Hyde Park Inn in North East Derbyshire

We went to the Hyde Park Inn because we were going to the wake of a very dear friend (who sadly died recently) was held there.The place ended up being packed because our friend was very well known in Dronfield.The food was good finger buffet stuff and plenty of it.Would,nt mind calling back in the future under better circumstances as looked a very good place for a meal and a drink.

We held a function here on 14th February 2025. The food was excellent. The staff were brilliant ,nothing was too much trouble.. Well done 👏

Lovely roast dinner with family nice atmosphere with excellent staff and service. We can definitely recommend this place and will be going again soon

We had my mum’s wake here and the staff were amazing and so friendly the pub is clean and tidy. The food was good. A massive thanks to the staff for helping us give my mum a brilliant send off

Although my visit it was not for a good occasion the Hyde Park made it very special. The staff were brilliant, buffet well managed and delicious and the general atmosphere was very welcoming. Thank you

It'd been a long week and we didn't fancy cooking Friday evening, so popped in without prior booking at around 6.30pm. It was absolutely heaving in the Hyde Park. So great to see it so busy but there were no tables available. Tom found us a table however, so happy days. :-) A cheeky pie and a gammon/eggs later, and we were feeling much better. The Hyde Park is so close to home, and a firm favourite of ours.

Down to earth pup with great food and quality service and a great price...loved the homemade steak and ale pie

Great location. Just opposite the race village [The Dronfield Big Dipper Half Marathon]. Perfect staff. Cold Moretti after the half marathon run was that what I needed. Huge space for sitting outside in the garden at the back of the pub. Many runners had dinner here.

Love this place, dog friendly and even have water and treats for them. Definitely would come back

The atmosphere was absolutely amazing here. As a visitor to the area I was made to feel very welcome. I will definitely return if the opportunity presents itself.

I went there for a wake The Landlord and Landlady where superb They always came round to see if everything was fine Could not complain with the service There was hot and cold food to choose from .

Very friendly people. The dog was also allowed to come along, which was a big plus. The food was very good

Stopped overnight in our campervan. Super quiet, lovely area to walk the dogs and a perfect stop off for our route. Good value meal that we both really enjoyed (one vegetarian and one carnivore).

Had a midweek lunchtime meal. Enjoyed the food and was reasonably priced.

Ordered a wrap which came with salad and chips, very good value. Lovely chips.

Absolutely fabulous, we went for New Year’s Day lunch, the service was friendly and efficient , staff pleasant and friendly, the place is very nice with a good atmosphere, and the steak pie was the best we’ve had for ages. Very reasonable price. Never been before but definitely going again.

Been a few times for drinks (not eaten), really good pub, great atmosphere, good service!

Make sure you say you are closed when you are closed. We have tried twice to go in the evening when you said you were open, and found that wasn’t the case. Perhaps update your internet site

I thought this pub was fab. Plenty of space with you able to go round four sides of an island bar. Plenty of drinks options and the place was clean and tidy.

Just popped in for a drink, haven't been in there for about 20 years in which time it has been refurbished and extended. Very nice atmosphere, well done Hyde Park Inn.

Been here a few times & have never been disappointed. It’s a great pub. This time we came mid week for lunch while we were out walking the dog. Our dog was made a fuss of 🐾We were able to eat inside as they have a dog friendly area. We both had a wrap/melt & this came with a free soft drink 😃 Bonus! Food was very nice & hot. Chips are the best I’ve had in ages. Friendly staff & good atmosphere. Will be back again & again.

Went here with my dog and sat outside. The outside garden area is lovely. The cider was nice especially in the sunny weather carvery looked nice as well.

Booked in for 7.45 on the phone. On arrival at 7.30 told we were too late to order food as the kitchen had shut but chef would cook for us anyway! Propierter was not welcoming and we felt to be an inconvenience. Good very average and we will not be returning.

Came for the pub quiz. Drinks were very nice definitely recommend the mango and passion fruit spritz!!!

Slightly weird and wonderful wacky pub yards from the bypass. Amazing beer garden, multi rooms, cheap brownies at the bar, engaging bar staff/landlady. Some unusual beers for the area too, Vocation on cask, and Brixton on keg

Whilst we didn't have any food, it smelt and looked good. Drinks very reasonable too and the lady behind the bar was lovely :)

Great local pub friendly staff and food delicious especially the Sunday Roast Tom's speciality and great menu too. The garden area is beautiful nice way to spend a sunny 🌞 afternoon Would definitely recommend the Hyde Park

Went for a funeral I an gluten free they made me z lovely salad and the other buffet looked good.

Old fashioned style carvery, potatoes and Yorkshire's weren't freshly made, but the meat was delicious. Could've done with some home made Yorkshire's and roast potatoes, but still an enjoyable meal. Pub was pleasant, not too busy, and the prices reasonable. Solid 4/5.

Great outdoor seating, would try to come again on a summers eve, reasonable food prices, staff really nice.

Stopped off on our way to a Pulp concert in Sheffield and came away wishing it was much nearer to my home . Great food, great service.

We went for dinner and drinks. It was tapas evening. There is a vast selection. It’s buy one get lowest priced one free. There were four of us we had 12 dishes between us. Outstanding value for money. The dishes were presented well and we were all very satisfied. We thoroughly enjoyed the food. We will return. There is a good section of beers which went down well with the food.

Couldn't think of a better place to spend a summers day, evening or night

Never eaten at this place before.Had a table booked for my partners brothers birthday.When arriving our table wasn't ready and after around 10 minutes waiting we were given another table with my chair on the end blocking people's access though the pub.When informing a member of staff of this they very reluctantly moved another table to make space.Was I expected to move every time someone wanted to get pass?!. Finally ordered food which to be very honest wasn't very good.Bland tasting,not very hot and portions not very good!. Halfway through the meals the waitress returned asking if people who ordered the pie of the day wanted the sauce that went with it?.Bit late I think?!.Left the very noisy pub after the poor meals and service with everyone saying how poor the whole experience was and that they wouldn't return in the future!.Had to give one star rating as can't give zero!.

Came here for a wake, staff were cheerful and amazing service, we all sat at a table and before long a spread of delicious food was available for us, not a single person in our entire meet of around thirty people failed to comment on how amazing the chips were, seriously, if you go here, even if you're just getting a pint, i implore you to get a couple chips on the side just for the hell of it, proper pub food, best quality i've ever had.

Just had the most amazing carvery at the Hyde Park. Daughters 40th Birthday with 22 for lunch ! The food was excellent .. so much choice & the vegetarian option was spot on ! Tom was on hand to ensure everything went smoothly. Would highly recommend the Hyde Park for a wonderful celebration . The alternative menu looked super & we will definitely be back for what was a truly warm welcome . Well Done !!

I booked the Hyde Park for a family occasion it being my Daughters 40th Birthday. There was 22 for a Sunday Carvery which was just amazing !! Choice of 4 meats & everything you would expect to have on a Sunday Lunch but with the added bonus it all has been cooked for you !! Hot food & delicious gravy ! Staff are polite & helpful and with a few toddlers running round it got a bit hectic but didn’t phase the staff at all despite the Hyde being very busy. Tom was there to oversee everything & all went to plan. I would highly recommend the Hyde Park for any family occasion & who doesn’t love a Sunday Roast ?? However having a quick peek at the menu the food choice is just Amazing ! Been a few times but not on this scale with family ! Amazing beer garden for the children to burn of steam .. when the weather gets a little warmer . Well Done Hyde Park !

Very busy during my visit, it was Xmas and there's no food available. The Brewery obviously sets the price of the drinks and they are quite expensive.

What a great little pub, just on the outskirts of Dronfield but feels like the middle of no where in its own little oasis of tranquility. Extremely good service, with very polite and attentive staff. The ambience was quiet and relaxed and whilst the place was lightly patroned I got the sense this would be the case when busier due to the layout and relaxing feel of the place. The wife raved about her cod, and the kids loved their meals too. I had the surf n turf and got a good portion size to justify the price tag... Tartar sauce was homemade, creamy and delicious... Mushy peas fresh and lively... The little details that make a good meal great. We will be back... Next visit was just a light bite, both having the pulled pork melt. V nice with crispy chips, homemade coleslaw and a side salad. Dog friendly, we also had Miley with us with water available and sensible 'dog house rules'

It was such a delight to visit The Hyde Park Inn. I can't find any faults in this family and dog friendly place. Ladies at the bar were lovely and food.... I finally have found chips so scrumptious and the pie of the day was exquisite. Just like homemade. Flavours and taste were well balanced and I didn't even use any additional condiments to enhance the taste of my meal. And it's all on my doorstep. Why to go elsewhere? Thank you!

The food here is amazing the quesidilla is out of this world my dad had the home made pie made to perfection was very tasty and my son who is 8 ate a whole lasagne for his dinner not a scrap left. All really enjoyed it good hearty home made food.

Last time we visited well before lockdown the food was excellent so thought it was a good place for a birthday treat. Service was great but all 4 meals ordered we’re terrible. Too many things wrong to go into detail but we won’t go for food there again

Literally half the menu was not available, the service was abysmal at best, someone needs sacking, they shouldn't be in any form of service industry... All in, a miserable experience in an ok place

We live in Kent and are travelling in our motorhome. We planned to meet family in Dronfield for an evening meal and also needed somewhere to stay overnight therefore rang ahead to book a table and to enquire whether we could stay overnight in their carpark. You couldn't ask for a friendlier and more helpful landlady. Service, food and hospitality were excellent. Would definitely come here again when visiting family.

Popped in for lunch , both ladies behind the bar were welcoming and friendly, ordered drinks and food , the drinks are way overpriced for the standard of the venue,after plenty of microwave pinging the food arrived, the pie was ruined by an extremely soggy limp crust the lasagna was tasteless mush , we won’t revisit.

Brilliant staff very attentive couldn't do more for you. Food excellent portion size towards the large.Good beer and gin selection.

Nice traditional setting and a good selection of beers but the price of food is pretty expensive for what it is. Same selection at the jolly farmer for a lot less.

Only live a few miles from the Hyde Park Inn, passed it many times but decided to finally go in. Very glad I did. The landlord and all of the staff were so friendly and the service was great. It was tapas Tuesday so my friend and I shared a few dishes. Food lovely. The outside area looks great too. Will definitely be back.

A really nice, large, busy, welcoming and well run pub. The food is great. My steak pie was obviously home made. Talking to the lady running the bar it seems most of the starters and mains (including Sunday Lunch) are similarly home made. Because we no longer live in the area I've not been for twenty years but when I messaged my daughter to say that I'd had lunch, she messaged back a photo taken 6 years ago of the same meal that I'd had with the caption "Best steak pie ever" on it! So if you fancy a pint or a nice pub meal in busy, consistently well run pub .. go.

Went to this warm and lovely place last Sunday after the football in Sheffield and After all the snow was lovely and warm Inside also the carvery was lovely big portions to definitely will be calling here Again may try the quiz next time.

Visited the area during the October half term and chose this pub because it was listed under 'dog friendly' pubs. Great pub, lovely interior, superb ale and food. Highly recommended.

good beer, and pleasant serving staff. sat outside to enjoy the sun, but disappointed by; a) in garden area, rubbish under tables, felt unclean b) Traffic noise from Dronfield bypass, which is just behind some trees.

Awful food. Completely bland. Nothing is home made and if it is, it's badly done. It's the sort of food that comes out of packets and is heated in a microwave. Extremely poor quality ingredients too. At one point I thought I might have Covid as I couldn't taste a thing. Without a doubt the worse meals I've ever had. Tried adding salt and pepper to make it taste of something but rice came out of the shakers instead. Clearly run by an older generation that are out of touch with what is good food. Poor service, bringing wrong items not ordered. Outdated decor. When we came to order food the waitress said she wasn't going to take it yet because they were busy. Instead she came back half hour later which meant we had to wait even longer to get our food. Simply awful.

I have eaten several times here and cannot fault any part of it service is fantastic the gammon here is amazing crispy on the edges and right amount of thickness beautiful it was anyone thinking the gammon isnt gammon obviously doesnt know what a gammon looks like. The halloumi and falafel skewers are a must as well.
