Had a lovely evening at the White Bear. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing, but friendly and welcoming. The service was good and the food was excellent from start to finish. Generally nothing was too much trouble. We didn't really know what to expect as we couldn't find a website for the venue (other than Facebook, which we were unable to access). But it exceeded our expectations and we will definitely return.

Ordered take away to a local holiday park and this has to be one of the best Indians I have ever had! Everything arrived promptly and steaming hot. The dishes were extremely good value for money and so tasty! Would definitely recommend! Thanks for such a lovely mealš

We first visited this little gem last year to watch a friend of ours in a band. We got a friendly reception from the lovely landlord and landlady. We found a table, got some drinks & were then joined by some locals who were also very welcoming! We had a great night, we chatted, laughed & enjoined the music so much weāve been back lots since! The pizzas here are legendary, and thereās nothing nicer than a cold beer in the garden in the summer! Itās definitely one of our favourite music venues now.

Ordered a pie to take out and they charged me 40p to heat it up, the pie was ok but I've never ever been charged for warming any food before, the pie wasn't good enough to warrant the extra charge

We have been staying here every year since 2022 and every time is absolute perfection. Amazing nature surroundings, very quiet and peaceful. The rooms are very spacious, modern and comfortable, and the terrace looking over the hills is the cherry on top. The food in the pub is also great - freshly made and high quality. Will continue coming back time and time again.

We were so surprised when we walked into the Gate at Troway. It is like stepping back in time and so lovely! A traditional country pub that has not been turned into a Gastro pub - thank goodness. The landlord and his staff are lovely and welcoming and I would recommend giving this place a try. A bit off the beaten track but well worth a visit. As far as I know, they dont do meals.
