The best restaurants in Thurnby and Houghton Harborough East Midlands

We had Sunday cavery and really enjoy it there was pork or turkey and a veggie option with all the trimmings , home made fruit crumble was lovely, the restaurant was well set out and plenty of room between each tables the staff and service was very good , well done to all , we will be coming back very soon .

Unfortunately the change of hands was the last night, will look forward to seeing the new owners

Along with my two, little, boys I took the experience flight out over Rutland water. We live in Market Harbourough and our-terrifyingly young but immensely competent and professional-pilot flew over my house, the boys mum’s house and both their grandparents’ houses before nipping out to the reservoir pointing out interesting views along the way. I hadn’t considered beforehand that I would take the yoke but the boys LOVED that I was flying us all for a while! The 45 minute flight was worth every penny and everyone we came into contact with at the clubhouse was friendly & welcoming. Great cheesy chips too! Cannot recommend highly enough!

Beautiful Indian restaurant with great food, and excellent selection of beers. Staff are very friendly, and helpful.

Thought we'd give this place another shot after 2 years, terrible decision, even worse than last time! Despite confirming the food to come altogether, meals from 1 kitchen came together, then after being told 5 minutes for the pizza (fine) then again 10 minutes after, just a few more minutes, 2 pizzas arrived 30 minutes later!!! 3 of the party had already completed their meals, 3 of of the remaining party were still waiting for their food. Only when I asked why the pizzas took so long was I informed there was a problem with the oven. There was no attempt to let us know this beforehand!! Things go wrong, we could've ordered something else. Also not sure how the kitchen think 3 burnt yorkshires is acceptable to dish out.. A terrible experience overall, will not be returning. Prices are quite high for the quality and quantity of food you receive which isn't the end of the world, however you expect good food and good service to go hand in hand, this certainly wasn't the case. I would just add that when the pizza finally arrived, it was piping hot and tasted pretty good. But the experience just left a bitter taste in our mouths, quite disappointing

I originally reviewed this pub as a 5 star however after a dismal breakfast today I needed to down grade it. Me & my husband ordered shashuka- which was cold when served. I spoke to waitress who apologised & took it back to which it was returned on same plate ( I had cut a piece of egg & left on side as was slimey- I'd asked for well done eggs as can't eat under cooked eggs) decided to raise my concerns with " duty mananger" who stood with his arms crossed & seemed dis-interested in my comments-he also stated that all meals were served on spec. Interesting feedback. The family on the next table also had issue with their breakfast being served cold & informed us as they left they got a full refund- we just wanted a sincere apology... we have been visiting this pub weekly for the last 15 years. We have reported this to head office.
