Along with my two, little, boys I took the experience flight out over Rutland water. We live in Market Harbourough and our-terrifyingly young but immensely competent and professional-pilot flew over my house, the boys mum’s house and both their grandparents’ houses before nipping out to the reservoir pointing out interesting views along the way. I hadn’t considered beforehand that I would take the yoke but the boys LOVED that I was flying us all for a while! The 45 minute flight was worth every penny and everyone we came into contact with at the clubhouse was friendly & welcoming. Great cheesy chips too! Cannot recommend highly enough!

Bought my 16yr old an Introductory Flying Lesson 2 seater Cessna & his Dad a “Bucket List” voucher so he could choose the experience (he chose hands on experience) . What a fabulous time they had. Due credit should go to Zach, the pilot who ran both lessons. Obviously my son’s was more detailed as he’d expressed interest in learning to fly. Absolutely amazing. I cannot praise Zach, & the Aero club enough. The club itself was clean, welcoming, friendly with a lovely seating area / deck where you can watch & take photos from. We enjoyed looking at all the old photos and the history involved. Food and drinks are available & the atmosphere amongst all staff and visitors was great. We even bumped into an old friend there, who not only flies from there, but often just goes for the social side - which says it all. We visited on 23 August and apologies for the delayed review! I would thoroughly recommend this club for anyone interested in flying, whether it’s just for the experience, or a long term interest. My son certainly wants to continue - but I’ve told him he has to pass his driving test first, then I’ll look at flight lessons! Absolute 5*

Excellent introductory flying lesson with Lawrence. Exuded calm and confidence and made me feel comfortable and inspired me to sign up for the Pilot Licence. Pre-covid I organised a surprise flying experience for my wife following our wedding where Lawrence was our pilot. Lawrence was very welcoming and knowledgeable and took us around Bradgate Park and Leicestershire sites. We had an amazing experience that will stay with us for a lifetime. Was really good to see Lawrence again for the Introductory lesson. Have now commenced flying lessons and am looking forward to the the journey ahead :) Definitely recommend.

Thoroughly enjoyable flight with Lawrence as our instructor. Lots of amazing views of Bradgate Park and Leicester City Football Stadium. The best way to spend a sunny afternoon! Lots of very useful insight for anyone who wants to lean more about flying. The club atmosphere was great - very friendly. The refreshment bar upstairs was also a nice touch with stunning views of the airfield's runways. It was booked on their website so very simple. A nice gift for yourself or someone else! 10/10 would recommend!

As a retired commercial aviator I enjoy visiting small airfields and Leicester was a good example. Nice upstairs restaurant provided a small range of the usual good pub type food and I enjoyed the view of the airfield activities. Sausages and mash are recommended. Plenty of flying activity mainly from the noisy local helicopters.

What a wonderful experience! Phil, my instructor, was excellent - really calm, friendly and professional. The views of Leicestershire are amazing - my favourite was seeing the canal boats going up Foxton Locks from the air. I got to take control of the oka e and to begin to understand the controls and the safety checks necessary to fly a small plane. The plane, a Cessna, was really comfortable and easy to control. And the team in the aero club are really friendly and helpful. The bacon sandwiches in the cafe were lovely, too. Can’t wait for my next lesson next week! I’ve got the flying bug!

Ordered overpriced beefburger and was unable to eat it as it had been cooked to the texture of shoe leather. Waiter did not even apologise when informed. Will not be going there again. My coleague's soup and roll was a generous portion and tasted fine

The Leicestershire Aero Club is a members club but visitors are welcome when signed in by a member. The restaurant and bar is on the first floor of the converted WW2 control tower with great views across the airfield and the ability to watch the aircraft. There is a good menu of hot dishes and in particular the chef's soups are utterly delicious and a meal in itself.

Stayed here overnight, the room was beautiful and spotless ditto bathroom. We opted to eat in the restaurant and the food was delicious and plentiful, it’s probably the best vegetarian lasagne I’ve eaten, there was a good choice for vegetarians , my husband really enjoyed the gammon. We were both so full we couldn’t manage a pudding. The bar was really busy but we couldn’t hear a word from our room. I slept for nearly 9 hours which is rare for me. The staff were attentive but not overbearing, they are certainly an asset to the business that’s for certain. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back.

A group of 12 of us had Sunday lunch at The Coach & Horses today, we had guests from New Zealand so wanted a nice cosy pub with a good reputation for food - Steph and her team did not let us down! The food was delicious - our choices included the roast pork, beef and chicken and everyone really enjoyed their meal. Service was excellent and the staff are so friendly and helpful. We'll definitely eat there again, so impressed!

An Absolute Gem in the Heart of the Countryside! I’m not from around the area, but during my stay, I found myself coming back to The Staff of Life Pub every single day—and with good reason! The food here is simply out of this world. From the mouth-watering tapas, which were a delightful mix of flavors and textures, to the traditional roast dinner that was as comforting as it was delicious, everything was cooked to perfection. And don’t even get me started on the apple pie—it’s truly to die for. Each bite was a slice of heaven, perfectly balanced with just the right amount of sweetness. Beyond the food, the ambience of the pub is fantastic. It has that perfect blend of warm, cozy, and welcoming, with a lively atmosphere that makes you feel at home, whether you're a regular or just passing through. The décor is charming, and the subtle lighting creates a wonderfully relaxed vibe. What really made my experience special was the incredible service, particularly from Sharon. She is such a gem—warm, attentive, and always ready with a smile. Sharon made sure that every visit was memorable and went out of her way to ensure everything was perfect. Whether you're local or just visiting, The Staff of Life is a must-visit. The food, the service, and the atmosphere are simply unbeatable. I’ll definitely be back!

Lovely pub with a nice atmosphere. Food & drinks very reasonable. Food very tasty, nice to find a pub with good wholesome food, and not a gastro-pub.
