mix up with my payment again . Eventually got out of there. It ruined our evening which was meant to be a celebration and feel let down by The Hunloke.

Great food and good choice of drinks

Great food, goos service.. our son treated us and paid by scanning the app on the table however just to make you aware this included an automatic service charge of either 15 pounds or 15%.. can't remember specifically.

5 star place. The pub is like in a fairytale, unbelievably beautiful, food is yummy and staff nice. One of my favourite places. Cocktails are gorgeous!

Lovely food slow service. Waiting a long time between courses but we'll worth it. Would definitely recommend that you make a visit.

Booked for a later evening meal - fortunately we managed to get a table upstairs, which is less crammed in and less noisy than downstairs, though it did get very warm. Service was okay - our waitress was efficient and pleasant, but chewing gum which was a little off putting and not very professional. Food was tasty and plentiful.

My friends and I came here for a catch up, immediately was made to feel welcomed by everyone. The staff here are very warm and friendly, and the pub itself is stunning. The food is incredible, and the price is great for what you get, too. Two of my friends had the mocktails, and they looked amazing. Everything about this place is just incredible, and we will all certainly come again!

Arrival greeting was friendly and sat to our table quickly. Food was amazing. One of our starters was forgotten and by the time it had come, the rest of us had eaten ours. We did have to send a couple of main dishes back as they came out to us tepid, asked for fresh meal, took a while but when they came out it was a fresh meal and no reheated. They took these two off our bill but had added them on twice so unless ee had checked we would have still paid for them!!! A bit cheeky to be fair. That said, food was delicious, service was ok not exceptional. Not 100% I would go back sadly due to the many errors but if you don't mind being messed about then its ok.

Absolutely spot on. I had a problem on a previous visit with slightly undercooked food, which I raised with the staff. Having said that, even then the rest of the food was very good. This time, all the food was perfect and very tasty. The staff were polite and helpful. Our waitress, Keira, did a great job this evening. It goes a long way when the staff take on feedback and act on it. Would definitely recommend a visit. Pictured is the Mongolian Beef - compliments to the Chef!

Well blown away on our visit here. Never been to these pubs but certainly enjoyed it. The food was amazing and a few cocktails to celebrate my birthday. In 53 yrs this is the first that I was made to feel special and valued. Not many places like this any more. The staff were amazing so friendly. I would highly recommend a visit. A special birthday surprise brought to my table. I really was overwhelmed and so glad it finished my day off on a positive vibe.

Been many times and recommended to others. This time sat on the balcony, no table service outside, really filthy floor with cigarette butts and old food, dirty table not cleaned when we sat down, poor customer service. Had to ask twice for napkins and glasses and plates left on table. Did not feel like a special occasion. Food is great but service is worse than Weatherspoons. Might not be back anymore.

Food when it was corrected was very good. Two of us had to send it back as it wasn't warm. Service was ok but a bit slow. Not a problem if you don't mind waiting around. They did take off the meals that were tepid but only after billing us for the ones taken back and the ones we ate. Bit more attention to detail would have been an easy 5 star review. It all got sorted eventually but only after we chased them.

Had a lovely catch-up with friends over a huge pizza that we shared with a couple of sides of chips and onion rings. The cocktails were amazing too! Well worth the money, will definitely be back for more of the same!

Although it’s had a few name changes and owners, I think this venue has now established itself as a destination pub – at least for me! Having not visited for a few years, I called in with my wife on a late Sunday afternoon after a long walk from the nearby Avenue Washlands and up through the new estate. I must say I was extremely impressed with this place after such a long absence. Upon walking in, after stating that we had not booked a table but just wanted a drink, we were welcomed in and told where to go for some comfortable seating, despite it being busy. The staff were all very pleasant with us as we wound our way through to the bar – just smiling and acknowledging us, which is something you don’t tend to get in a lot of places. The guy who served me at the well-appointed bar was pleasant and apologised for my (short) wait, before taking my order. My wife had a large glass of Pinot Grigio, and I ventured for a bottle of Daura Damm. In the end, because it was a pleasant evening, we decided to sit outside on the veranda area, where we realised there was a garden area with extra seating further down below us. We made a note to try that out next time. We hadn’t planned to stay for more than one drink but, as we had been so nicely treated, we decided to have another drink. This time we both had Daura Damms, with me asking for a pint glass and two bottles, to make up my 660ml “pint” (needs must, and all that!) We didn’t have any food – apart from a bag of Pipers crisps each (last of the big spenders) – but vowed to return and try it on another occasion. I remain hopeful that I’ll be able to navigate the menu for some gluten free offerings and, if so, I will make it a regular place to visit to unwind and enjoy the great ambience. We visited for my friends 40th. Was a lovely atmosphere, lovely attentive service. We had the pit burger and southern fried chicken burger, they were average, nothing really to write home about. We also had mini cheese sticks, goats cheese and Parma ham was nice, as was Halloumi & Camembert. Would visit again but try something else.

First time here with friends and it was awesome. The food was incredible, cocktails delicious, and the people who work there are lovely and great at what they do. Payment is unique (scan a code, pay online), so be patient unlike me, but can see how it may be useful. Overall, brilliant experience, will definitely come again.

Lovely place for dinner, very busy on a Sunday afternoon. Great atmosphere, great food and drink. Never seen so many bottles on a back bar. Price was slightly high for a casual meal out but overall loved it.

Value for money and that's what people are looking for now.

Lovely pub with vibrant atmosphere..... Large selection of seating areas inside and out... always a friendly welcome... I like that you can do everything from ordering and paying on the App... Food is very good and large portions..... They certainly do food food and atmosphere good as its always busy.... 👌

Been here a few times, a couple of times the service hasn't been great the staff just forget you exist. The food is pretty good but some times it has beenreally oily and greasy which let's it down! Great drinks I love the cocktail selection but they are extremely expensive for the service you recieve

Nice enough pub. Issue with pizza takeaway but food server could have dealt with it better with us and staff involved taking the order.

Always amazing here. Great food and amazing staff. So friendly and quick service. They always manage to get the food out from the pizza and normal kitchens despite warning it might not happen, I’ve never had to wait very long!!

I've been to Hunloke a number of times now and always have a nice time there. The food is generally very good, and there is lots of choice when it comes to drinks. The parking is quite tight, and they're currently having work (03/24) at the bottom of their carpark which makes it slightly more difficult to get out if you can't find a parking space.

Fabulous meal , just alittle slow between food , my mum has dementia and was getting anxious so had to leave before pudding unfortunately
